Woah! Superb! If Robin Guthrie hears this, he'll wanna make an lp with you. Just got one a week ago and I'm already getting some great sounds out of it. Tuning takes some time though.
thanks for your comments. I have bought and sold two Lyra-8s. I still have a love/hate relationship with it. I love the way it sounds (especially the delay and LFOs), but sometimes I hate how unpredictable the envelopes and modulation can be. Otherwise it is one of the most strange pieces of gear I own.
@@droneopt yeah. if im in the wrong kind of mood (impatient/bad day at work) i get frustrated with it. if im in a good mood and willing to spend some time working on a good sound, it's superb.
@Smudge Stick if you're in the UK, signalsounds stock it. otherwise, google Soma Lyra 8 to find a stockist. It's a mental little box. Very difficult to bring under control, but when you do, it's marvellous.
wow. deep. melancholic. introspective. forlorn. heartbroken. twilight. time travel. lost. hopeless dred. suicidal. erosive. immense. distant. ancient. i can feel your pain, it is my pain.
Thanks a lot for your comment. I have the Lyra-8 running into a Walrus Audio Fathom reverb, and then into a Boss DD-6 Digital Delay with R-L output to the mixer. The Fathom reverb also has a sustain switch which I use in a few parts.
Beautiful use of the Lyra...haunting...
This is excellent. My kind of sound.
Nice to hear a non harsh demo of this guy!
thank you! it's a challenge to get non-harsh sounds out of it :)
Well said
This is beautiful, the best ambient demo of this instrument I have heard so far. So glad I have mine on order.
Warming the soul

Beautiful! I just got a Lyra 8 and your videos are very inspiring.
Beautiful man!
I am amazed at the tame and pleasing sounds you cranked out of this beast. Thank you. I am going to buy another one and try again.
