Superb video! Wonderful to find someone speaking the rationale that has passed through their own head. I was about to go and buy the M2 iPad Pro 11" 256 tomorrow morning, and RUclips recommends this video to me. I've been using iPad Air 2 for like 8 years or something. And it has finally started lagging. I want to buy an iPad for note-taking mostly. I'm starting engineering. I also plan to use it for my creative freelance projects. The reason I planned for Pro was because I've been trying out the 120hz display at Apple stores for quite some time now. And each time.. it looks so fluid and amazing. I want that 😭. I'm also worried that if I do go for 13" Air, the size might be a little too big for me and not portable. But at the same time a larger display will be super useful for note-taking. I'm so confusedddddd Gosh.
@@anjanagowtham But then it's too expensive. And I already have a 13" MacBook Air. I think it makes sense to have a smaller device. And as I will be travelling more, I think there is a level of portability that I wish for my tab. A (mostly psychological) friction. Plus I thought if I'm going for iPad Pro M2 256 (₹90k) I'd then spend the extra and get M4 256 (₹100k). Then I convinced myself that the 120hz is something I'll be forgetting soon and just save 20k instead. So I've finally decided to get iPad Air M2 11" 256 (₹70k). 😅 I'm so excited I couldn't sleep last night haha.
@@leiiryu Hii! I had a cash crunch and haven't bought it yet. 😅 But I've almost decided on buying the iPad Pro 11 inch. From what I've seen I'm like 99% sure that 11 inch will be better. But a 13" iPad will definitely come with more friction in using it. So.. yeah. What's the situation with you? Student?

I don't own an ipad but want one. After watching this I'm leaning towards the 10th gen one because I like the function row included with the older keyboard. I'm on an old 2012 iMac using Catalina so yeah I'm finding the pricing really high lately. Looking to get a new iMac or a laptop instead to replace this one. Thinking an ipad might help me go a bit longer until they bring out new iMacs. Or I may get the Mac Studio with an external monitor. I don't like the lacking function row in the new ipad air keyboard. The new pro is just too expensive when I could get a Macbook Air instead. I really want an ipad just to explore Procreate as I've never used it and am curious about it. Also want to use Davinci Resolve as my older iMac can only handle shorter videos with the 17 version.

So now I'm deciding between iPad Pro 11 M2 for 800$ in my country, iPad Pro 12.9 M2 (Cellular) for 1000$ and iPad Pro 11 M4 for about 1000$ too. I'm a PWM sensitive person especially for Samsung's OLED screens (I got the info that all 11 inch M4 Pros have Samsung screens). So it's a bit easier now. iPad Pro 11 M2 seems the best deal for money, but can't stop thinking about 12.9 inches mini-LED cellular for just 1000$, oughhhhh.
Amazed that you compared pro 2022 vs air 2024👍
Thanks! They both are very similar in price point. I was considering the 2022 iPad Pro for me.
hey, i use for only writing notes also with media what should i choose (i am studnet , writing notes)
I’d still recommend the iPad Air 13 inch
Ive been waiting over a year for a new ipad to release, and apple makes it even harder to buy a ipad, idk if the 120hz display is better or the new apple pencil pro is😢 its so hard to decide
If you are an artist or someone who relies heavily on the Apple Pencil, I would lean towards the new Apple Pencil pro. But yes, Apple is making it really hard to decide
I've been trying to find someone comparing the 2022 ipad pro and 2024 air so thank you. My needs are different though as I'm wanting it for art and not media or video editing. I don't like Apple for their marketing rubbish. It confuses me.
For art too, the larger screen will be a big plus. Hope it works out for you. I wish Apple makes the lineup a little easier to pick
@@anjanagowtham thank you for replying. They have made it hard to make a decision that’s for sure.
What do you think about the 12.9” M2 iPad Pro?
Great buy. But pretty expensive tbh. You can get a MacBook Air for that price
IPS with 60Hz (poor response time) in 2024 for this price . Little a bummer. Apple, put a 500-600 Nit 90Hz OLED in the Air. For Tandem OLED with 120Hz you can upsell to the Pro M4.
Fair point. Even a 90hz would have been a good value
Beautifully explained.
For me camera position is also important which u didn't covered or didn't give importance.
Pricing is not correct.
Thanks for the comment. Now the M2 iPad Pro has become cheaper than when I made this video. This makes it a more difficult purchase decision
I am experiencing the the IPad Air 13” getting heated near the front camera when taking notes using the Apple Pencil pro and especially while using Goodnotes.
Anyone experiencing the same.
Has anyone found out a solution for this issue?
Hmmm interesting. I haven’t experienced this personally.
Is it good to taking notes or you feeling any lag as it is 60hz refresh rate, are you facing any irritation? Please let me know

My main purpose is notetaking and teaching.
For gaming purpose?
Hi good Video! Thank you. How does the 13” IPad work in Tablet mode. Can you hold it for an extended period of time? I had a 12.9 and returned it, I had the 11 and loved it but for productivity it was limited .. Thanks you have a new subscriber…
The new air is lighter. But holding a 13 inch iPad more than 10 mins is definitely straining
Thank you for that information. It’s very in-depth for you to share all that to a degree. Yes, I know that to be true too. I know how they kind of structured their pricing with what they do and how they do it but at the same time I like how you shared the information, I would do photos and videos and you can use a smaller chip to do everything. You actually help me out too because I was thinking the same way..
So I really do thank you for sharing that information at the M2 chip is more than enough. Otherwise I do recommend going with the highest internal storage being one terabyte at 1:28 so I do thank you for the information and it was helpful.
Take care hopefully I’ll see you in the next video

I am a student. I want a to play high graphics game in ipad so which device is better according to u ipad pro 2022 or ipad air 2024
Answer it
I am little bit confused
Hmmm. Since both have the exact same processor, there might not be a big difference. iPad Pro has 120hz display while iPad Air has bigger screen. You might have to pick the feature you want the most. I’d lean towards the 13 inch air since the large screen will be nice for other tasks as well
M2 iPad Pro 2022!
Is there a specific feature that made you lean towards the 2022 pro?
I am from tamilnadu , with my student ID i am going to buy ipad air 13 inch by today..I am gonna customize my name in ipad as well as in apple pencil pro but it takes a lot of time to get delivered .., for a medical student which is better ipad pro 2022 or ipad air 13inch 2024 ? I am very excited 😁
I’d still suggest the 13 inch because the bigger screen makes a big difference compared to other benefits of pro. Hope it works out for you. Thanks!

There is definitely a difference. Pro is much smoother. But for the price, it should be okay. The larger screen is a big plus
It’s a shame apple themselves do not give a fair trade in.. 2022 m2 12.9 iPad Pro 1tb a trade in value of just £548 against the equivalent m4 version 😮 no loyalty from them when looking to upgrade
That’s low for a device that retails for over twice the price.
I have a iPad Pro 2018, so do you think that upgrading to the iPad Air 13 inch would be a downgrade? I am so used to the 120 hrtz display in my iPhone 15 pro max and iPad 2018 pro. Thanks
I think coming from a pro, you will notice noticeable difference in promotion display, Face ID and speakers.
Hey there! I have a question, for uni. and watching movie-shows yt etc. Which one should i buy; ipad air m2 11" or ipad pro m2 11" (all of them with pencil tho) ? In my country the ipad pro m2 11" is 5k more than new ipad air so which one is better for long term? New ipad is 2 years younger and it will be get more updated that's the two reason im stuck with it: m2 pro price and update stuff... 🤷🏻♀️ and also is it big enough 11"? I want to buy the 13" but the price diff is literally 10k its so much tho. I would like to state that the iPad I bought can be updated for at least 6-7 years and that I want to use it for a very long time without lag or other problems.
If you are considering 11 inch and price is a factor, the m2 iPad Air 11” should be good enough. It’ll last a long time for media and productivity.

I wondered too which ipad shoud I choose between Ipad air 13" over iPad Pro 11(2022), I even thought about Samsung galaxy tab S9 ultra but it will be not the same like ipad. It will be my first ipad, I want to use it for drawing even though I don't paint professionally - i want it just for fun and watching videos on it and now it is quite difficult for me to decide which model I should choose - maybe air 13"
Exactly my use case as well. Before the release, I set my mind on 2022 iPad Pro assuming there will be a decent price reduction. Unfortunately that went for a toss
@@anjanagowtham and one question - how long will it work for me because I read comments that some people have the screen suddenly turn black after 4.5 years of use?
Ipad pro 11 inch m4 has an oled screen. If you watching videos oled is the way to go.
Cost is a big factor…I mean by the time you buy the 13 inch pro and keyboard you could have bought a MacBook Air…makes no sense to me…and in this economy….. air for me now i have to decide 11 or 13 “
For 999, MacBook Air is honestly a better product for sure

Apart from having a big screen, there is another advantage, especially for artist in using iPad Air 2024 13" over iPad Pro 2022 because this version (Air 2024) supports Apple Pencil USB C and also Apple Pencil Pro which gives you a great feature called barrel roll, very useful for artists whereas 2022 iPad Pro doesn't support new Apple Pencil Pro. It is only compatible with Pencil 2 or USB C Pencil. Besides, iPad Pro 2024 also supports Apple Pencil USB C and Apple Pencil Pro which is obvious.
I completely agree. From an artist point of view, the Apple Pencil pro is a significant upgrade over previous model. In that case, the 13 inch air makes more sense! Thanks for commenting!

That 13” ipad air looks fire. I’d rather have that over the m2 11 iPad Pro personally.
It does look good in person. Is it because of the color options?
@@anjanagowthamthe value for me, I like the bigger screen for the price and the pro isn’t worth $500 more for what I will use the iPad for. It’s too limited imo to justify spending that much more. They both use the same exact software so eh.

Fair point. How about you consider an M2 iPad Pro 12.9 inch? It might check all your boxes
You could have got ipad pro m2 2022 @@Muhammed.Yaseen
@@Muhammed.Yaseen So, what's your review of the 11" ? Do you regret not getting the 13" ?
@@leiiryu Hii! I had a cash crunch and haven't bought it yet. 😅 But I've almost decided on buying the iPad Pro 11 inch. From what I've seen I'm like 99% sure that 11 inch will be better. The reason people take iPad when they want to do some computing task over a laptop is because it feels like it is a smaller hassle. A reduction in friction. But a 13" iPad will definitely come with more friction in using it. So.. yeah. What's the situation with you? Student?
This video helped so much love your work ❤❤
Am glad it was helpful 😊 cheers
Now Apple Intelligence will come and so the M2 chipset has become more important and better for the future of this device.
Agreed. I made a whole video on Apple intelligence too
Best buy is not the best estimation of market price, especially for apple products.
I just ordered a used 2022 M2 iPad pro 11 inch bundled with 2nd gen Apple Pencil + a case for the same price of a new 11 inch iPad Air M2 + Apple Pencil with USB-C.
The only negative is not having a fresh battery due to degradation.
Agreed. Apple refurbished iPads come with a new battery though. Might be a good trade off
Im also getting the 13” iPad Air ❤
🙏
didi this is simple marketting apple ipads are very strictly and if someone wants a decent ipad but do not want a pro ipad as it's highly overpriced in that case this price range is like a ladder with each variant having ++50$ that that ends everyone who have even a little bit of flexible budget at ipad air m2 so congrats you got trapped but i feel like this variant is quite worth it
picked up the m2 pro 256gb for only $650 brand new, i mean unless u neeed a 13 inch, pro is alot better in every way
Wow. Is there an offer going on?
If da Vinci is one of your top priorities, I’d consider a MacBook Air. Editing on an iPad isn’t a great experience yet, at least for me
@@anjanagowtham Thanks that's what I'm wondering if I'll be frustrated with editing on it.I use my mom's Macbook Air M1 to edit longer Davinci videos and that's a 13".
It is definitely not appropriate pricing from the pov of the consumer, but, pretty much perfect for Apple itself, I'd say.
100% agreed
After you did all of that analysis, you can’t say Apple ripped you off. You knew precisely what you were paying for and you decided to pay it. I would have jumped up to the 11-inch m4 which you could use for another 6 years. Good job on the video. :)

Not sure why you’re comparing to phones and the 11 inch iPad Pro when you should be comparing it to the 12.9 inch m2 iPad Pro. I see when you would not be able to make a video about how the 2022 is a better iPad for the money………..because it isn’t. That’s because a 2022 m2 iPad Pro 12.9 inch still sells for well over a $100 more than the new 13” AIR. But,that wouldn’t make for a RUclips video.
