Very nice cab ride. Well filmed and edited. Thumbs up! :) For the ones who don't know this railway: There's a small branch down to the Rhine, as well and to the freight station. The Railway was not always ending there in the middle of nowhere in Engeln. There is an abandoned part as well. It was cut off when next to Engeln a big street was build across the tracks. I think that was in the 70's. Greetings Mega
Most enjoyable. The line is metre gauge and they got this loco from Spain. Its a powerful V12 engine, needed because they carry products fom the quarry up near the top and take them to the Rhein for onward movement. Its classed as a Private Railway rather than a Preserved Railway. regards Mark
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I agree it was a lovely line. We had a great vacation that time based at Koblenz. Would love to go back. regards Mark
A very interesting film, this film is made very beautiful ..! CLASS ..! Last year I have pictures taken in December 2012. greetings Henk from Holland
Hi. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. Also thanks for adding some more information regarding the lines history. I think a dampflok is running this weekend. Hopefully someone will video it and put it on RUclips. mit besten Grüßen. Mark
Hi Alan. First time ever Ive filmed from a cab so not sure if its roomy or cramped. I do know it was a great experience. I didnt know whether to put a bit of zoom on to miss out the window surround but thought that at wide angle it might not show camera shake so went with that. I was using Josephs monopodod which helped. regards Mark
Hi Henk. Sorry for late reply to your comment. I am glad you enjoyed the video. It was a fantastic railway and we will visit again one day. I hope your pictures from December were good. Greetings Mark
Thanks Phil. The lower part of the route is quite wooded with lots of road crossings but still interesting. I took about 36 minutes of footage and it was hard to get it down to the 17minutes that eventually got uploaded. I sent the video to the driver for approval first, before it got uploaded for public viewing. It just needed one slight modification. Regards Mark
They got this loco 1405 from FEVE narrow gauge system in Northern Spain well after closure of the freight line. They used the small diesels D1 and D2 in those days.
Toni dun Google-Übersetzung. Danke fürs Zuschauen und Sie kommentieren. Ja, es sieht wie ein jüngerer Bruder von einer 216-218. Herzliche Grüße von Mark

Well, aren't you lucky. That looks very much like a narrow guage class 218, 1200 hp, did it say on it?
Intensely interesting, Mark. Those cabs seem very roomy for narrow gauge.
Is this locomotive the same in thailand
Thanks for watching the video. I am sorry that I do not know the answer to your question.
Dis thing is kinda big for its guage.
De D5 ist wohl der kleine Bruder von den BR 216 bis 218 ner.

Ich wohne in ca 20 Km Entfernung zur Brohltalbahn.
Sieht aber komisch aus die Diesellok
