    Dell workstation T7910 spacing between the two heatsinks, CPU 1 is hotter than before.
    My question is: will installing a heatsink from Noctua prevent this problem and keep my CPU 2 cool without affecting CPU 1? And how much space does it occupy? The one I bought from China 14 centimetres large

    When you say "The fan will always be running" you mean that there is no PWM? I mean, if the Noctua fan is 4-pin, I would expect the PWM to work. If the 5th pin is required by the motherboard to do PWM, wouldn't that keep warning on every boot that the fan has failure? What are the noise levels of this? I'm looking to replace the stock cooler (already tried the Dell AIO) just so I can reduce the noise levels. Thanks!

    This machine has been very stressful. Got it secondhand, CPUs were running a very hot idle. Did the 4 split washers and the screws just won't catch at all. I'm about to try 3 but it just may not be enough.

    Will it be varying?

    • @GreenPCGamerscom
      @GreenPCGamerscom  2 года назад +1

      We don't have a cam software that tells us the RPM level or whether the fans are running at a certain speed. However, they are always running and always quiet.

      @@GreenPCGamerscom thanks, I think you are an enciclopedia for these workstations, testing and adapting stuff.
      Have you tried the "Hardware Info" software?
      It sees my fans and their speeds.
      It can also control them but only in 3 steps: 0, 1000rpm and max speed.

    Computer at full power, lots of noise from existing front fans. CPU hovers around 80 85 degrees. Now, when we apply this system, how much is the sound cut off?

    • @GreenPCGamerscom
      @GreenPCGamerscom  2 года назад

      The noctua heatsink brings the temps down quite a bit on the cpu. That in effect normally brings the front fan noise down. This is assuming you don’t have anything else installed in your system that bring up the temps.

    • @lalljp
      @lalljp 2 года назад +2

      I have a T3610 which I think is the same. You mean right behind the CPU right? I used a Noctua 80mm fan and attached it with the included rubber attachments. But you can't power it off the motherboard headers unless you get a Dell 5 pin fan. I used a simple adapter cable that takes power from a SATA power plug and converts to 4 pin standard fan power. I don't have any speed control but it's fine because the fan is a low speed Noctua. If you do this you may also need a SATA power splitter, depending on how many plugs you have availble

    • @niazijr
      @niazijr 2 года назад +1

      @@lalljp Thankyou man :) but i am quite noob in these things so i didn't understand much about cables or the SATA power plug. I should take it to the PC shop :)

    • @lalljp
      @lalljp 2 года назад +1

      @@niazijr the power plugs are easy to figure out. SATA hard drives have a data port and a power port, and so you take one of those power plugs for the hard drive and use a fan converter. If you look on Amazon there are ones made by Noctua that are simple to set up. Be careful if you go to a computer shop, they may not know that Dell uses a special 5 pin fan plug that can get damaged if you plug in a standard fan, so make sure you tell them

      The heatsink in this video would work. However, you might have to use different mounting brackets. There are multiple mounting brackets included with the heatsink if you buy it new.

      Yes, the heatsinks will work on a T7910 as well. However, the aftermarket heatsinks will stop you from being able to shut the stock side panel.

      I want to keep my T7910’s heatsink for CPU1 and add this Noctua to CPU2 which is without heatsink and keeps getting the heat from CPU1.
      I bought a big heatsink from AliExpress and it worked too well. CPU2 is cooler than CPU1 and because of the lack of spacing between the two heatsinks, CPU 1 is hotter than before.
      My question is: will installing a heatsink from Noctua prevent this problem and keep my CPU 2 cool without affecting CPU 1? And how much space does it occupy? The one I bought from China 14 centimetres large
