Most ulta’s put RETURNED/USED makeup back on the floor so someone else can buy it. Some people are saying that dumpster diving is gross but if you wanna be real, you’re doing the exact same but only buying it in store. Stay woke

No. If someone returns something and it’s been used, we throw it out.
That absolutely not true. If the product had even been just swatched it gets a damage tag. Mascaras, lipglosses and hair products get a damage tag even if the customer says it’s never been used. And finally all the damaged out items get sent back unless they are tagged as Destroyed in field, in which case we completely destroy the product and throw it away. Also destroyed in field items are very rare like 1/1000 so most everything gets sent back to corporate.
That's all bullcrap. Sorry, an ulta employee i know says that there is chemicals in it that are very toxic and dangerous. My friend also said yesterday she dumped a dead rat there, so..... if you like toxic cancer inducing chemicals and dead rats then i guess it isnt gross
Sister Haulics I think it's was very nice of that Hit a to put the box in the trash that had your name in it. If you noticed there were alot if palettes that were in very good or perfect condition. Maybe next video you should say thank you to them, you never know there maybe some really good surprises in the future for you. To everyone hating because of how unsanitary it is, do you really think they don't clean it? I'm sure they mist rubbing alcohol on all of their powder products and clean the rest before using it. If it's not damaged and they're able to kill the bacteria I don't see any harm in them using it especially knowing that half of you touch door knobs and rub your face anyway.
One thing is u can't completely kill the bacteria. And u want it completely gone with eyeliners, mascara, eyeshadoe, powder, primer, skincare, primer, foundation etc.
Also the door knob thing- if,u already are adding dirt to your face. And pores why add more? Also these products are more bacteria filled and being rubbed into your eyes and skin. Going back to the touching dirty things all the time, I just hope u wash your hands enough to limit,that bacteria.

Panda Warner cold sores from lipstick.... is what I meant. 🙄 The sarcasm was funny though. Anyways I worked for a makeup store for a few years before quitting. It was just a risk whenever anyone used a tester. A coworker got pink eye from the mascara and eyeliner. *cringes* Coworkers sanitized the makeup with alcohol and wiped off the top layer with powders, lipsticks, eyeliners, etc (No hate. Just want to help those girls out. If you really want to wear the makeup then I suggest not ever using the lipgloss or mascara testers. Those are most likely double dipped.). Lipstick and gloss testers there is always a risk of getting herpes cold sores since rubbing alcohol doesn’t kill viruses.
I highly recomend you guys get a head strap for your camera idk what kind it is but if its a tiny one or just a phone u should total get a head strap :D awesome vid!

I can see why people dumpster dive because you can sanitize and repress but it still is not guaranteed that they are completely clean. I think you guys should get the little strips to test how clean the products are and then use them just as a precaution. Also you can just save up until you have enough money to buy them brand new so you know they aren’t dirty 😣🤔🤗😬🤢
Kit Kat not everyone can save money for what is deemed as unnecessary to survive with and have to prioritize there money just to live I rarely can get new makeup because it just doesn’t fit in my budget and when I do they are low priced brands that are only a dollar or 2 maybe splurge on something 8 dollars because sometimes its makeup or food and most people chose food

i wudnt use the stuff that's been left out as testers, they're filled with bacteria and you can get sores or other things off it :( i hope u take precautions on those things..

In my country that much in the bins would not happen. So what I say is a practical way for you to sort out the stuff. I would continue to take the boxes and if the bags look promising take then too. Put the rubbish back in the dumpster not in your household rubbish. I would get in quick and get out quick and get going to the next one.

Before ya’ll go around thinking that dumpster diving is gross, just remember that they are decreasing the amount of waste in the world. That means we can life here longer thanks to them. They should be allowed to go to those places where they dump the stuff into the ground and before they burry it they should look through it and find new uses for stuff.
The makeup is going to re reach the garbage again at one point in its life. Also it is not just gross it's contaminated. But u do u.
Repair the pallets by saturating with alcohol and pressing product back in place, let dry and will be good as new.
That part when you show all the items it's like asmr, at least for me 😂

Nope not 100% sanitary. Rubbing alcohol doesn’t kill viruses, only bacteria. That’s why people have gotten herpes cold sores from lipgloss and lipstick testers. These videos are fun to watch though with what all they find. The top faced rainbow unicorn 🦄 🌈 stuff was my favorite! 😀

Lol I remember one time I went diving behind melrose and some other store and they threw out like half the store and we found like cute house decorations clothes and I found 5-6 pairs of shoes and literally every pair of the boots I found fit me and some makeup and jewelry and other random stuff. It was literally the best. BUT I will say one thing, we threw it all in the back of the truck and hauled butt and went through it at home because I sure wasn’t about to test getting caught. Y’all should have just put the boxes in the car and took it home! Whatever you didn’t like throw it out. Love your videos though. 😊💕

I just thought of something... Do people go in ulta, buy something expensive, return it later and then dumpster dive it and get it for free? So that way you're not spending any money and you know you like the product
Violet Grey - Maybe But, having worked in Retail for 20+ years, Just about every chain keeps track of “Returners”. By taking your name, marking the receipt, etc in order to look for scammers, It is NOT in my opinion worth the Risk and In many States that would be considered theft or at the very least, Tax Evasion! it’s almost the same as an Employee “Throwing Away” new merchandise and leaving it for their Friend aka accomplice to pick up. One of the main reasons prices are so high is because of Theft aka ‘Shrink’ But the Shocking point for me was when I learned that as high as 70% of all Shrink stems from employee Theft! 😨
I'm sure there are some shady people who would do that, but that's for real stealing and just trashy. We would never do that or recommend it.

Jordyn Mahan we haven’t gotten a five below haul in soooo long! And the only michaels with a dumpster near us is an hour away and there is never anything in it 😭 and targets only have compactors not dumpsters
