Haha it's funny that you mention the Harry Potter wand. I work in airport security at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and actually found two Harry Potter magic wands today. After giving them a test drive myself, I allowed them to pass.

The Harry Potter wand and Lightsaber are on the list because of visiting the theme parks....so yeah, I've actually taken a wand bought at Universal on a flight in my carry-on. HAHA!
Oh the things you come across working in airport security (definitely a highlight of working at one) - especially when you have to search the bag in question 🙈
I always fly with my double ender, upon it I place a glow in the dark condom, this can be used not only as a safety light in times of darkness, but also as a light saber. Two in one.

Please for the love of all that is holy, whenever you visit the Americans I expect a "How to get through TSA with a tortilla press, bread maker, light saber, Harry Potter wand and double ender" video.

Little tidbit of info I sat next to a woman once who had a tortilla press with her. She said I was a present for her daughter and didn't want it damaged in checked luggage. So I guess thats a reason to take it with you.

Why wouldn't anyone not take a bread machine or a tortilla press? If you get hungry, just mix the dry ingredients, ask the flight attendants for some water to make dough or the tortilla and bake. Hey presto, a meal 😉 Didn't you realise that airline food is often not edible? Sheesh 😜
