  • The debacle of the golden calf is a cautionary tale about the dangers of trying to shape G-d in our image, of making G-d more compliant with our own limitations and self serving goals. G-d presides over His people on His terms, and not the other way around.
    Ki Tisa (Exodus 30:11 - 34:35)
Parashat Ki Tisa is read on Shabbat:

The lesson of the Golden Calf for every generation: “Not fashioning G-d according to our needs, but striving to bring ourselves closer to G-d on His terms”
Thank you for this video. It’s a really a lot to think about!

" (Awake every day) and bringing ourselves closer to Him -blessed be He - by changing, growing, advancing in our spiritual knowledge and constantly realizing that the goal of all knowledge is to know that we don't know. WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HASHEM."
    So simple, so deep.
I had entered in spiritual darkness when I did forgive me this beautiful teaching.
Thank you. Your words full of love to HaShem, full my heart with Emunah. G'd bless you and all the masters of Israel: The light for the nations.

I was glad to see you back, teaching this parshah, at the Temple
Institute. I also watch the same parshah on Jerusalem Lights which emphasizes taking personal responsibility for our individual relationship to G-d. This is vastly different than traditional Christian teaching. It is fantastic to watch both the Temple Institute and Jerusalem Lights.

The golden calf as you said was the birth of Kabbalah or the attitude of control of celestial beings and even YHVH. Man does have direct access to YHVH and its through the Word of YHVH
