Love to see original designers getting what they deserve for their work! Don't feel pressured to release your files, only do it if you're 100% comfortable with it!
Just letting you know, having not bought one of your guitars, this video was a huge resorce for me wiring my old guitar to a pico! Thank you very much for putting this out!
Do you plan to put out a build guide for the Raspberry Pico, even just all the materials you used for this type of build would work for me. Thanks dude and seriously enjoy your projects!
@@JoshDesigns Definitely, I am working on my own version of the Les Paul currently. Most of its printed and I am going to Hydro Dip it for paint. Ill show you when its done and good luck with your schooling dude!
I love the uniqueness of the build of the guitar and how easy you make it to follow along! Also is there any way you could mirror the blueprints to make this a lefty guitar? I really like the look of the les paul and the geometric guitar and plan to print both of them, but I was wondering if this was possible. Keep up the amazing videos!
sofrware and code should be identical and yeah I guess you could mirror literally every STL file but I think you really only need to mirror the 2 body files and the start/select panel file@@diegwz2770
Hey @JoshDesigns thank you for the awesome designs! my kids love it and picked out your geometric design as our next family project since they were recently introduced to guitar hero. I plan on building two of them, if your schedule allows could you toss the whammy bar stl files somewhere? they really want me to do a more 'advanced' pi pico build. Thanks!
Hard to say unfortunately. I hardly made any profit during my little trial run of the 25 guitars I sold on etsy so I gotta figure some things out if I want to keep doing this long term. but I am currently working on a batch of 50 guitars. after that batch I'm probably done selling fully assembled guitars and will switch to selling solderless kits
I second this! I’ve got some switches on order and am getting ready to start printing my guitar and would love to be able to incorporate a whammy to it
i've printed several of your guitars, my friends and family love them! i've been wondering I noticed the raspberry pi pico version of your guitar is a bit different from the one on printables (space for whammy bar, internals made to fit raspberry instead of usb controller), Any chance we could get the raspberry pi version too :D (or a way to pay for the Stl's im more of a programmer then a 3d modeler so i'd gladly pay for the models)
I'm a huge fan of the channel and your work! I've made two of your guitars already and absolutely would like to make more in the future. If you had the whammy STLs up for sale, I'd be overjoyed to purchase them! I know that doesn't stop people from mass producing them still though :(
@@JoshDesigns Super interested in your new design as well. I've printed like ten of your old design just for myself lol. I would definitely pay for the files as well!
Hey Josh, been wanting to build myself a guitar and came across your channel. You are amazing for providing all this invaluable information, thank you. Question: is it possible to use a digital input for the whammy if you are content with being unable to modulate between 0 whammy and “whammy max” (when button is pressed, max whammy. when button is released, no whammy)? Or will clone hero only accept an analog signal? I’d like the option to whammy to boost my star power, but the arduino looks a bit advanced for me. Thanks again for all you’ve done
of you aren’t experienced with coding i’d recommend using the guitar configurator but you should be able to do it in the code with only copy/pasting a few things.
Is it possible to plug these into a Wii and have it work properly? Would it need to have software mods? Some kind of adapter to make it function with a controller? I want to make one of these but have it plug directly into the console and work. Is that possible? Also is it possible to make it where one guitar will work across all platforms?
Hey, im gonna say, your guitars looks amazing, unfortunately with local taxes of converting money and shipping is really expensive for me. I just wanted to ask, is there any reason you choose ps3 controller in the guitar configurator?
you mentioned you made the fret circut board do you sell them i was hoping to see them in your etsy store but seems youve taken a break if you do sell them and still have some id love to grab a few!!
Help please! I built a guitar and used a pi pico. I used the programmer and all was recognized and seemed to work well. In game it shows that even when I release a button some times it will remain pressed. They are new mechanical switches and I have confirmed with continuity they are fine. Even If I use an input tester out of game it shows its pressed so it leaves me to believe its not hardware. Key counter is showing its being pressed several hundred times per press. using denounce and dequeue rate I was able to get it to 80 but I can not adjust further. do you have any ideas what it might be?
wow I wish I was smart enough to know what the problem could be. several hundred times per press is crazy. only thing I could think of is try playing the guitar directly on the mechanical switches without any 3D printed buttons on top of them. My guess is that the layer lines of the printed parts are causing the buttons to be a little sticky. the solution to that would be sanding the buttons and the buttons_top parts or using ABS acetone smoothed buttons.
Hey Josh, I asked you awhile back about the tame impala guitar, and I just wanted to ask if you are still working on getting the files released? I don't want to pressure you to do anything you don't want to do, I just want to know hehe. If that is the case, will they be free or paid files????
So sorry to hear this. I would recommend testing it out on a website like gamepadtest.com and if the strum button is still stuck up, then it's an issue with the controller. I only sold guitars myself on etsy last fall for a few months but there are others who are selling my designs without my permission. Where did you purchase the guitars?
can you tell me why you changed from a single paddle on the strum bar to double paddles? ive been building my own guitar out of wood, based on your old les paul and thats one upgrade ive been on he fence about.
because before, I wasnt using a PCB to mount the strumbar switches but now I am. so before, the strum switches could be oriented sideways but now they have to be flat
