  • The historic Gaslamp Quarter is one of San Diego’s most iconic neighborhoods. It’s a popular destination for both tourists and locals. But it wasn’t always that way. In tonight’s News 8 Throwback Jim Gordon reports on plans to revitalize the area in 1974 and then fast forward to 1992 when Hal Clement visited in the beginning of its heyday.

    The good ole days!!! I remember my grandma and I always catching the bus and go shopping Downtown when I was a child.

    no homeless people, the look on people's faces, the vibe the public gave off itself is so different now.

      There were some homeless people. Not as many as today. A lot of drugs and selling drugs back then.
