Wonderful video. A great ride starts with a great warmup, and this is a very neglected area in teaching. I've learned more from this video than I have in years of riding lessons in preparing the horse for work. My horse thanks you as well. Hope to see more videos from Markus, or a book in the future!

Thank you for this video. I'll definitely start using this with the older dressage mare I ride. I noticed she's a bit flat at the beginning of my lessons, so thank you for letting me know that it's okay. My instructor always tells me to pick her up, but she has a bit trouble with that at the start. She's an ex-competition horse (though I compete her internally at the riding school she belongs to) and I know she'll appreciate the better warm up ;)

There should be no sitting trot in the warm up regardless of age.
