Luca is strong, fluid, and expressive, and mesmerizing to watch, superhuman almost. His jumps are high, with such fast rotation and good form. Because of the equipment and surface, roller skaters don't have the edge (lean), speed or freedom of ice skaters, but Luca comes close. And if sheer talent determined who could reach the top of a sport, it seems like if fate had given him the chance to be an ice skater instead of roller, he would have reached the top of that world also. It is sad only because with a larger audience, more people would have a chance to see him. View counts of his videos would be in the millions. He and his partner are also amazing pair skaters.
I can only confirm what you are writing above. Rollerskating is a under rated sport. You can only admire this kind of video if you have ever tried to artistic rollerskating yourself. :-)
He definitely is the best roller skater I’ve seen. He might have been a great ice skater and might have reached that level of ability. We shall never know. Rollers are so much slower and limited in edges that a person of his ability will quickly reach those limits and then be, well, limited. In any case, good job.

Many people around the world do artistic roller skating simply because ice rinks may not be available where they live, or are too just expensive. As a fan of roller skating, and living in a country where ice rinks are extremely expensive (and, thus, uncommon) I am glad that athletes like him, Letizia Ghiroldi, Rebecca Tarlazzi, Bruna Wurts, Carla Solé, among others, and countries like Italy, Spain, Argentina, Portugal still put some investiment in this sport. For many - if not most - people around the world, this is the only way to experience art and technique on skates.
Ppl acting like this man can't afford ice skates. I'm sure if he wanted to ice skate he would. I've no doubt he made the choice to roller skate so stop treating it like it's a poor mans sport with this 'what a pity he's not an ice skater' rhetoric. It's demeaning and insulting. Ice rinks may be expensive but top notch roller skate set ups at his level are expensive af, so if he can access that kind of equipment I'm sure ice skating wouldn't be such a far fetched thing to do. Ppl always act like this sport is an I-Can't-Do-X-so-I'll-Do-Y thing. To look at a skater like this and the first thought be oh it's a pity hes not ice-skating instead of appreciating how good he is at his sport and treating the sport independently is the biggest problem here.
A phenomenal skater. The speed of those spins....and those jumps. He makes it look so easy but it is astoundingly difficult. Hope we see more if this guy's skating👏👏
WOW! Stunning! I've been away from the sport for 15+ years, but he reminds me of Luca D'Alisera from Italy!! I wouldn't be surprised if he's somehow influential in his training. Fantastic !
