The thing I love most about raven is that she seems to be an introvert. As an introvert myself, seeing a superhero who I shared more similar characteristics to myself than typical outgoing superheroes, it was refreshing.
I totally agree. Raven can be seen as a role model for introverted/shy people everywhere. She's not 100% comfortable with socializing with others but that doesn't prevent her from being a great person who makes the world a better place. She's so awesome.

Being a reserved, bookworm, punk music loving introvert growing up. “I’m not creepy, just.. different”, that line when I first heard it almost nine years ago made me cry. Ravens a character I could relate to on so many levels, I was a lonely and often moody kid who didn’t find myself in any clique of kids. Nor did I usually like the things they liked or wanted to talk about the things they wanted to talk about. Raven helped me break out of my shell, cause if she can defeat a literal embodiment of satan WHILE conquering her loneliness and still stay true to who she is. Then I can most certainly find a friend, Raven inspires me. She really is the hopeful Titan.
At first, I didn’t understand Raven but as I rewatch her from Teen Titans now I know how it feels for not wanting to open up everything that she has to her friends, they’d leave her. I too am afraid to open up to my friends about some of my positives yet the negatives are easy for me to hold it quietly and very hard to open up, I hope one day, I won’t have to be afraid when the time is right

Raven is my favorite Titan. The original Teen Titans cartoon did the absolute best job of depicting her character. She was very caring for her friends and was passionate about protecting them especially when Terra betrayed the team
A detail that I don't think anyone has brought up in these type of videos about Raven is about her child form. When she is reverted to a small child her cloak is white because she hasn't yet closed herself off to any of her emotions since young kids just be themselves until they learn otherwise to hide parts of themselves. Just something that I noticed that never seems to be brought up but I think is really interesting detail that goes under the radar a lot.

as a writer i find writing characters like raven the hardest to write. most good and kind hearted characters are the hardest to write for because as their writer i have to give them the scars they need. to make them hurt just so they can be better as a person. which is why one of my many sayings is scars are beautiful. because they are stories of strength and perseverance.
Currently writing storys and characters myself and it can get very stressful to not loose the point out of sight, but one of the hardest challenges is explain the arc itself to others who have understandably no idea what you came up with, and I don't only mean the visual part how the environment looks! Also the mood can become more of an obstacle in that regard, cause the feelings of the characters varies from time to time and writing down a more believable emotional character is much harder if you can't feel what the personality of the characters has currently! Everyone had a dream at some point, but only a few can visualize it to others, and take the time to make it happen...!

Sage is very underrated and I always love and enjoy his videos and his prospective on characters and life. He is one of the many inspirations for my own RUclips channel and when I dig deep into a topic.

My favorite Titan is Raven! But my second favorite is Starfire(The heart). At first she was the ditzy foreigner stereotype, but as the story progress she is shown not only as the glue that keeps everyone together, but as a complex character that was raised in a world of constant survival only given love by her caretaker. Also she had to deal with racism and a toxic relationship with her sister!

I wish Starfire had her own season. One episode I really liked was when Raven and Starfire switched bodies. Their powers are the complete opposite of each other. Raven's needs control of her emotions, while Starfire's uses emotions.

Watching this video made me realize why I hate Teen Titans Go. If it was any other cartoon I'd roll my eyes and just move on with my life but I think what made me so angry was the amount of depth they took away. The show is shallow, everything the original wasn't.

None of us expected something like what we got so it left a sour taste in a lot of people's mouths. What new plots could've been resolved? We will never know. But to each his own.
I personally tried to watch one episode of ttg and hated it maybe it was just that one or maybe it was me wanting to hate it. But one thing I can say for sure is that i really dislike how it feels like nobody remembers teen titans 2003. I know the show is old and all but I somehow found out about it and literally everyone except for like 2 people i knew did not know about the show. Then when ttg came out everyone knew 'teen titans' but it was a let down when they all said ttg. I hope ttg made some people watch the original because that show will always have a special place in my heart

IDK why am I crying.... I had childhood depression and I grew up chanting Azaroth Metreone Zinthos all the time because Raven does it, because I was a sensitive kid who doesnt understand their emotions.... growing in a cruel world. Raven in arguably the most complex character in the series. Can come of cold but she deeply cares for her friends. Due to get upbringing she fight her demons every day but with her friends she slowly opens up and she will do anything to protect them. Still one of my favourite character in cartoons and anime. Until Injustice happened. P.S. Teen Titans go Raven is an insult.
What I find funny is how I don't remember much about the tv show but somehow, Raven became my role model. The way I am now is almost exactly the same as her personality. Smartass sarcasm, incredibly introverted and prefers to do everything myself
Raven reminds me so much of my best friend. From the snarky humor to her big heart, I can't help but see my bestest buddy. It just reminds me how lucky I am to know someone so wonderful.

Thank you so much for making this video. I am an introverted person and I absolutely love Raven's character. I find her stoicness and inner struggles so relatable. She is far more than her hilarious sarcastic quips and her goth girl image. She's truly a wonderful character that is the embodiment of hope and courage in the face of darkness and despair. All the props in the world to the Teen Titans writers, animators, and Tara Strong for bringing to life such a fantastic character that so many people have looked up to.
To be fair, Clark is a very positive person. Dick grew up with the King of Moodiness Bruce Wayne, so he'd know better than most how someone like Raven would not seem themselves as Good.
The hole her hope has to lift her out of is much deeper cuz in most origins of Superman Clark is late teens early 20s when he learns about krypton and what he has lost so it’s less of a trauma more a deep sadness whereas raven grew up being told she would be the key to end the world takes a lot more to be hopeful in that cercimstance
My favourite character in Teen Titans is Raven. I relate to her introvert self, and I struggle to keep my emotions in check (they even take the embodiment of myself). I never knew why I love her so much until watching this video.
I always look forward to the new Sage's Rain video. It's a look into the introspection of characters that we all loved, of scenes that we cherished, of the reminder that behind these characters is the emotions we all have. Raven to me, was always my favorite because as an adult I understand that pain all more often the more I look at myself in the mirror. I may smile, I may be happy, but inside I'm afraid.
Raven was the one I could relate too. Being the youngest of three kids, two older golden kids who were loved by my parents & community. The Rebel party animal and the intelligent Angel. I was the one who never really got along with anyone. I was always seen as the quiet, weird, antisocial kid who was constantly bullied and even physically harrassed. I feel my emotions intensely and it can overwhelm me. I once lashed out so badly I hurt my own sister. Seeing Raven be such a strong character and yet wasn't very well liked gave me comfort. That I wasn't alone and I wasn't a bad person. I was just different. I think her strongest relationship is with either Terra or Starfire. She's pitted against these two because of they mean symbolically. Raven understands the pressure Terra is under to constantly control her powers and thus emotions. Raven understands how it feels to be someone else's pawn and to feel that she has no agency whatsoever. With starfire, she's easily exhausted because starfire wears her emotions on her sleeves. She's the complete polar opposite of Raven. But the major difference is Raven is arguably responsible for the deaths of her people, the same people who raised, protected, and loved her. Starfire wasn't responsible for was happened to her people, her parents, or anything blackfire did. This contrast shows a deep conflicting mindset. Starfire repeatedly forgives her sister but Raven continuously blames herself.
Reading New Teen Titans and rewatching the show made me understand Raven from the show even more. She is such a great character, and the show is such a great adaptation Tysm for reminding me how good this show is & if you could do videos on other Titans character from the show, that would be amazing

Green and yellow make blue right? Yellow is knowledge and green is bravery. It’s the two main emotions that make Raven a good hero. Blue could probably also be seen as sadness by itself. I might be completely wrong and overanalyzing, but at the same time it seems a little too coincidental.
I loved this exploration of Raven's character. Could you do Robin next? Everyone talks about Raven in these types of videos. There should be more about all the Titans and the lessons we can learn from them.
The 2003 series triumphed when it came to portraying Raven because they made her more present in regard to the team. In the original comics, Raven barely felt like a member of the team at all. She only popped in to request something of the Titans and refused to confide in them, always leaving soon after. She would sometimes be absent for multiple issues in succession, really limiting her character development. Her whole storyline revolved around Trigon and her story was certainly much more tragic, but also came at the expense of developing her character through her relationships with the other Titans. The 2003 version of Raven was always present no matter the situation, despite knowing the same grim prophecy, and that, in my opinion, is why she became a fan favorite. We were allowed more access to her, she was allowed to exist outside of Trigon, and she was infinitely more lighthearted and likeable than the melodramatic 80’s character and not at the expense of the stakes of her character arc involving Trigon.
This video was in my RUclips recommended page... In many ways, I agree with the post’r of this video. For me, Raven was an enigma, with a crack into her personality. Her personality was built almost entirely on loss. Loss of her world, loss of friends in the past, loss of identity (partially restored being among the Titans), loss of her own father (a demonic class super-entity). She was quiet, because she closed herself off, because of her loss. Our heroes found her in a dimension her father abandoned her in. She found purpose in that her new friends gave her something useful to do. However, in many ways, she remains her fathers’ daughter. She is immensely powerful, in many areas. She even understands the reasons for her power. And in the end, she even raised her power to such a level, that with the help of her friends; she went to war against her father... and won.
After feeling real emotional pain and struggle, the Sages rain channel helps me understand others minds and their struggles, strengths, weaknesses, etc. It helps me understand that it's a natural part of life to feel pain and struggle, also helping me appreciate the struggle there's beauty in it!

Okay, Raven is one of my favorite characters, not just from Teen Titans, but probably one of my top 5 fav fiction characters of all time and hearing your final words about her, God dang it, did not expect you to make me cry😭😭😭 beautiful, deep, and impactful, like Raven! this was one of the best videos I've found on Raven and you captured her perfectly (ive been learning more about Raven from the comics, but it was from this video that I realized she has half-brothers!!). I've been watching lots of videos from ur channel lately, and i think this is the video that officially won me over; you put alot of thought and passion into ur videos, u reflect deeply on the lessons we learn from movies, shows, etc, and even on the characters that I never would've thought of. Recently I've been unveiling the artist within me that I kept inwards for some years now, and I've taken on a project to create pop culture paintings on blank handbags. My second one features one side with the Teen Titans logo, and the side I'm finishing up is one of Raven with her hands out and her wings spread, ready to fight off whatever villian that has come to harm her or her friends. Finding this video, I find myself relating to her more than I did when I was much younger. With that being said, she gives me hope. I really enjoyed this video analysis. I used to watch Teen Titans often. Aside from Robin, Raven is my favorite character on the team. In fact, she was the only one I related to. Her lack of comedy actually made her great in my eyes and in the end when she defeats Trigon, she emphasizes that she is the most powerful Titan of all. The reason why I really love Raven is because of just how freaking relatable she is. I think she's the only deepest hero in any superhero fiction i think of (well probably aside from Batman and Red X) and what I really love the most about her is her psychology. Her powers are also relates to her psyche, I just really like that concept of just how she's Overpowered but also handled that Overpowered trait with a clever writing tactics. She's such a facsinating character, aside of her being a great waifu material, aside of how her powers are great because how her powers makes sense to the narrative and how beautifully crafted it is (aka OP Done Right Character) but how she's freaking relatable and how she gotten out from her shell by helping hand from Robin. She's definetly in my top 3 fav Teen Titans characters

Currently writing storys and characters myself and it can get very stressful to not loose the point out of sight, but one of the hardest challenges is explain the arc itself to others who have understandably no idea what you came up with, and I don't only mean the visual part how the environment looks! Also the mood can become more of an obstacle in that regard, cause the feelings of the characters varies from time to time and writing down a more believable emotional character is much harder if you can't feel what the personality of the characters has currently!
Everyone had a dream at some point, but only a few can visualize it to others, and take the time to make it happen...!

But my second favorite is Starfire(The heart). At first she was the ditzy foreigner stereotype, but as the story progress she is shown not only as the glue that keeps everyone together, but as a complex character that was raised in a world of constant survival only given love by her caretaker. Also she had to deal with racism and a toxic relationship with her sister!

I wish Starfire had her own season. One episode I really liked was when Raven and Starfire switched bodies. Their powers are the complete opposite of each other. Raven's needs control of her emotions, while Starfire's uses emotions.

Watching this video made me realize why I hate Teen Titans Go. If it was any other cartoon I'd roll my eyes and just move on with my life but I think what made me so angry was the amount of depth they took away. The show is shallow, everything the original wasn't.

None of us expected something like what we got so it left a sour taste in a lot of people's mouths. What new plots could've been resolved? We will never know. But to each his own.

I personally tried to watch one episode of ttg and hated it maybe it was just that one or maybe it was me wanting to hate it. But one thing I can say for sure is that i really dislike how it feels like nobody remembers teen titans 2003. I know the show is old and all but I somehow found out about it and literally everyone except for like 2 people i knew did not know about the show. Then when ttg came out everyone knew 'teen titans' but it was a let down when they all said ttg. I hope ttg made some people watch the original because that show will always have a special place in my heart

Raven in arguably the most complex character in the series. Can come of cold but she deeply cares for her friends. Due to get upbringing she fight her demons every day but with her friends she slowly opens up and she will do anything to protect them. Still one of my favourite character in cartoons and anime. Until Injustice happened.

What I find funny is how I don't remember much about the tv show but somehow, Raven became my role model. The way I am now is almost exactly the same as her personality. Smartass sarcasm, incredibly introverted and prefers to do everything myself

Thank you so much for making this video. I am an introverted person and I absolutely love Raven's character. I find her stoicness and inner struggles so relatable. She is far more than her hilarious sarcastic quips and her goth girl image. She's truly a wonderful character that is the embodiment of hope and courage in the face of darkness and despair. My favourite character in Teen Titans is Raven. I relate to her introvert self, and I struggle to keep my emotions in check (they even take the embodiment of myself). I never knew why I love her so much until watching this video.
I always look forward to the new Sage's Rain video. It's a look into the introspection of characters that we all loved, of scenes that we cherished, of the reminder that behind these characters is the emotions we all have. Raven to me, was always my favorite because as an adult I understand that pain all more often the more I look at myself in the mirror. I may smile, I may be happy, but inside I'm afraid.

I loved your analysis on Raven's character in the show Teen Titans. She was always one of my favorite characters.
Raven was the one I could relate too. Being the youngest of three kids, two older golden kids who were loved by my parents & community. The Rebel party animal and the intelligent Angel. I was the one who never really got along with anyone. I was always seen as the quiet, weird, antisocial kid who was constantly bullied and even physically harrassed. I feel my emotions intensely and it can overwhelm me. I once lashed out so badly I hurt my own sister. Seeing Raven be such a strong character and yet wasn't very well liked gave me comfort. That I wasn't alone and I wasn't a bad person. I was just different.
I think her strongest relationship is with either Terra or Starfire. She's pitted against these two because of they mean symbolically. Raven understands the pressure Terra is under to constantly control her powers and thus emotions. Raven understands how it feels to be someone else's pawn and to feel that she has no agency whatsoever.
With starfire, she's easily exhausted because starfire wears her emotions on her sleeves. She's the complete polar opposite of Raven. But the major difference is Raven is arguably responsible for the deaths of her people, the same people who raised, protected, and loved her. Starfire wasn't responsible for was happened to her people, her parents, or anything blackfire did. This contrast shows a deep conflicting mindset. Starfire repeatedly forgives her sister but Raven continuously blames herself.
Reading New Teen Titans and rewatching the show made me understand Raven from the show even more. She is such a great character, and the show is such a great adaptation

Green and yellow make blue right? Yellow is knowledge and green is bravery. It’s the two main emotions that make Raven a good hero. Blue could probably also be seen as sadness by itself. I might be completely wrong and overanalyzing, but at the same time it seems a little too coincidental.

The 2003 series triumphed when it came to portraying Raven because they made her more present in regard to the team. In the original comics, Raven barely felt like a member of the team at all. She only popped in to request something of the Titans and refused to confide in them, always leaving soon after. She would sometimes be absent for multiple issues in succession, really limiting her character development. Her whole storyline revolved around Trigon and her story was certainly much more tragic, but also came at the expense of developing her character through her relationships with the other Titans. The 2003 version of Raven was always present no matter the situation, despite knowing the same grim prophecy, and that, in my opinion, is why she became a fan favorite. We were allowed more access to her, she was allowed to exist outside of Trigon, and she was infinitely more lighthearted and likeable than the melodramatic 80’s character and not at the expense of the stakes of her character arc involving Trigon.
GO is the best when it comes to power levels imo

In many ways, I agree with the post’r of this video.
For me, Raven was an enigma, with a crack into her personality. Her personality was built almost entirely on loss. Loss of her world, loss of friends in the past, loss of identity (partially restored being among the Titans), loss of her own father (a demonic class super-entity).
She was quiet, because she closed herself off, because of her loss. Our heroes found her in a dimension her father abandoned her in. She found purpose in that her new friends gave her something useful to do.
However, in many ways, she remains her fathers’ daughter. She is immensely powerful, in many areas. She even understands the reasons for her power.
And in the end, she even raised her power to such a level, that with the help of her friends; she went to war against her father... and won.
After feeling real emotional pain and struggle, the Sages rain channel helps me understand others minds and their struggles, strengths, weaknesses, etc. It helps me understand that it's a natural part of life to feel pain and struggle, also helping me appreciate the struggle there's beauty in it!

Okay, Raven is one of my favorite characters, not just from Teen Titans, but probably one of my top 5 fav fiction characters of all time and hearing your final words about her, God dang it, did not expect you to make me cry😭😭😭 beautiful, deep, and impactful, like Raven! this was one of the best videos I've found on Raven and you captured her perfectly (ive been learning more about Raven from the comics, but it was from this video that I realized she has half-brothers!!). I've been watching lots of videos from ur channel lately, and i think this is the video that officially won me over; you put alot of thought and passion into ur videos, u reflect deeply on the lessons we learn from movies, shows, etc, and even on the characters that I never would've thought of. I always found her relatable, she was my character.
Recently I've been unveiling the artist within me that I kept inwards for some years now, and I've taken on a project to create pop culture paintings on blank handbags. My second one features one side with the Teen Titans logo, and the side I'm finishing up is one of Raven with her hands out and her wings spread, ready to fight off whatever villian that has come to harm her or her friends. Finding this video, I find myself relating to her more than I did when I was much younger. With that being said, she gives me hope. I really enjoyed this video analysis. I used to watch Teen Titans often. Aside from Robin, Raven is my favorite character on the team. In fact, she was the only one I related to. Her lack of comedy actually made her great in my eyes and in the end when she defeats Trigon, she emphasizes that she is the most powerful Titan of all. The reason why I really love Raven is because of just how freaking relatable she is. I think she's the only deepest hero in any superhero fiction i think of (well probably aside from Batman and Red X) and what I really love the most about her is her psychology. Her powers are also relates to her psyche, I just really like that concept of just how she's Overpowered but also handled that Overpowered trait with a clever writing tactics. She's such a facsinating character, aside of her being a great waifu material, aside of how her powers are great because how her powers makes sense to the narrative and how beautifully crafted it is (aka OP Done Right Character) but how she's freaking relatable and how she gotten out from her shell by helping hand from Robin. She's definetly in my top 3 fav Teen Titans characters
