Don't know how much you wanna spend but you can make it much smoother with a different throttle body and tune Through Jamie Ellis at Twisted Development. Which would be super crucial for how rough the MX Nationals are. I'm pumped for you Matty!
2nd injector and ecu map... yes, it can make it smoother or provide more hit, basically put the power wherever you want, but the real benefit of a Vortex or GET ecu is the ability to rev the bike higher and pull the gear for longer... Instead of shifting 3rd on a stock bike because 2nd signed off, then going back down a gear for the next corner a short distance away or instead trying to slip the clutch to pull 3rd out of it instead of shifting back down, with a good ECU you could just hold 2nd and continue making power without needing to ever shift to 3rd so you're in the right gear for the next corner.... that's what seperated the factory 2 strokes from the good satellite teams back in the day, only back then it was CDI boxes and the public/small teams didn't have that tech that allowed the bike to rev like the factory bikes and pull longer... otherwise, the heads and porting could be done by any good 2 stroke engine builder and the fuel was available to everyone... Also, the factory transmissions made a big difference too, but the biggest was the factory ignition CDI box and their ability to test.
Noticed the yamaha still uses a cable clutch, look closely at Webbs factory bike - hydraulic. I threw a magura hydro on my 18 kx450 after the first season and it was one of the best mods I did on it. Feel and ease of use are awesome. @@mattburkeen820
It seems like your genuinely having fun!!!!!! I have been die hard 2-stroke all my life ( I still have my one owner 01 RM125 I got from dealer floor) been ripping 01 RM250 last couple years (frame off restore) I love it but I recently got to check one of those new Yamahas and have to tell you I fell in love it. It feels lighter than other four strokes I have ridden. And n some ways it seems safer having plenty of controllable power to take whatever line you want and I figure not beating the motor up (because there's more power than 99% of us need) it should last forever (with good maintenance). Anyway thanks for the content and like I said you genuinely seem to be having fun and at the end of the day that's what we should be doing out there 👍👍oh and has Super Fan ridden YZF250? like I said die hard 2-stroke but there is something to be said about the power delivery. not to mention modern 4-strokes Rev to the moon.

shredding my dude, your looking VERY good. From the comments on the suspension it sounds to me like you may want to try going to a .49 front spring. In conjunction with that change raise the oil height in the forks to 300cc instead of the stock 265cc. That helps keep you out of the mid stroke and up more in the plush top part of the stroke. I went back to running my fork clickers in the stock position once i put the lighter springs in up front. I run the stock shock spring. ill profile myself lol, 6'2 160-165lb depending on the burrito intake 37 yo expert. You looked good in that corner in slow mo, it looked like there was a bit of a hook in it and the bike stood up a bit on you on exit. Try setting the forks to 7-10mm of fork height and get the sag on the bike at about 100-102mm. it should help the bike stay down and carve out of the corner exit. Maybe loosen the rebound a few clicks it will help with forward bite shock is a little dead stock. That should help keep the front planted, feeling plush and keep the rear wheel tracking the ground. Bike setup is my tism. keep shredding dude, wish i was ten years younger still😂
