The one and only Mr Harold Hall. A legend in the world of home shop engineering and model engineering. I have a number of books published by Harold but it is really nice to see some of his ingenuity posted on RUclips. Thanks for all the great tips and techniques, Harold👍
Harold, I'm not in my 40s yet- but I've been reading your work since the start of my career. Your ideas, projects and knowledge are legendary, I've lost count of the hours I've spent reading your work. I'm overjoyed you created a youtube channel and we can see you with your work in action. Thank you for all you've published, and thank you for creating this channel. I can't believe I found it this late.
Dear Harold, I have seen the photos and read about your dividing head but it was a pleasure seeing you, the designer and builder, demonstrate its capabilities. Your dividing head design and plans have been on my to-do wish list and now becoming more of a reality seeing the actual machine in use. Thank you and regards, Paul Jones
Yeah this design is awesome. And seems far easier to build for the home shop. I dont mean that negatively, or in any way that takes from the genius engineering that went into this dividing head. Honestly, its relative simplicity is what adds to the genius of this dividing head. Ive been researching designs for quite some time, and this is the first one that is achievable with my equipment in my shop. Thank you for this video and all the information you have shared!
@@Sarcasmarkus Yes indeed. I shall don my monocle 🧐 and pour a single malt upon the ice I mined from the purest comets in the Kuiper Belt in my glass made of pure diamond as I machine this dividing head. *harumph* indubitably lol
Yes, it certainly adds another in-depth layer to the learning process for me. Often times a view of the whole in operation will make sense out of it's parts, providing the final assembly in my mind's eye.
What more can I say, I bought your book - Dividing - Workshop Practice series No.37 By Harold Hall. Just brilliant. I'll have all your books very soon.
Hello Harold, what a lovely job you made, excellent video, its great for hobbyists to have the opportunity to be able to build with plans a tool that is small enough and within the range of machines that they have, there are not too many tools of this size available on the market, Edmund...........Alberta
Thanks all for your comments. Unfortunately though, at 84 (2017), I now find it necessary to limit my involvement in my website and videos as the brain is not as agile as it once was. However, should you want to contact me, use the contact page on my website, here, www.homews.co.uk/page6.html . Do please read my comments there before posting. Harold
The plans for making the dividing head are in my book "Dividing" widely available. Typically from Amazon. See also my website at www.homews.co.uk/page137.html

Its both very sophisticated and fairly simple at the same time
