Thank u for that great idea.
I would LOVE IT if you did a Vegreen Nature Mucin vs. Jumiso Snail/Peptide Comparison! Personally, I tried the Vegreen Essence, alongside the matcing toner, as a substitute to snail mucin and I was pretty convinced at the end of the month that I could probably swap it. I've been a longer time user of the Classic CosRx 96. But it Would be great to see what YOUR results would be, especially a side by side! Thanks again for another awesome Sincare Empties Vid! Yes!! Yeah I couldn’t believe I found myself going, “…can I actually go without snail mucin!?” Turns out the answer to that is yes, after all these years lol (no regrets though, cosrx served me well for a loooong time 😄)
You're aside about J- beauty sunscreen for the body made perfect sense to me. My longtime favorite is hatomugi. It comes in a 400 ml pump bottle and is often on sale through yes style. It's not very sunny where I live so the 31 SPF is plenty for me

It was $13 on Amazon ( yesterday ) and the blackberry cream essence was $17. I've tried both. The cream was way too heavy for my skin and my skin is more on the dry side. It was sticky and my skin felt sticky in certain areas all day. It also sat on my skin. I returned it. Hi Alice, I really like to see a review of RNW products since they claim the line is suitable for more sensitive and dry skin. 😊 Trying out the History of Whoo minis now and I like the cream texture. Right now my skin needs the acne breakout treatment again as the weather is turning hot ... 🥵
For the essence side by side, I don't know if I'd presume a serum and essence would be an apples to apples comparison, but it would still be interesting to see given how many people treat the snail essences like a serum and the advertised high percentages of snail. As far as it not being necessary, to each their own but I do find it's a nice calming/restorative boost especially if your barrier is damaged. As far as Chogongjin goes, after watching your review I picked up a few creams/eye creams from Stylevana, then just this week Missha had the serums/essence/emulsion of the Chogongjin Geumsul line for $13 each, so I've got a series of products to try at some point. Regarding the Interface moisturizer, I take 1 of two options. I'm either going to just not care when it runs out since I'll have another available product and will buy a replacement next time there's a sale, or I stock up during a sale so I have an available backup when I run out. I can't imagine wanting to compare weight, though I have a very strong idea of when I'll run out given I only have 2 moisturizers open at any time. Finally with the sunscreen, I think I get what you're saying but feel like there are some body sunscreens from k-beauty in the same camp at a better price point. I generally feel j-beauty sunscreens are much more expensive than k-beauty and therefore some people are less likely to use them vs. an on-sale Korean sunscreen. That said j-beauty also just seem more "familiar" to what I wore before I got into skincare, and therefore could be a good gateway product.
Oh wow, you got a steal on the Chogongjin products! Please do let me know how they go for you - personally I’m blown away (err I may have made that obvious 🤣) And yeah, that’s been my stance with most products. I am certainly not about to run out of any step, but there are a small handful of products that I always want to have around. Interface, especially the new formulation, is creeping up on that list. Such a hit from the brand imo! And yep it’s the speed/sensation of J-Beauty. I have a sneaking suspicion there’s a divide between skincare enthusiasts (who might just enjoy massaging moisturizer into our skin, taking the time to appreciate it…) and those who use skincare in a utilitarian sense. Enthusiasts might avoid alcohol/fragrance, folks looking to “get through” applying might appreciate the speed/lightweight feel. Or at least that’s my best guess, as a person who does love everything about skincare 🤣
Great video! I’ve been eye the ordinary peptide eye serum but I’ll stick to the peach and lily copper peptide serum around my eyes. I think it’s a new HG for me. Looking forward to your CP video. 😊
Yes and yes to both trials.... RNW has been on my wishlist for SO LONG!! I WANT IT all...I would love to know your favorites! Also, I have the Vegreen Nature mucin in my stash... Would love a side by side with the Jumiso! Great empties! Just got the Kaine Kombucha can't wait to try it out🥰
Either of those trial options sound great! I also love j-beauty sunscreens on the body, expecially the skin aqua white bottle. I cracked open my numbuzin sample size no 1 toner and it had a scent to me so I was a little scared to use it lol! did you notice anything similar? happy empties!
10:22 btw Alice, you have mentioned before the Isntree mugwort moisturizer was your favorite ‘dry lightweight’ moisturizer. Is it lighter than the mary and may one?
One thing I do with products I can't see through and therefore dont know how much I have, I take my phone flashlight and shine it behind the bottle right up against it. You can usually see level of your product doing that. And then you don't have to keep weighing your bottle
Deep dive on RNW brand and comparison of Vegan and snail mucin would be grand. Also I am repurchasing the Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask which does wonders on my ‘old lady’ neck and dec. I don’t know what it is but I love the results on my crepey skin🧡
The Cocokind serum also irritated my skin : only after using it did I notice that it has gluconolactone as the 6th ingredient. Even though PHA's are supposed to be gentler than AHA's, I strongly suspect that is the reason why it didn't work out for my sensitive skin. And yes please for the side by side of the Vegreen serum VS the Jumiso essence. 🙂
Hallo Alice, I love your empty videos! Too funny on red ♥️ my favorite color. Sorry have watched much lately I was on vacation and brought COVID home so pretty sick still on week two
trying the Abib calming toner atm, it's my second try in this category after the Missha Artemisia one.. I feel like it's just not very hydrating? finding myself needing several layers of it, the Missha one I could feel on my skin (in a good way) after just one layer. would appreciate if anyone has recommendations for slightly "thicker" (but not creamy/moisturizing) toners! btw thanks for putting me on to the mary & may blackberry cream, I mix my tretinoin with it every night 😌
Yes, I absolutely know what you mean! Try it on a cotton round and let that sit on your skin for 3-5 minutes. This prevents it from evaporating and pushes it into your skin more. I still suspect that the category may not be for everyone, but I think trying this method will help answer that on an individual level! But as for thicker, have you tried the cosrx propolis? That’s one of my favorites for hydration (assuming propolis gets along with your skin). Glad to hear you’re enjoying the M&M ☺️
There's at least one derm I follow who's almost always been kind of "meh" about Olay due to them spitting out products left and right and having higher prices than the normal drugstore stuff (though probably not so much nowadays). So yes, $43 for a serum seems a bit high even with their five special ingredients. Have you checked out the ordinary barrier serum? I know I've seen a video from Kelly Driscoll comparing it to the niod modulating glucosides one.
Yup especially with all the excellent KB options! And yes, it will be in this months new skincare try on. Although I have a lot to figure out with it at this point! I’ll have to see what Kelly thinks of it, thank you for sharing ☺️
Great video! I am going to own that I want that History of who set just for the beautiful bottles. I loved PTR products when they were affordable (90s), but I am not able to justify the prices now.
Yes please to rnw. I love the ceremide serum too. I recently tried the niacinamide serum as the ingredients sound great. Used it, dried out my chin area. Checked the ingredients again and alcohol is high. So relagated to my body to use up. I'm bummed. Also have the blanc eye cream which i love and the shining toner and emulsion ready to try. Thanks Alice. Love your vids. ❤
I don’t like or use Lancôme because they aren’t cruelty free. If you use Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy, you don’t need a separate eye makeup remover. You need very little of the cleanser and it removes waterproof mascara and makeup in one step. Therefore you save money. I’m 60 & have been using that cleanser for over 20 years now.
Not skincare related just wanted to say I dislike red too haha! It truly makes me uncomfortable and I avoid it, so weird lol. Also, tardigrade! That is so awesome, I might need that lol! 😊
Hi Alice! Thanks for another informative video! I love every single one! I will have to try the Mary and May cream. My skin is very dry and sensitive. I used to use the LRP B5 Baum until the reformulation. Now it’s for oily skin. I’m loving the PCalm Line as well. If you know of a Baum you consider equal to the LRP please let me know. I would love an RNW review! I ordered it from your recommendation. It’s not here yet. When do you apply it?
I like to use the RNW in the evenings! It can work with my retinoid and it’s cooperative with other calming serums (which I do at least every other night; I use the retinoid about 3x/week) ☺️
Oh, you were so punny today (please pardon that😂). My hubby actually laughed out loud when you said Cleopatra would be in de Nile (yes, he watches you with me).😄 Great to learn about the Biore. And yes, sorry...the red should retire.🥴 Thanks for another wonderful video, Alice! Hugs!✌️💜💚💙
Hi Alice, I wanted to ask you why you like the RNW serum so much? I wanted to tell you that I really like videos of finished products, because you can get an idea of your final results. I hope you feel better and see you in your next video 🌷
It’s one of those products where I didn’t really “see” anything per se, but after a few weeks of use, I felt that my skin was stronger/more resilient. Similar to the Manyo bifida actually!
So if you were gonna chose between the 2 toners in your empties or the Anua heartleaf toner what would u suggest, your fav. I am totally on a moisturizer hunt lol I used up abunch and decluttered so older ones so out here on a moisturizer kick for fall and winter . I saw the MM cream at marshal for super cheap and I didn't pick it up and I'm kicking myself now. I just got the Sung jong 2x barrier cream ( I'm late to the game with that ) and I have abunch more I'm eyeing. So does the Strata rewind actually give results ?? Ooo I have been wanting the Kaine essence I can't use the fresh one it bothers my skin . O btw I am with your sweetie I hate red!!! It's funny cause my dad's favorite color is red and I just can't stand it I'm a green girl that's my favorite color.
It’s a bit of a hint that the anua didn’t make it to the empties, and that was due to restraint on my behalf LOL! (favorite toners is slotted for this week 👀) I do feel Interface gives me results, namely in strengthening my skin. I started doing their egg method (with liquid gold) and WOW do I love it - the benefits of liquid gold, plus peptides, all in an admittedly fun application!! The only problem is now I don’t want to ever run out of either one 🤣 And that’s so funny, I do feel like the red and blue/green team are opposites. I like pink, so I’m team red as a consequence haha!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole 😂 I am definitely green/ blue those are my favorite colors. My mom is blue and purple . Yea I figured u were gonna say Anu ! I totally need to get on the Stratia game idk what I'm waiting for . It always seems to slip my mind idk why .
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I am about to order the egg bundle set it's onsale for 44$ and with KellyDris code or link it's an extra 10% off so I got the liquid gold , interface peptide cream and the rewind serum for 56.76
@@AliceintheRabbitHole the egg bundle is 39.72 with the snail and the KellyDris code 😉 that's a great deal ! They need to give u a code as much as u talk and rave about them .
I do like it, but I’m not in a rush to repurchase. Good for hydrating and overall skin health, but that description can apply to many toners (including some that calm a bit more, which is the attribute I really need lol!)
✨Alice✨thanks for the journey through your empties 💕 I have the same issue with the interface - the not knowing if when you run out is maddening 😩 QUESTION: would you consider (or think it could work) using interface in the fall/winter months as an emulsion? 🧐✨
Oh absolutely. I like the formula itself (I’m a believer in peptides, albeit the jury is still out from a research-backed perspective). I can attest that it layers nicely under other creams ☺️
@@AliceintheRabbitHole oh that’s enough to justify buying a back up for sure! Lol I’ve actually come to love interface even more than liquid gold 🫣 looking forward to layering! Thanks for sharing your experience Alice☺️💕
Enjoyed your video. ❤ I gave in to temptation and got both the cheongidan and jinyulhyang trial sets. Still on the first set and loving all of them, sigh... Have also ordered the chogongjin yougan toner, face and eye creams and chogongjin sosaeng jin boosting essence.😅 Do you use both the ordinary peptide serum and interface on the same day. They seem to contain completely different peptides and I am thinking of getting both.and maybe the RNW At this rate, I am going to have to drink my skincare. 😂
That goes down in history as one of my favorite trials I’ve ever done! Still not sure I can splurge on full sizes of HoW, but both brands wowed me! Yep I do use them together ☺️
@@AliceintheRabbitHole That seems to be a problem with preventative skincare. I’ve used quite a bit of it and because I’m not seeing visible results, it makes me want to buy something else, even though this cream might actually be suitable and effective.
My sensitive-as-a-rhino skin does not need toners, but oh shoot my yam Isntree cleanser purchase is actually the milk toner I clicked the wrong one? so I will be trying it until I set it aside or find someone who might need it. Oops!
Oh nooo I hate when that happens! And from what I can gather, it’s expensive to do returns to the international retailers 😩 (I’ve still never tried) Maybe a holiday gift, perhaps? (That is a nice toner for sensitive skin, indeed!)
Hallo Alice, how do you get all of cream products from a glass bottle? For example the glow recipe guava eye cream. It’s literally half of the product stays in the bottle and nothing want‘s to get out. 😭
Invert bottle, place a washcloth around the base so it doesn’t break if it does tip over, wait 20 min, remove lid! It’s helpful to transfer the product into a small container if you have one so you don’t have to keep messing with this system. Yeah this really is a flaw in the GR packaging. I love the guava line, but I hate when I’m getting low lol!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Thank you Alice, I definitely going to try it. 🙏🏻 I don’t know if I should do it, but I actually put some toner in my other serums from Glow recipe and can use it till just about the last drop. Unfortunately I cannot do the same with the eye product. 😅
The water bear is soooo cool, it can survive in absurdly low and high temperatures, in space, etc. There’s ongoing research into how they do it (so exciting!!)
As far as calming toners go , are they usually meant for overall redness/reaction irritation or does it work for acne inflammation as well? That’s usually what I look for. My pimples have been so red and painful. & I’m really interested in the numbuzin toner since it’s literally five dollars (!!) on Amazon, but there’s one extract in there that worries me. I’ve never heard of it and I can’t remember the name but I think google says it could potentially be a fragrant plant
Oh the hyacinth? Yeah, it’s a bit of an odd choice in my opinion too (and really does bring up the question of whether flowers - literal flowers - count as fragrance free in an extract form!) I would say calming products can help with either, in general at least. The inflammatory response is kind of more of a consequence from multiple possible causes
For airless pump packaging I usually turn off the lights and shine a flashlight through the tube. It isn’t an exact science, but you have an idea when you’re running low
True…that could help get an estimate at least!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I personally haven’t tried this but some ppl recommended turning the flash on, and then putting the container on top of the phone
@AliceintheRabbitHole I just shake it side-to-side in my hand & can tell the volume
In most packaging, it does work
That's a great idea !! I have this revive EGF serum I use and it's got a black tube in it so it's impossible to know when I'm running low so I can order another one but I wonder if I can see the product if I look with the light off and a flash light but I'll definitely do that with other products.
Brilliant idea, I’m going to try that!
I love your videos so so much ☺
You don't need Snail Mucus? I caught that. A RNW trial sounds sweet!
Yes!! I used to use it ALLL the time, but I barely reach for it these days. Shocking!!
That 'water bear' chromatic maxiature (lol?) is so freaking cute and cool! 🤩
Thank you!! I love him so much lol, the little “face” is too much 😍🤣
Great video 😃
It’s a tardigrade! Water bear! So cute!
😁😁 they’re such cute little animals (lots of emphasis on the word “little” there lol)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I just like that despite their tininess, they’re shaped like extra chubby Michelin men.
lmao at the timmy cameo when talking about whether kaine "statistically" was better 😅🤣
I would really like to see the RNW trial
The Cocokind serum also irritated my skin : only after using it did I notice that it has gluconolactone as the 6th ingredient. Even though PHA's are supposed to be gentler than AHA's, I strongly suspect that is the reason why it didn't work out for my sensitive skin. And yes please for the side by side of the Vegreen serum VS the Jumiso essence. 🙂
Hallo Alice, I love your empty videos! Too funny on red ♥️ my favorite color. Sorry have watched much lately I was on vacation and brought COVID home so pretty sick still on week two
😁 I like red too. It feels like a strong color, if that makes sense. Aww so sorry to hear, hope you recover quickly 💕
Tardigrade! Aka Water Bears!
Yep!! They’re such cool little animals!
I also found the cocokind stung a bit when I had an unhappy skin barrier. Its too bad, I liked it until then.
Right!? Same experience!
trying the Abib calming toner atm, it's my second try in this category after the Missha Artemisia one..
Oh wow were they affordable!? It’s such a shame how much the price has risen on some products 😔
Oh wow, that surprises me. I wonder why they included alcohol in a niacinamide serum?
I don’t like or use Lancôme because they aren’t cruelty free. If you use Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy, you don’t need a separate eye makeup remover. You need very little of the cleanser and it removes waterproof mascara and makeup in one step. Therefore you save money. I’m 60 & have been using that cleanser for over 20 years now.
Not skincare related just wanted to say I dislike red too haha! It truly makes me uncomfortable and I avoid it, so weird lol. Also, tardigrade! That is so awesome, I might need that lol! 😊
Omggg that’s exactly what Ara says! Like word for word, it makes her uncomfortable. 🤯 It must be a polarizing color!!
always love to see your empties! Was the Tooriden lip balm you mentioned the ceramide lip essence (in a yellow tube)?
Yes!! It’s such a good lip balm ☺️
brilliant, thanks so much@@AliceintheRabbitHole
RNW trial please!❤
I use my cheap sulfur soap 🧼 ($5‐7) as a mask.
Where do you get it?
@@AliceintheRabbitHole
I got mine from a health food store.
Maybe save the Lancôme bottle and pour the Neutrogena makeup remover in it to solve the stopper issue.
I had that idea but they are different sizes. Hoping I accidentally stumble upon the right fit!
AHH I can’t wait to watch this I love these
Great reviews. Have an amazing week ❌️ ⭕️
Thank you! You too! 🤗
The internal battle of wanting to finish something Vs opening something new 😂
It’s a STRUGGLE!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Thanks so much!
Hugs!✌️💜💚💙
Haha yes I suspect it’s a very polarizing color! Hope you have a great week 🥰
Thank you Alice
Emptiiiiiies!
I did miss you laying products out like that. Early on I thought my girl don't have the energy to hold the products up!😅😊 ❤
LOL, well admittedly: some days! Soooome days 🤣😂
Hate the red !!!! 😂😂😂
(favorite toners is slotted for this week 👀)
I do feel Interface gives me results, namely in strengthening my skin. I started doing their egg method (with liquid gold) and WOW do I love it - the benefits of liquid gold, plus peptides, all in an admittedly fun application!! The only problem is now I don’t want to ever run out of either one 🤣
And that’s so funny, I do feel like the red and blue/green team are opposites.
The same thing happens to me with that cocokind serum. Did not buy it again!
Is the kaine toner good? Looking to buy one day.
I gave in to temptation and got both the cheongidan and jinyulhyang trial sets. Still on the first set and loving all of them, sigh...
Have also ordered the chogongjin yougan toner, face and eye creams and chogongjin sosaeng jin boosting essence.😅
Do you use both the ordinary peptide serum and interface on the same day. They seem to contain completely different peptides and I am thinking of getting both.and maybe the RNW
At this rate, I am going to have to drink my skincare. 😂
That goes down in history as one of my favorite trials I’ve ever done! Still not sure I can splurge on full sizes of HoW, but both brands wowed me!
Yep I do use them together ☺️
👍👍👍
do you see any changes in your skin after using the Mary and may cream?
Beyond acting as a moisturizer? Hmm tbh I haven’t been looking for it to do much more. I use antioxidant rich products more in a preventive sense!
And from what I can gather, it’s expensive to do returns to the international retailers 😩 (I’ve still never tried)
Maybe a holiday gift, perhaps? (That is a nice toner for sensitive skin, indeed!)
@@AliceintheRabbitHoleoh my gosh of course! This will make a great holiday gift! Thank you 🥰
Hallo Alice, how do you get all of cream products from a glass bottle? For example the glow recipe guava eye cream. It’s literally half of the product stays in the bottle and nothing want‘s to get out. 😭
Invert bottle, place a washcloth around the base so it doesn’t break if it does tip over, wait 20 min, remove lid! It’s helpful to transfer the product into a small container if you have one so you don’t have to keep messing with this system.
Yeah this really is a flaw in the GR packaging. I love the guava line, but I hate when I’m getting low lol!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole
Thank you Alice, I definitely going to try it. 🙏🏻
I don’t know if I should do it, but I actually put some toner in my other serums from Glow recipe and can use it till just about the last drop.
Unfortunately I cannot do the same with the eye product. 😅
🐰
Cleopatra would be in "denial". You did not go there. 🤣
🤐🤣
Rnw trial please !
Hi Alice. ❌️⭕️
Cleopatra would be in de-Nile lolol so silly
First ❤ greetings from Germany
I do not know what that is! Do tell? Ya know I am old.🤣❌️⭕️
Okay I saw the answer to the gift. I still don't know what it is....👀
Did a Google search. I have never heard of the water bear!
The water bear is soooo cool, it can survive in absurdly low and high temperatures, in space, etc. There’s ongoing research into how they do it (so exciting!!)
Hahhaha dork! DeNile. 😂
I felt it coming and absolutely could not suppress that one 😆
As far as calming toners go , are they usually meant for overall redness/reaction irritation or does it work for acne inflammation as well? That’s usually what I look for. My pimples have been so red and painful. & I’m really interested in the numbuzin toner since it’s literally five dollars (!!) on Amazon, but there’s one extract in there that worries me. I’ve never heard of it and I can’t remember the name but I think google says it could potentially be a fragrant plant
Oh the hyacinth? Yeah, it’s a bit of an odd choice in my opinion too (and really does bring up the question of whether flowers - literal flowers - count as fragrance free in an extract form!)
I would say calming products can help with either, in general at least. The inflammatory response is kind of more of a consequence from multiple possible causes
Olay is high! Wth?👀❌️⭕️
LOL right!? That’s Sephora pricing!!
PTR is goofy. Nope never would I pay that❌️⭕️
