Diamond-shaped belt-holes make sense, because it better approximates the oval shape that the hole always needed to be.

Ha! I bought a great pair of John Lobb Paris City II shoes in navy last month in London. The left shoe fit great out of the box. The right shoe, on the other foot, not so much. So, in addition to several attempts at stretching the leather using leather stretching spray, wearing multiple pairs of socks, inserting chop sticks over the shoe trees, etc., I finally got the perfect fit by wearing the shoes to bed for a few nights. So, don’t knock it until you try it. 😁 My next step (ahem) was going to be to call Amara to see if she would help reshape my new shoes for me. I live in the neighborhood. 🤓 Great content.

This series of bespoke shoes have been amazing. My budget is not but enough to buy a pair of bespoke shoes let alone make this pairing with the belt but seeing that craftsmanship and dedication from Amara and all this great information is absolutely great.

I've collected over twenty pair of shoes over the years.
Sometimes I've gotten lucky and the trees are in the vintage ones when I buy them.
I've always specifically looked for the self adjusting trees whenever I go out junk shopping... I usually get them for around $3 per pair.
Of course they're not "bespoke" and fit exactly to the shoes... But in the case of any leather shoe, something is better than nothing to help keep their shape.

Content idea: I'd love to see Raphael do a video challenge where he has to break rules on purpose and make it work anyway: example, making a jewel tone shirt work (if he can even find one) - that kind of thing - the opposite of his own advice but finding a way to still make it work.

I do have 3 3 pice coiled shoe trees that i carved so they fit more to shape of my feet. That way i keep natural wrinkles that i appreciate on my boots with out allowing them to go to deep so the leather fibers get compromised

If you are a bespoke human, with an own identity, character and presence, you don't need bespoke clothes or shoes or belt or wallet or handkerchief or socks. Save your money, spend it on carving your character instead.
