Any chance you have a link for that System Diag pdf? Got an 8300 with a lot of issues, will not show RPMs except at random times (and its an erroneous number like 10), and will not go from park into gear unless it is showing RPMs.
Sounds like your injection pump. I believe it reads speed off the cam of the pump internally and if your bearings are going out the metal filings collect on the sensor. Precision diesel clinic in red oak iowa could answer for sure if it is. I have the pdf diagnostics for a Mac computer. I don’t know how well it will work on windows.
