Welcome to the Pirates of Speelunker Cave!
This ride features state-of-the-art cinematic projection with immersive sets. Additionally, it has an elaborately-themed entry portal and queue design to set an adventurous tone as soon as guests approach the ride, including a custom soundtrack, nautical artifacts and “wanted” posters of pirates riders will encounter inside the attraction;
There are a total of 64 Speelunker characters throughout the ride - a historical nod to The Cave’s original opening in 1964. Furthermore, there are 26 six-passenger boats that will take riders on a six-minute ride; and
This ride has no height requirement (with an accompanying adult), allowing entire families to experience the ride together.

Bro i was about to comment that too. Im actually making a custom six flags called six flags fort worth and ill be adding a yosamite sams type dark ride. Sad thing is i only road yosamite sams gold river adventure once and i still have alot of memories of it even the canon lol.

I went to six flags over Texas today and I went on this ride three times this is the best ride I have ever been on I like the animatronics

This was filmed before it returned after the flood. Now there are tiki torches in the Speester Island scene and crystal in the spee's working scene.

I love this ride but Six Flags please turn on all it's effects for normal operation like the bubbles, smoke and haze at the lift hill, and the disappearing water fall that the boats go under. I have yet to be on the ride when all these features are going!

Looks like a jumbled up mess. May have been a good idea but I say chunk the pirates and go retro Spelunker Cave. At least the origanal had more movment, band playing, huge rock tossed over our heads, not to mention mist with thunder storm. Mabey I am just old.

Actually, it was a the Speelunker’s Cave at first which opened in the park in 1964 and closed down in 1991. They made it into Yosemite Sam and the Gold River Adventure and that ran from 1992-2018 and changed it back into the original Speelunker theme. As for Pirates of the Caribbean, that first came about in a Disney park in 1967.
