Unfortunately no it's not the right tool for instrument engraving, that tool is more for firearms and jewelry. powered engraving tools generally aren't used in band instrument engraving.
Im curious Would it be okay to instead use a dremel and engraving bits to do the same type of job? And if so what are the pros/cons in your opinion? I want to get into making custom trombones and i do most of my engravings with a dremel And im just seeing videos seeing how much information i can get before i start experimenting with the scrap trombone bella i have. Thank you for reading and i hope you are able to respond to my question
Would you do smaller instruments like a trumpet or a cornet? Does the finish (lacquer/silver plate/raw brass) of the instrument affect the price? How much would a completely custom design typically cost, and what's the turnaround time?
Yes we can and have! The material could effect how long it takes to complete the work depending on the plating. That sounds like a job we should talk about directly. Please contact us for a quote, we can talk about the scope of the work and how much time it will take. That will give you a good idea of the cost for your project! questions@musicmedic.com

We would highly recommend learning the traditional techniques of engraving before experimenting with more outside of the box methods.
Very cool job and precious tips. Pls, which is the liquid you use to transfer the design from the paper onto the brass sheet? thanks
To transfer the design we use Acetone, but be careful because it can remove or damage lacquer.
