kind of my only gripe with the newest episode but there are 2 more episodes so there is still a lot of crazy stuff that can happen
@justinarney3050 Only thing that can rectify the massive changes is Charmander and Bulbasaur coming back, and from a narrative perspective, it's easy to say that's a cheap move.

@Daioblis I don't think it would be a cheap move. Hell, even having the time skip and showing Squirtle as the sole surviving stater, and turning to defy the gods themselves, shows progression of the show itself, which is amazing. At this point, anything is possible, and it feels rewarding.
Character development is overrated. It's nothing unless the world evolves with you. Narrative development is paramount, and this show has so much of it.

@turaychu The biggest theory right now is that squirtle (now wartortle) will get the gods to time travel him so he can correct his mistakes and save charmander. Since there is two more episodes it’s very likely.

Honestly the most impressive part is the dedication to the series and the story over literally years. A lot can change in that amount of time, many a series that took this long to animate have been abandoned way before this point or went off the rails from the original intention. I find it amazing that amongst all his real life priorities that keep him from spending 24/7 on this, that he still makes time for it and puts it out into the world for us to enjoy. There might even have been a time where he quietly could have just never finished it and a few hundred people would be sad and it would be all forgotten like so many other fan projects. Instead not only is it still going its still very good, and only getting better. That makes the wait all worthwhile.

Based on how long it took the last one to come out I wouldn't be surprised if the next one comes out by the end of this year, like November or December. Possibly even January next year. I also just started watching this series and I already can't wait for the next one.
For example episode 1 was made 7 years ago episode 2 was made 6 years ago and episode 5 was made 5 years ago
