Does it count as an assist? I thought assist was only given when the assisted player gets a few touches on the ball..

Well there are times where the referee does help you. Might as well say ”I’ll gladly take it!”. Bayern Munich fan here, that and Neuer’s penalty save was crucial.

Can someone fill me in on why Kane's goal was given? It was offside clearly and the ball was not coming from an opponent who was directly trying to play it, am I missing something?
The ball did actually come from the opponent. There is a better angle showing it from behind the goal on the Sky Sports highlights. Hard to see otherwise tbf

The ball was played by the Augsburg defender in an attempt to clear it. The question isn’t if Kane was offside - he was - the question is who got the last touch before the goal, which was the Augsburg defender. Which plays the goal onside.
Don’t like that we didn’t see the first offside goal lines, looked onside to me

First goal was never offside
It literally was. The lines were drawn and it was shown during the game, VAR checked it. He was marginally ahead of De Ligt. Stop crying when you didn’t watch the game.
