      I strongly suggest this fanbase makes a guild if they try the sponsor. Most guilds accepting members before I quit playing were ones trying to not die out or felt very inactive. The more active ones ignore you even if you meet requirements (despite you being the only person interested I might add Edit: and yes, I was responding when they were advertising), then the dying guilds start sending invites to you immediately.
      The amount you can do without friends or a guild gets pretty limited.
      Also before I left, the global chat had 0 moderation.... It was less than pleasant on Switch. Maybe it's better on other platforms, but I think it's infinitely better to be in a guild only chat.
      As for positives, it's definitely a nice vibe game to play solo. Do as you please essentially. I did enjoy dragon hunting and doing the dungeons that you can basically skip through super easy if you know the layout.

    I still love the idea that the moment Gannondorf transformed into Gannon is when the time line split. All three pieces were active, Gannon wishing to kill Link, Link wishing to save Hyrule from Gannon's reign, and Zelda wishing they hadn't let him come to power in the first place, so now the infinite power of the gods is trying to make three mutually exclusive things happen at once, and the timeline splits

    Ganon being a transformation brought on by Demise's curse could explain why Ganondorf is a thing even though we supposedly dealt with Ganon already.

    • @stephanos6128
      @stephanos6128 2 года назад +6

      Ganon's form is from using the Trfiroce of Power specifically, you see him use it/activate it before transforming in OOT. He is a powerful wizard but he becomes the Powerful King of Evil once he has a single triforce piece. If he was truly a reincarnation of evil itself, parallel to that of Zelda being the reincarnation of a literal goddess, he'd have way more power in OOT that he wouldn't have to use Diplomacy and a Coup as a war tactic.
      This is true as well in TP, when he breaks his chains and kills the sage he's seen activating the Triforce's power (hence why its such a shock or cruel joke rrom the Goddesses) and when he adfivates the triforce you see he begins to grow *tusks*, alluding to his big pig form. (Using Twilit magic could also explain the form is more animalstic in TP than bipedal in OOT). Ganon also just literally doesn't look like Demise's monstrous form, Demise looks a bit like Ganon as a means of visual connection for us the players, but thats as far as it gets imo.
      Demise's curse applies to all the main big bads the players encounter in Zelda. Vaati is like a huge example of being a incarnation of Demise *without* there being a Ganondorf present in the game.

    • @flamemasterelan
      @flamemasterelan 2 года назад +4

      @@stephanos6128 "Demise looks a bit like Ganon as a means of visual connection for us the players, but thats as far as it gets imo."
      Yes, that's visual shorthand informing the player that Demise's curse is directly connected to Ganondorf, as is his flaming red hair, which Hyrule Historia confirmed was to signify their connection. Skyward Sword was written to explain the triad of Link/Zelda/Ganon. Link is the reincarnation of the hero, Zelda is the bloodline of the Goddess, and Ganon is the incarnation of the Demon King's hatred. There is zero evidence of Vaati having any connection to the curse, with Vaati's only appearance in a Nintendo-developed game playing second fiddle to a resurrected Ganondorf.
      Also, you're under the mistaken assumption that Ganondorf should gain some power from being the incarnation of Demise's curse, but there's nowhere that that's implied. Demise didn't reincarnate, his soul was trapped in the Master Sword for eternity. Ganondorf only retains the Demon King's feelings of resentment and hatred for Link and Zelda, which is exactly why he goes out of his way to attack them during Ocarina of Time.

    • @stephanos6128
      @stephanos6128 2 года назад

      @@flamemasterelan The Vaati your thinking of is FS Adventure, which if u wanna bring up the timeline comes way later. however in FS and Minish Cap, which comes directly after SS where Demise makes his curse, Vaati is indeed his own villain, unrelated to Ganondorf. Yet he is still evil, and seeks power and wanrs to kill Link and Zelda, just as Demise said. Vaati is not a reincarnation of Demise, but an example of his curse coming to fruition. Ganondorf is the same idea, just a fairly consistent one, and theres a reason for that, it's been the same Ganon in every game.
      OP said Ganon, the pig monster, is a result of Demise's curse. Its not, it clearly shows he transforms using the power from the TRFIROCE. This is shown twice now with OOT and TP. His power comes from his own skill (he was raised by witches, again they are evil beings before Ganondorf, meaning evil has and always will exist outside of him.), later given a major boost via the triforce, he only transforms or is a pig when he specifically has a piece of the Triforce on him. Thats got nothing to do with Demise imo.
      what i mean is ive seen people saying Demise and Ganon are related on a like, level that Hylia and Zelda are related, which I think isn't true. Demise said his (as well as the demon clan) hatred will follow them forever which does explain Link Zelda and Ganon but it also explains main bosses in other games who are not Ganon ie Vaati, Majora and Cole/Malladus, or monsters who just exist outside of Ganon's influence (Bongo Bongo, dead hand, redeads.) I chose Vaati because he was an example I remember vividly where Ganondorf wasn't his main goal, or the final villain.
      People have this weird idea that Ganondorf has no control over his actions and is like some victim... brainwashed or forced into a curse taking away his agency and even political charisma. Everytime he reincarnates (which hasn't happened yet that we know of, he is only revived) Demise's curse would suddenly turn this kid evil, which i don't think that's how Demise's curse works. (cus it doesn't explain the passed Gerudo kings who never got a story yet, and are never mentioned in history as consistently evil. It also takes away the civil war that occurs before OOT which again Ganondorf wasn't involved in. Everything post time split is a result of the actions of a singular man, and the Royal Families own incompetence, but evil has been present and plagueing the royal family before Ganondorf even existed. THAT Is what Demise's curse is about imo)
      I guess I'm tryna say Demise is somewhat a personification of Evil and Evil will follow them to ends of the earth in every form imagineable and the most consistent just hapoens to be Ganondorf, which is only because it's been the same One Evil Ganondorf... TP Wind Waker, Downfall Timeline have all been the *same* one guy who wanted revenge in OOT. he outirght says this at the end of the Game and something similar in TP. Constant revivals can do a number on the mental state as we saw in WW. So while yes, it is Demise's curse coming to fruition, Ganondorf himself also stated he will seek revenge in OOT, and since he hasn't died yet it's been the same singluar man seeking revenge up until at least the 10k year time skip. That's however *his* decision, not Demiss making him do as people like to make it out to be.
      Another example would be the Yiga, they are Demise's curse coming to fruition, sure theyre not malice made beings but they *are* evil chasing and trying to kill off the Goddess and the Hero and that is *mainly* cus of the actions of the Royal Family, not cus Demise or Ganon told them to. They follow Ganondorf out of pure spite and hatred though they really don't seem to worship him outside of like solidarity.
      Demise's curse is just similar to the phrase "A Plague on both ye Houses." or "May you never know peace." with like extra wording. Like Romeo and Juliet's death is not the result of Marquitio's final words, but a eventual event due to the actions of others (theyre family). I feel Demise's curse is a similar idea. Not necesarilly an actual magical curse that can be broken, but a sort of threat and karma. As long as those two exist, evil will follow.
      If we kill Ganondorf, the curse does not lift, but nor does that mean Ganondorf could return bigger and badder. I'm saying someone *else* will just replace him. Demise didn't say he has a descendant who will haunt them, he said his and the demon clans hatred will haunt them, which is more metaphorical than literal. Sometimes that is Ganon (cus its the same one guy seeking revenge), sometimes it is not. Demise's curse refers to all evil all together, he looks like Ganon as a visual connection, but i think its just cus Ganon has been the cinsistent bad guy throughout the games. But Vaati, Majora and Malladus are also part of this curse as their own individual bad guys. but theyre not blood related, Ganondorf is not a reincarnation of Demise. He is not Demise turned human and has some inherent need to be evil cus his Demise blood says so. Thats not how the curse works.
      ah tldr. The curse explains the feud I just dont think it outright explains Ganondorf as an existance....? If that makes sense. Cus theres examples where Demise's curse doesnt involve him.

    • @stephanos6128
      @stephanos6128 2 года назад

      @@flamemasterelan sorry for the long reply, i wanna also mention we might have a miscommunication going on cus i personally dont see Demise and Ganondorf as being related via reincarnation. nor do i think he gets his power from Demise, thats soemthing I was trying to explain to OP is a wrong idea. My wording was a bit off looking at my comment, sorry.
      again you say he has demise resentment towards Link and Zelda, but thats *after* the game when hes defeatsd by them. Ganon having resentment toward Link and Zelda prior to his defeat takes away his agency I think, making it seem like he's inherently evil cus of Demise cursing him to be as such, and not cus of his own actions and greec. Hell he even *spares* Link when they first meet face to face, if Demise had influence over him, he'd kill Link on the spot cus he would know better not to underestimate this kid a second time. WW shows Ganondorfs agency and jealousy is his own, and his evil deeds is also his own decisions, uninfluenced by Demise. Wanting to exterminate Link and Zeldas descendants does parallels Demise's curse but again thats a revenge seeking mentality and a decision Ganon himself makes. It keeps following Link and Zelda cus its been the same Ganon over and over. I wager if Ganondorf were to properly reincarnate, like Link and Zelda do, he wouldn't do evil deeds outright (unless the plot calls for it), cus it wouldn't be the same man, and then someone else evil will instead take the form of Demise's curse. But idk if Nintendo wants to take such risk (depsite hainvg dine it before again Majora, Cole/Malladus, and Vaati.)

    • @flamemasterelan
      @flamemasterelan 2 года назад +5

      @@stephanos6128 No, Ganondorf doesn't hate Link and Zelda personally, as of Ocarina of Time. But he's still Demise's incarnation of hatred enacted through his curse. That's why he grows disdainful of the Kingdom of Hyrule in the first place and decides to conquer it, kill the king, temporarily abandon his conquest mid-mission, and try to kill two ten year olds. Ganondorf is still his own person, so he doesn't start out hating anything, but he was always destined to develop that hatred because that's the nature of fate.

Movements, attacks, going into thoughts and fights. This way it gains an idea of who link is but also because water is going into link too. The whole time Morpha is in the giant room where dark link is and decides to use the part of Morpha that’s in Link to attack him. This is why when Link first enters it looks like a lake with a tree in the middle, but also there’s links reflection. Upon passing over the island links reflection is gone as this is where Morpha hides, using all the knowledge and being inside link too, dark link is created to attack Link while Morpha leaves to go back to the main boss room. Then when dark link is defeated the room turns back to normal as the part of Morpha there is now defeated.
    When going to the boss room to face Morpha, link recognises the water there is different as he is now aware of water that has Morpha in it after the Dark link battle. This is my thoughts anyways

      There is a book in french (not by Nintendo) who dig deep into the meaning of Ocarina of Time, as being the whole process of a person from child to adult but also the journey of a hero like in old legends;
      In these legends, there is the hero, but the state of the kingdom is the state of the being itself (remember Hyrule, but also stuff like The Lion King), as the legend is about someone and his personal, mystical journey, not an actual place.
      Same for every characters, they are concepts, not people.
      The princess (Zelda) is the soul of the hero, the truth, goal of every sacred knight.
      The dragon or demon (Ganondorf) is the devil, who dont want the hero to succeed.
      Let me just warn you that in mystical enlightment (what legends are made to teach), sexuality and soul are tied.
      Monks dont interact with womens, knights make vows of chastity etc.
      So, mature stuff here;
      The journey;
      1 Deku tree
      the end of childhood (*kokiri are all childs, and Deku tree is a father)
      *Encounter with young Zelda at the castle (aka the young soul of the hero at the "center of the kingdom"), she now something dark is lurking but need the hero and his WILL to fight it.
      2 Gorons
      the world of MENS, big muscular guys, they want to enter a cavern, first encounter with sexuality and desire. Primal instincts, pushed forward by the prehistoric theme (gorons are cavemens, dodongos are dinosaurs).
      3 Zora
      entering a being and team-up with a girl, she give you "her most precious possession, but dont tell father". The Zora jewel is an union symbol.
      Journey-wise; first sex.
      Also the water is a symbol tied to the flow of energy coming from the soul (who is tied to sexual energy), so having first sex and first encounter with water-themed level at the same moment in the game is not a coincidence.
      But the Zora princess is not the right girl, she's not Zelda, she's not the sacred soul the hero should be loyal to.
      So the evil can take control of the hero/kingdom, aka Ganondorf "steal" the princess and ruin everything.
      Remember, Ganondorf is an embodiment of what the hero should fight inside itself, the ascension to power of a ruthless grown man without morals.
      Adulthood. The hero lost his path and now the kingdom is ruined.
      He encounter his soul (Zelda disguised as Sheik), she guide him, but he cant see her for what she is in his state .
      4 Forest Temple
      return to the origins of things to find his way. The remnants of childhood are gone (kokiri are gone) He "identity" his enemy (ghost Ganondorf), who he must fight to save the kingdom/itself.
      5 Fire Temple
      So Gorons are embodiment of sexual appetite and primal instinct, they were starving during the first act, now they find themselves fed to a beast, "prisonners" of the same concept. The Fire Temple is litteraly Hell.
      The hero must overcome his own instincts to have his mind in place to begin his mystical journey anew.
      6 Water Temple
      This one is interesting. Water is a symbol of the "soul flow"; and water doesn't flow.
      Zora domain is frozen, and Hylia Lake is mostly dry.
      The hero must make the energy flow again. "Overcome itself" (Dark Link), playing with the water (energy) level using the ROYAL song, and destroying the parasite who cause the water to be so low.
      7 Shadow Temple
      Overcoming (the fear of) Death
      8 Spirit Temple (perfect name)
      Overcoming the attachment to the material world and "what he may offer" using the very sexualized Gerudo womens to convey this idea. The tentation for what is essentially meaningless in comparison to a princess (the soul/truth).
      Remember the imagery of snakes all around, and the worst enemy in the game is actually the pretty girl Nabooru, the lair of the boss is hidden beneath the face of a beautiful and attractive idol, and the boss itself is a woman...
      Ganondorf lived here, this is his home. He's a child of the desire, he want everything basically.
      9 Time to get the Kingdom back.
      The hero is now worthy, his soul (Zelda/Sheik) reveal herself before his eyes.
      But he must fight a last battle within itself to reach it.
      After several trials, he finally force his enemy to reveal his true form, that of an hideous beast, a pig, and can kill him now that his sacred soul is at his side (Light arrows).
      And THAT explain why the final scene take place in the sky when he's face to face with Zelda. He reached his soul of light, It's heaven, nirvana, whatever you call it.
      It's not a surprise if Ocarina of Time was so successful, more than any game he is following the pattern of actual legends made to speak to the soul itself and encourage to take on a journey to gather force, courage and wisdom.

    16:48 I just thought of something: Would that plan even have worked if Ganondorf got all the pieces together? When he tried to get it initially, it split, what would make the second time any different? Wouldn’t those pieces just go to some other folks who embody those traits better? Or am I missing something?

    • @giantsbane2475
      @giantsbane2475 2 года назад +7

      Once the triforce spilts once, one of the wielders can locate the other two and get them, the power of the triforce pieces being transferred over. It’s only when Gannondord tried to get them then they were complete that it split.

    • @ShadowSora8491
      @ShadowSora8491 2 года назад +15

      In the Downfall Timeline, Ganondorf/Ganon had managed to acquire the full Triforce, due to the fact that he obtained the other two pieces that got away, before the Imprisoning War took place, and he was sealed within the Evil Realm/Dark World, but still with the full Triforce intact. This is why you obtain the full Triforce, when you beat the game, in A Link to the Past.
      In the Adult Timeline, when Ganondorf knocked out Link and Zelda, he was able to take the Triforce pieces they had, and assemble the full Triforce, but he counted his chickens before the eggs hatched and forgot to actually touch the Triforce, when he tried to make his wish fully realized, allowing King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule to touch the Triforce and make his own wish, instead, resulting in the old Hyrule being washed away.
      To answer your question, yes, Ganondorf can obtain the power of the full Triforce, as long as he acquires the two other pieces that got away from him. The legend that Sheik tells Link, before he reveals himself as Princess Zelda, even states that if your heart is imbalanced, and you only obtain one piece of the Triforce, you must seek out the other two pieces to fully realize your wish, with those other two pieces going to two other people chosen by destiny.

    I remember vortexxygaming having a similar theory about Dark Link, that being the personification of the person’s negative emotions and thoughts and having to conquer that entity to venture further into the temple. R.I.P. vortexxygaming…
    Also, about the goddesses leaving the triforce, I think part of the reason is because the world is dependent upon some form of power or presence of the goddesses to continue to exist. Case and point, Lorule began to crumble away and turn dark when Hilda’s ancestors wished for their triforce to destroy itself.

    It's upside down from being strapped to a torture device.
    Cutting off hands meant thief , like giving secrets hidden in a musical morse code.
    And marching drums were played during public beheadings , bongo just sounds better.
    Given that Ganon was the ruler at the time , and Impa was keeping Zelda from him.
    Bongo Bongo could have been summoned to execute Impa as a traitor.
    Hopefully , she made into the Shadow Temple's passage before such a thing happened.

    I love windwaker Ganondorf I know he isn’t in it a lot but you can see pain regret and try emotion in the little dialogue he has especially at the last fights with him as he mocks you and calls you a basically a reborn hero of time fetch boy of the gods and you can see his disgust for them as he talks and facial animations it’s awesome

    17:52 Its suggested in Two Worlds that a Tri-Force must exist within a world for that world to exist and that destroying to fully removing the Tri-Force from that world leads to that world crumbling into ruin.
    This could also function as an explanation as to why such a power was just, left in the world. It had to be or there wouldn't be a world to begin with.

    Love the speculation on Bongo Bongo's design and lore being based around the notion that it's the mass collection of criminals who were tortured and executed by the Sheikah. Another bit of speculation, though completely arbitrary, would be that it also explains why it plays the bongos, as it could've been an instrument used as a countdown or part of some ritual for the criminals before their execution. So now, it plays the bongos for Link in build-up to his execution by its hands.

    Dark Link may have been inspired by a scene in _The Empire Strikes Back_ where Luke Skywalker fights a hallucinatory representation of his "inner darkness" inside an evil tree. In Luke's case it takes the form of Darth Vader, but after Luke defeats his enemy, the helmet vanishes to reveal Luke's face. Whereas Link wins his battle, however, for Luke this turns out to be a failure, because it shows how close he is to falling to the dark side.
    It's difficult not to find parallels between Zelda and Star Wars, seeing as both stories feature a plucky young hero with a destiny, a sorcerer, a princess in need of rescue, and divine elements (even the name "Triforce" hints at "the Force".) Since the Zelda series was conceived shortly after the first Star Wars trilogy, Shigeru Miyamoto almost certainly took inspiration from it. So I wouldn't be surprised if the Dark Link battle was in part a homage to that scene.

    sad fact: in the manga adaptation of OoT, volvagia was actually link's pet that got corrupted by gannondorf during link's 7 year sleep and only remembered link when he delivered the final blow
