Well, there are many different opinions what exactly "ideal" is. Just take Republicans vs. Democrats. I could state my opinion, but this is not a political discussion and it's just an example that people see things differently. But I just wanna say that there will be always a hook or flaw in the system, no matter how hard someone tries to make such a big construct work. You can never please everyone, so "ideal" like "perfect" is basically impossible to achieve. All you and everyone can do, is trying to be polite, respect rules, think ahead and make the best out of your situation. I see a lack of that these days (more and more), so if someone wants the good 'ol times back, there is a start.
Born and bred in south London in Peckham I'm 19 but me and my dad chill in the bedroom then we get out all his vinyl's and listen to all this era of music I wish I could go back to this timeless music and thanks to my dad and that for bringing me up with these beautiful sounds!
Worked with these in Nov 91 when they released "special night" on the PWL label. They are amazing people and great singing live. They did a live accapella just to prove to the so called top DJ's in St Helens, Merseyside that they were live. Fantastic memory!!!! Shocked at how small Lorraine is in person but oh so cute ;)
2018 Xmas day... 25 years of age listening to these classics..... before my birth but due to mother and family members with great music taste I am here 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
yes this music will live on and on not making music like these any more shame but a lot of us still appreciate these rare style of music still sounds alive and kicking all the time big massive thank you for this RUclips thankyou

Absolutely correct, the UK soul/funk scene was massive, but kind of underground. These made the charts a few times, but so many similar bands are forgotten: I-Level being one of my favourites Nick Straker/The Nick Straker band did some awesome tunes. Hi-Tension Beggar and Co The Real Thing Lynx Central Line Freeez To name a few. I spend my weekends going round charity shops looking for all the forgotten 70's/80's stuff
It's all good, here have a list of some similar Brit-funk bands, enjoy. I-Level being one of my favourites Nick Nick Straker band did some awesome tunes. Hi-Tension Beggar and Co The Real Thing Lynx Central Line Freeez Total Control
@@eyesodd hey thanks for the list, I know a few of these acts pretty well. The others I've heard of them but maybe not checked them out much yet. Freeez is definitely a favorite of mine. IOU is a great classic jam. I like the post-Freeez John Rocca tracks too. the Brits made some awesome early House/Trance/Rave music too, like in the very early 90's? I like the two Ultraviolet records A LOT. Kites and "I Wish That" are both nice. I think they're from '90 & '91.
@@HiNRGboy That was a quick list off the top of my head, it's far from exhausted! I forgot Shakatak aswell! I was listening to the Freeez album earlier while sorting my vinyls 👍. The UK had what was termed "The Northern Soul Movement", a few Dj's w were going to the US and finding all the obscure stuff that although American became known as northern soul. Brit-funk sort of stemmed from that. Later in the 80's when samplers and synths became more prominent, it moved towards the Chicago house scene. From that the UK "Rave" culture was born around 88/89, which gave us drum n bass, hardcore, jungle, trance, the UK is/was definitely a major player in the music business when freedom was allowed to rein. Now it's all the same, modern music us just full to my ears.
I love this and heard it quite a few times! It’s crazy just I never bother to remember the name. Had the toughest time finding the name when the rhythm started randomly popping in my head! Big thanks to Irfane’s mix for Thump! 😍😍😍😍😍
I remember watching Michael Jackson's Thriller video at Lorraine and Steve's apartment in a block of flats in London when i was a kid..it was a one off visit, but i remember thinking.. wow, how beautiful Lorraine was. Fck knows where that reggae lp of there's went that we had. Still, this is my fave tune by them.

Lorraine has an amazing voice she is with Jamiroquai now as a backing singer
@@Meltdown555 She should never be a backing singer. Too much talent. I just found my signed copy of special night too.
@@colinquilliam wow you are so lucky to have met her,
She did a great track with bomb the bass 😊
How small? 😂 She has a powerful voice overall but her tone on these CN records does kinda sound like it’s coming from tiny adorable vocal cords

One of those songs that makes you get nostalgic! Great jam!
Touches my heart this group/song. Takes me back to those fun and happy days. Will never get those fun spirited days back.
