The really good designers dress more creative and do not have to use a label to prove their worth of their ta.

@@garykarel6809 But she is wearing label, her pants are the Gucci all over print. I'm not hating BTW, I love Nicola and her taste but I'm just saying she is wearing the most amount of labels I've seen in any of the designers out here. She does it in a very tasteful way that looks great on her, not flashy, but the wealth is noticeable and she is not hiding it at all. Those pants are over $1K. Good for her, I love it and I'm here for it.
When she said her kids were closed out of rooms and had rules that was it for me
It sounds like she’s putting her career aside to raise a family, so I commend her for making her home a place that makes HER happy. It’s beautiful!

The kids room has one bird! There is nothing that says a kid lives in the whole home! I've known people like this and trust me their children were not happy.

I am one of the few that like ranches and split levels better than the standard colonial. She has done a fabulous job with her home . Her designing and taste is stunning.

I appreciate that Nicola established her home for her family and not around entertaining and parties, which other designers featured on homeworthy seem to do. It made her relatable and also I think that’s the reason her home has such a lovely vibe. She created a home, not an entertainment venue.
I like that Mrs. Nicola Birthie is honest about saying she like sophisticated home and that she doesn’t allowed crayons on their room or around the house. That if they want to play, draw they are allowed to do it in their playroom. Many people might not agree with her however, before her children were born, she and her husband had a home. So , thereafter implementing rules in her ( their) household it’s a good thing to instilled in her children. She conserves her valuable pieces. I like her esthetics designs. I’m sure, she doesn’t washes dishes when she has company at home because she has the means to pay a home services. ( I’m based on her presentation). And why not if she could afford. It’s very nice when a husband is able to room. This lady has skills and it’s nice that she’s sharing with us . Good for you and best to you.!

@carissafisher7514 Nope! Not gonna buy into negatively! No antidepressants in my life, because there is no need. One can state the obvious, however. As for my personal happiness, I'm doing fine! Hope you are not lonely or sad either, but you may want to carefully consider whether antidepressants might be appropriate for you.

Nicola adds a whole new universe to “pretty!” Her home is so filled with charming “jewelry” my eye just needs far more time to take it all in! Yet, it’s not at all cluttered, an underlying elegance throughout. Her colors and artistic choices are so fresh, giving a lovely, youthful spirit to the traditional…just absolutely love this! And, not surprised by her English background. Nicola is a true English rose…could even be a twin to The Princess of Wales. Actually, that’s the word I’m struggling for. Her home feels like it’s been designed by a fun loving, family oriented, modern day princess!

so beautiful and feminine...it gives a Bridgertonesque, british victorian feel, while still remaining very modern.
But in English Design Men had their Spots for Example Ralph Lauren's who Does Such a Balanced Manor with Both Feminine & Masculine are always visually honored in the areas built in 😮 So Sad that No One 😢 can see , the masculinity here. Even in "Her closet discussion" it showed a problem in honoring her mate's needs for me...., it's "Me , Me" was in Every sentence or My >>> although exquisite it's still Lacks Balance for a Real Edwardian or New English Home carries Balance ..😢 as if Husband and son doesn't Exist in this Residence😢😢😢😢

Another favorite. I'd have trouble leaving this home, but can't wait to see what she does in the new home. Funny, how even the high end designers' homes seem to have trends like the DeGournay panels, the sheep, the chinoiserie plates, etc. I love it all. I'm always looking at their coffee table books. So, even if I can't afford some of the bigger items, I can usually afford the books.

Loved hearing about Nicola's English heritage....and her homage to the English design aesthetic. I prefer warmer tones, just my personal taste; however I really do appreciate the diversity of design styles presented here and in other Homeworthy presentations. I like her aesthetic, it’s beautiful, but I feel like the house is all about her. It’s the first time I’ve gotten that vibe from any of the designers featured.
I wonder if her husband is comfortable there. It's all about her. I had a hard time listening to her speak, "affected".

Love the kids bathroom wallpaper. She has impeccable style all around.
The designer seems to be taking a lot of flack for restricting her kids access to some of the more formal rooms. I dont see what the big deal is, it's her home, her money and she designed it the way she wanted. I'm sure her children have a separate play area. Again I dont see the big deal. To each their own
It's also their kids house. 😉
@@itsLwow The kids live there but the parents own it and buy the furniture. The kids have their own playroom and bedrooms. The parents have their area.

When the parents get divorced the kids will want to go to a house that allows personal expression. Those are the kids that go to college as far away as possible.

I absolutely love her vision on her style and her daughters are definitely lucky to have her as a mom! You can clearly see how much she loves her family by the little details that she slips about them!
This home is so beautiful. She loves delicate items, in fact she looks quite elegant and delicate herself! Very beautiful! I love the english style as well...i felt like i was getting a tour through a modern English Georgian home :) I love how we get to hear the stories about everything behind the interior of someone's home.

It's essential to strike a balance between aesthetics and comfort to create a more hospitable living environment. In my opinion, this rigid interior design can leave a space feeling unwelcoming and cold, lacking the warmth that makes a place truly inviting.
I felt the children/husband have very little space to be themselves. It’s all “her” only.
She needs to learn about child development! Toddlers pull books from tables and throw everything, cause at that age they are learning about cause and effect!

It's pretty. It's also what I call traditional American Southern style. Not at all English, too rigid somehow. But, it's pretty, as in every colour matches.

Restrictions for kids is just fine! Not everyone lets their kids run like wild animals. I’m sure they have adequate spaces just for them. Teaching them respect of their parents home and finer things is just good manners. How sad this isn’t more common.

Beautiful home, very elegant and I love how she admits that certain areas are off limits to the kids. I’d do the same…BUT ……silk / plastic flowers? Seriously ? Not even Trader Joes fresh flowers? NO NO
Goodness it’s amazing how she’s able to keep it so clean and tidy with 3 kids.
It's called hired help. While I enjoy watching these home tours, this is not reality for most people.

The sheep thing is a no for me. Ive seen it in a few other homes and it always seems so out of place but each to his/her own...
This camera work was not good compared to most homeopathy videos. Many spaces you saw just one view or a corner area as she was describing areas that we never ended up seeing. Most videos are much better than this

Boys are so different from girls….my son threw cars, balls and pillows when he was little and would scream No while he was doing it….now my son is 42 and is the most beautiful precious guy in the world. He told me yesterday that I was a TREASURE…….boys are the best …be patient and put up all the breakables. Your home is beautiful…Thankyou for sharing with us.
