I'm not sure what's more impressive the fact that he could make such a perfect top that it could spin on the edge of a katana or the man who could spin a top on his katana so perfectly.
I wish American culture valued master craftsmen more as a society. Anything you can think of in Japanese society there is a master craftsman for and apprentices to carry into the next generation (from everything to making the smallest fishing rods and hooks the size of a grain of rice, to building without nails, silk spinning, gift wrapping, you name it.there's someone in Japan who'd dedicated most of there life to that one craft)
I mean they have a richer history to draw those techniques from whereas the USA is much more recent. There really is no ‘ancient us craftsmanship’ at least on this level
Lazy House Cat America is a corporate society. The elitists and the rich run the show.. this is why I think western culture is a complete cancer to the world
Am I the only one that gets this Japanese version of Mr Rogers feel or no? Idk why but it reminds me of the part where he went to explain other jobs and how they where made kinda thing
Even as a young teenager I could only bear 5 seconds of that crap... Not saying I didn't watch crap, but I still distinguish "honest" crap from utter and total crap. Like what you said or "Yu-Gi-Oh", for example (both utter, total crap, of course). I would be very embarassed to reference that myself or even "like" it just because I've heard the name before. Pathetic people.
This video has some Magical Power....I didn't understand a thing but I listened to everything that was said with all my senses....I don't think I was so focused on anything before.... I didn't get distracted at all when that gentleman talk was talking...I didn't understand anything but I listened to him so Carefully ...I don't know how🤷🏻♂️.... This video was Beautiful ❤️ Thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏
I think you will like this video i found, its of a Chinese painter recreating an ancient painting technique 'Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700 - 1900: How a Silk Painting was Made'
When I lived in Japan I always tried to find artist/craft people who would demonstrate and explain their craft to the public. Just wish my Japanese was a lot better, as I no longer have my Japanese friend along with me to translate. As someone stated, I would enjoy English subtitles or voice over to get more of his knowledge he was passing on.
I subscribed to the original channel that had all of these videos, but it’s gone now :( I wish I could download the episodes. Do you know where I could do that?
Shocking lack of PPE! where is the safety glasses, kevlar gloves and hard hat?! How has this man survived so long with such shoddy disregard for safety... :)
ok so it goes kind off like this: yeah thats cool, To: wow, impressive, damm, awesome, epic, no way, whaaat, jaw dropping & no f#cking way...and so on. =) A true Master.
I'm not sure what's more impressive the fact that he could make such a perfect top that it could spin on the edge of a katana or the man who could spin a top on his katana so perfectly.
Damn I was like «aw that's cute» and there comes the man spinning it on his katana
LOLOL!!!

plenty of woodturners in the us can make a top at least this precisely lets not get carried away here guys
Japan is truly blessed to be homogeneous. They have no struggle with cancers like feminism and forced diversity.
I remember when this video had english subtitles... but is so beautiful. I hope his traditional craft can be passed to other generations.
“Sandopaipa” GUYS I THINK I KNOW JAPANESE
I want this guy to be my grandpa
That's cool but it would be better to be his grandpa
i want this grandpa to be my guy
Why is Japan so fucking amazing?!?
Besides WWII and hentai
This is precious
Are we gonna just ignore the fact that this boy just balanced a large wooden top on the tip of a fucking samurai sword
That balancing work is difficult. Good job Grandpa.
Am I the only one that gets this Japanese version of Mr Rogers feel or no? Idk why but it reminds me of the part where he went to explain other jobs and how they where made kinda thing
Too relaxing!
The noises, that old man, the voices.
Book that katana-top samurai guy on America's Got Talent. He will win for sure!

Awesome! Now this man needs to meet with Tim from Grand Illusion!

"Chiisai dakara odaijini." Wise words. Please post more videos like this. I hope that this kind of art-form never dies or gets taken over by machines.

こまの製作過程もすごいけど独楽もすごかった
Nothing says ASMR like power sanding a bar of metal
Wow id love to own one of those tops. Its a classic and keeper. Love the precision and the craftsmanship of it. 💙👍
autogenerated japanese subs to english is amazing.. LOL
4:11 "Japan Naa useless"
11:42 "In Japan now one of the seven people sparked a golf boom"
The automatically translated subtitles are totally fine.
imo the entire Japanese language in conversation is unintentional asmr. Something about it lulls me, no idea why.

I had a similar emotional response, I don’t know what it was, but I actually teared up.
I think you will like this video i found, its of a Chinese painter recreating an ancient painting technique 'Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700 - 1900: How a Silk Painting was Made'
Thank you for the recommendation. Silk painting video is truly amazing!

Background Voice of this Japanese language girl is beautiful 🙄💘
I subscribed to the original channel that had all of these videos, but it’s gone now :(
I wish I could download the episodes. Do you know where I could do that?
What's the point without subtitles...? 🙄 Also, the original video is unavailable for some reason.
I wish there was a way to tell that guy that 125000 people now know what he does and think its amazing.
This came out on my Birthday
This dude could probably balance my wheels without machinery!
Hye, why the original video doesn't work ?!

There is no English translation. It doesn't show up. Only Japanese auto-generated.
It's Lopan from Big Trouble in Little China
Does he also make fidget spinners? Asking for a friend
the auto-translate subtitles are a bit confusing...
photographer85 cuz Japanese auto sub is a mess
I can't find auto translate
Was that Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany’s with the katana?
What anime is this
I think this show is on Netflix.
So he's the one that made the beyblades
Ooop didn't see you there.
Question ? How do you make money on building 1 top for 8 hours and selling it for maybe 2 dollars ?
By selling it for more than two dollars.
I miss the Mr. Rogers video
