- when glasgow celtic beat Inter milan 2-1 in the European cup final on the 25th May 1967 that was the best day of our lives. they were the fist British club ever to win the euopean cup .

@ballyhoo1873 As soon as Jock found out, he took action. Torbett was out of a job immediately, not even an investigation. Clearly you ignored the part of my comment when I mentioned how it was THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES who prevented him going to the police, which he intended to do. No other kids were abused, the ones that were eventually came forward, and in 1998 Torbett was jailed, so he never walked scot free.

Souness and smith knew what was going on at rangers and give the culprits references to go and do the same thing at other clubs and wish them well ! After newco was formed in 2012 , one of the victims solicitors got in touch to seek compensation , was told to get in touch with the administrators as it was the old club …only rangers when you lot want them to be …it will all come out ….

@haroldbhoy67 i was only a young boy in the 70s luckily i played for the Rangers boys club not septics so wasnt abused ;p so dont remember nazi salutes..mclean didnt want the hassle he would have got from septic scum fans.is the reason he didnt take the job

@ballyhoo1873 Oh FFS not this smear campaign again... Torbett was sacked as soon as Stein found out about the abuse. Stein didn't go to the police on the instruction of those involved. The idea that Jock knew and did nothing just proves how jealous you huns our of our history, of the fact that we had one of the greatest Scottish managers in history (far better than Smith & Struth), the man who saved so many rangers fans during the Ibrox disaster.
@scotzbhoy so Torbett had from 1967 to 1998 to abuse other kids as he was off the radar ....thats the point i was getting at in my last comment to you.......even if it was the familys who asked it to be swept under the carpet.
it was and still is wrong to let a predator go, to be free to abuse others for the sake of a football clubs reputation.
still i cant expect anything else from someone who`s religion has been sweeping child abuse under the carpet since its inception
