The most amazing thing about Superman in any iteration is that he is a living god capable of shifting the orbit of the planet on one hand, but also a “person” who enjoys breakfast in the morning with his family and high school football games with his kids. Given what he is capable of doing, he is more remarkable for what he chooses not to do.
After a long time, finally found a comment which absolutely nails the essence of Superman in my opinion. "He is remarkable for what he chooses not to do" - sums it up beautifully.
I personally think, the decision to make superman, correction, Clark to have a family is the perfect direction they took for the show. Because it shows us that both Clark and Superman persona/personalities are different. It also shows us to compassion Superman has, even for his villains. Louis put it perfectly in the episode before the finale when she said that what makes him Superman isn't his powers, it's his heart. I almost teared up man, I was like " YESSSSS FINALLY, YESSSS, SUPERMAN IS TREATED AND WRITTEN RIGHT"
I have always wondered how he is able to mate with a mortal woman, a being with that type of power levels having sexual relationships with human females should be impossible. Hancock was a prime example of how realistically impossible that should be.
Everything about this episode was 5 stars. It was the best like reading a comic. They got this spot on. That last scene was something you would expect out of a movie. Just epic. That landing can we get the screensaver for that already.
I loved Tom Wellings interpretation of Clarks journey to become Superman and i equally love Tylers interpretation of Superman, absolutely awesome shows both of them.
Everything about this was amazing starting with them showing what he is to everybody. He clark, a father and superman all at once, then they showed a glimpse of just how powerful he really is if he chose to be
Okay so I just finished watching the finale...and I gotta say Superman bathing in the sun & that one punch scene was the most epic, cinematic & beautiful segments in comic book history for me...I was literally in tears
@Lucky Dalton oh yeah, in this episode were some great references to All Star Superman, Superman II and the fight between Superman and The World Forger. This series is the definition of Superman.
Much as I appreciate how Tyler Hoechlin is embodying classic Superman, credit has to go to the writers for giving the whole cast such strong stories to play.
He went light speed and then some, now that is how you show off his strength, and he soaked up the sun like allstar superman, and hit the ground like he saw someone from the 6th dimension! #MOSTCOMICACCURATE

well, in superman 4, albiet we all know it is a farce compared to the rest of the other reeves movies, that being said, he did literally push the entire moon hundreds of miles in a few seconds with little effort to cause a solar ecplise, but yeah this is defintely right there. as for speed, reeves was also shown to go faster than light. i think what he did here was being super powerd by the sun to levels beyond what he normally does, he built him near light speed combined with insane strength and combined it to do what he did
@@blaiseyyyy that's in the comics whe are talking about the Live action Supes and their feats. Unfortunately in the live action version of Smallville Superman he has no universal feats. He punched the god out of her, and then punched her planet back to its own universe. Ive crunched the numbers and done the math. The science behind this checks out.
Tell us how powerful was that feat in numbers. My personal opinion is that was a Reality warping busting punch. Because even the bizarro's Sun was merging with the other Sun and superman sent back the bizarro wolrd and all the stelar things to their universe.
It's obvious how much Todd Hellbeing(the EP) loves Superman every episode showcases that. This is definitely the best live action Superman show I've seen with Smallville being second. We got the most powerful version of SM here and it was awesome! I'm gonna miss it during its long hiatus.
This series shows the difference in product featuring a long-standing character, when the people in charge know and truly respect that character, and understand what makes him so beloved for so long.
I mean he also got supercharged. Henry Cavill Superman also showed how broken he was against steppenwolf who bodied the other heroes, and then Superman showed up and just dogged him around w ease and then lasered his horns off and then kept punching and lasering him. Question: Did he absorb so much that when he allowed her to touch him it had no affect on him and she took too much that it harmed her? Hella of an episode on the edge of my couch.
Shows just how much he could absorb. He lost enough solar energy to completely fill Parasite's hunger and still had enough energy to split them apart and separate the earth again. Even after all that he was just back to his normal self which mean he still had lots of energy to spare.
She bite off more than she can chew. Regular Superman she could have absorb because just like in comic Superman gets much stronger the more sunlight he absorbs an this was too much energy for her. Sundip Superman is a different animal.
Tyler Hoechlin is the best Superman since Christopher Reeve. I like Cavill, but he plays Superman and Clark the same way. Very one dimensional. Tyler makes you get attached to Kent and almost makes you feel that they are 2 different people. Awesome job, I hope it stays around for a bunch of seasons. #BringbackDoomsday! P.s. John Henry is badass!
Well it's hard to Act like a Weak Southern nerd from Kansas when you're a HULKING British dude who has like no idea how to be American 😂 let alone a weak Farmboy from kansas... Tyler being American helps him ALOT
He really does make it feel like theyre two different people doesnt he? It's Tyler's acting plus the writing style. And the moments that they converge into one person as Superman in the small and big moments is so subtle yet convincing. This show is so respectful and justifying of Superman's character.
Superman is just otherworldly strong. He does not need rage, magic, webbing, a hammer or a utility belt. He is THE Superman!!! Now and forever. His raw power is ineffable and his morals are invulnerable.
Finally writing that pays homage to Superman's power. I was getting Superman one million undertones with him healing and powering himself within the sun and coming out more OP than usual.
This ending WAS SOOO EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I freaked out when superman powered up! and when Lois tells the truth about superman to her friend. EPICCCCCC@!!!!!
I find it really cool that you can see the solar energy beneath his skin. Technology that means that whatever part of his body is absorbing the solar energy is beneath his skin and is in his cells. I don't really know why but I just found that cool.
Any OG Superman fan will relish in the awesome Christopher Reeve throwback to when he flew around the world to turn back time and save Lois.
@@blessbeyahgodofshem he was in a depowered state when he did the deed with lois pretty simple.
Swamp Thing had to depower Superman in Rebirth as his presence alone was destablizing the planet.

this has to be the strongest live-action version of superman I mean he was able to separate 2 earths with just one punch!!!
well, in superman 4, albiet we all know it is a farce compared to the rest of the other reeves movies, that being said, he did literally push the entire moon hundreds of miles in a few seconds with little effort to cause a solar ecplise, but yeah this is defintely right there. as for speed, reeves was also shown to go faster than light. i think what he did here was being super powerd by the sun to levels beyond what he normally does, he built him near light speed combined with insane strength and combined it to do what he did
Before this feat there was the Superman Returns when he lift the continent which contains a lot of kryptonite.
