Both the line and this entire scene showcases the core aspects of both Superman and Clark Kent.
A man who grew up on Earth with loving parents flying out of the sun reminded of what is important and at stake.
He's a father, a husband, and most importantly; a human at heart.

The thing I loved about the finale is instead of it being a big knock down, drag out fight with Ally (he actually dispatches her pretty easily), the ending is more about his relationships with the people he cares about. He gets as much power from them as he does the sun.

Smallville Superman was able to tank a nuke like it was nothing, he simply got dirty and made a joke out of it afterwards
In season 10 he was able to run from the US to the UK in less than 5 seconds and then back to the US in less than that
He was able to run to the North Pole in 5 to 10 seconds a few episodes later
He was able to beat the spirit out of Darkseid from Lionel Luthor’s body and shortly after he was able to carry a whole burning planet the size of Jupiter or bigger than that out of the solar system
After Season 8, Clark trained in Kryptonian and several other Alien martial art styles
In season 8 he was able to beat Doomsday by sending him deep into the Earth’s core
Smallville Superman has been able to beat magic powered Superheroes on multiple occasions
He has been able to resist Kryptonite long enough to defeat his opponents or outsmart them
He has tanked hundreds of high caliber weapons
In the season 11 comics he single handedly defeated the Anti Monitor
Smallville Superman was so ridiculously overpowered that the only live action Supermen that could give him a run for his money is Tyler’s Superman and Routh’s Superman. It’s no wonder he wasn’t on Crisis on Infinite Earth because Smallville’s Superman would’ve clapped the Arrowverse Anti Monitor. DCEU Superman would get clapped in seconds by Smallville’s Superman. Sorry if that pisses off DCEU Superman fans, but Cavill’s Superman is pretty weak compared to other live action versions of Superman. I mean DCEU Superman had troubles carrying an astronaut ship, he could barely hold an oil rig facility and he nearly died with a nuke, not to mention he got clapped by Doomsday

(The whole flying around the earths in this one was probably a bit of fan service for us to the original movie. Reversing time here would actually make more sense than just punching the earth really hard to split them, but that's ok.)

I've been watching a lot of clips of this show... and I already own Smallville and Lois and Clark as well as all the older movies.
It's just now, well, most of the Superman actors are young enough to be my sons or grandsons. Christopher Reeve was one year younger (than I am)
. He was born 52, I was born 51. It is so sad he died the way he did. He was a great actor and I'd love to see what he could have accomplished if he had lived to his 70s.

This shows the potential power that Superman possesses. Not even a parasite who successfully drained Superman of his powers before could fully drain Superman when he was super charged by the sun. Superman took the merged Ally down quite easily, and still saved both versions of Ally, despite the harm they tried to cause to 2 worlds. It shows that Superman is more than just powerful. It shows the compassion that makes Superman a hero. Then Superman with his enhanced powers did what he usually does, save the world, or two worlds in this case. Superman really is the greatest superhero.

Because it shows us that both Clark and Superman persona/personalities are different. It also shows us to compassion Superman has, even for his villains. Tyler Hoechlin is the best Superman since Christopher Reeve. I like Cavill, but he plays Superman and Clark the same way. Very one dimensional. Tyler makes you get attached to Kent and almost makes you feel that they are 2 different people. Awesome job, I hope it stays around for a bunch of seasons. #BringbackDoomsday!
