- This is a Motocross highlights video of Ryan Villopoto's Year Of Domination. Villopoto had a great career coming into the 2013 Supercross season as he was already a 7 time Supercross/Motocross champ. The year before in 2012 Ryan would win the Supercross championship early just before he blew out his knee ending his year. Coming into 2013 know one knew how Villo would do coming back from a big injury, especially in Pro Motocross which he hasn't raced in 2 years. Ryan would have the best year of his professional career both Supercross and Pro Motocross Championships, winning 18 races, Including 18 out 0f 24 motos in the Pro Motocross Championship. There were some epic battles throughout the year with Ryan Dungey, Justin Barcia, James Stewart, Davi Millsaps, and many more. Enjoy! #ryanvillopoto #supercross #motocross

Anyone who says RV isn’t 2nd to RC, must not have watched the dominant decade of Villo on a 250 and 450. Had such a sick style on the bike. My favorite rider by far
Tomac
He was good wasn't cocky just showed up and raced and he controlled a 450 so good and rode a 250 off the balls of it
i agree, hes the junior goat haha!
Don't forget about RV showing up to nations on a PC Kx250f and smoking the whole field. RV is definitely #2 to Ricky. It's not even close.
Definitely my top 3 favorite riders
Love this. 2011 was also a great year for him. Supercross champion, motocross champion, MXdN champion, and Monster Energy Cup Million Dollar champ.
Yeah I’d say 2011 was his best year by far!
@@2fourty8 2011 was his best year in terms of accolades for sure, but the SX and MX championships came down to the wire and he really had to fight for them. In 2013 everything looked to be on easy mode aside from Anaheim 1, and he just seemed to be able to destroy everybody when he felt like it.
@@thomaslopez7437 I didn’t say most dominant year. Which was obviously 2013. No monster million or MXoN in 2013 tho so 2011 gotta be #1
2011 was definitely his best year. Coming back after such a huge crash at St Louis the year before in Sx, to win literally everything he could of
Damn if only he raced longer, dude was an absolute maniac. I’m glad I got to watch him in his prime.
100%
He would have been dethrown by Eli Tomac, he's even said him self. If you watch both close enough, they have very similar riding styles with there own twist.. Love both
@@Nathan-fp4uy Both absolutely bulldogged their way across the track.
@Nathan-fp4uy Eli couldn't even dethrone Dunge. How in the hell would he dethrone Villopoto?
@@Nathan-fp4uy Yeah maybe if RV raced till he was 40. He's being humble. He absolutely smoked Tomac. Dungey reigned before and after RV. RV came in and dominated, went overseas and retired early. Dungey became the champ again after RV's retirement and was still waxing Tomac as an older rider. No way Tomac would beat prime RV.
The man that was cornering his bike with the rear wheel 🤙 Hall of fame ✅
His little brother Tyler rode the same way, he was also fast but more into casual riding, but remember watching him at the tracks and he would take the entire turn riding a wheelie while also tilted to the side. They both had really cool style
The viper. The best supercross rider of all time, as far as I’m concerned.
I think Bubba
Stew by a lot.
I'm guessing none of you watched mcgrath then. You know, the guy with 72 wins.
that corner Stewart pulled @ 3:09 WOW!
For me, the best of the best, Ryan Villopoto any one like him...
Unbelieveable how he just slides in and absolutely rips out of that rut at 4:40
I was just starting to watch this sport around 2012. Crazy how time flies! and the Tomac/Webb/Roczen era is coming to a closing soon and the Lawrence/Sexton/Deegan etc era is here now.
Lol, deegan?
The Viper 🔥 RV was so dominant
Miss watchin RV race dude was a stud!👊🏽
RC may be the default GOAT but RV and JS really imo share the #1 spot in my heart.
Greatest to ever do it!
Villopoto.. best style ever!!
He was just so good. The way he gets the power down is unreal
Dude was a beast. Guys just don't ride like this anymore. Tomac does once in awhile but doesn't really need to. So much competition back then and guys pushing each other to the limits it was nuts
he dominated so many other riders, and not just any riders, THE BEST of those eras, reed, stewart, barcia, roczen, milsaps, canard, dungey etc. Cross multiple generations. He didnt just win with speed he won with heart and race craft AND speed. My favourite aspect of his riding is the way he would stand a bike up on the exit of corners and just get full gas and full weight over the rear wheel and just launch out of turns.
Been watching SX, MX since Jeff Ward and Mark Barnett, Villopoto is my favorite rider, bar none. People talk about his brass balls fearlessness and style, and that’s totally legit. But, he was one of the most cerebral riders ever, his throttle hand based on conditions and situation.
He could be all torque-face whiskey throttle, steering w the rear wheel or total finesse and control. He outsmarted dudes most the time and was master of the psychological warfare game. Making the other guy believe he doesn’t have a chance, it’s all over but the champagne spray. Cham-PAGG-NEE where I’m from. Church isn’t over until all the rattlesnakes are back in their boxes. Thank You RV2, you were a joy to watch. And yes, he would’ve been the GOAT had he kept going. Question, if McGrath has all the titles why is Ricky called GOAT? Helluva rider for sure, a soul and spirit that cannot be taught. Yeah, he prolly is the GOAT, Nevermind, I’m talkin out my tailpipe. Health and happiness to all, and stay frosty and aerodynamic af. Hold on, SWAT is rappelling down the side of my house, brb
You made RV look quite handsome in the thumbnail lol
RV had the speed to keep Stewart honest. He has the consistency to beat Dungey in supercross. He won all those titles with studs, Bubba, Dungey, KRock, Tomac, Canard, Baggett, Davi, Reed. But his true Goatness for me was the outside rail speed during nationals. He retired early but in my heart I know this guy is the Goat.
Best rider ever.
Fun vid from a great past! Thanks for share.
That pass he did on canard at Thunder valley was by far one of the sickest passes in history
And the pass on Dungey at Steel City
He beat all the best riders : STEWART, REED, DUNGEY, BARCIA, ROCZEN, TOMAC... and some in Europe. My favorite rider with STEWART.
That red plate on the kx went hard
Villopoto was the master of cornering
The villapoto Dungey era was the best
Drop full races of 2013 450cc
Definitely dominant. The only thing different from current generation to any other generation, there is like 5-10 guys that can win on any given day so it's a lot harder to come by with a win or championship these days, back then there was maybe 3 but some generations it was only 1 guy. So this year by tomac was very impressive. Don't get me wrong, rv, rc, mc, and Stewart, Stanton, and some of those older guys are definitely amongst the elite
Yep, that’s true. Undoubtedly. I think SX more boring than ever, but overall depth is top notch. When I show OG races to youngbloods they are blown away, much more risk/reward, corporate risk management style now. Inevitable outcome of $$$$. Look at how boring F1 and MotoGP has become. Big $ sucks the soul outta everything it infiltrates.
the best ever
At 17:31 that’s my aunts house in the background get in the races free every year 😁
After 08 Stewart rode at 75% you can clearly see the drop off after the Kawasaki era
RV doesn’t get enough respect. if he’s not the goat he’s a close second. He was the most dominant ever and it was against a stacked group of riders! If he didn’t crash in 2010 he would be 5x champ in a row! He retired in his prime too, he definitely would’ve passed Ricky and came close to McGrath. Dungey couldn’t hold RV’s jockstrap and he’s the rider who won after rv retired
You always hear about JS7 but uh.... do people forget RV dominated him? People need to put some respect on his name!
poor js7 had to deal with a bunch of dudes with a R..RC RV RD CR lol
Yep lol!
2013 was a great year for RV definitely, but isn't 2011 the year of domination? SX, MX, MEC and MXON? Seems way better than 2013 to me 🤷
RV2 is the best vs the world braaappp
What year is this?
2013
1944, just before end of dubya dubya 2
11:29
pre sand redbud was just better
It’s crazy to me how different the tidings style is now vs then. I see a lot of RC style of staying seated to the new school like Jett always up on his pegs. Crazy how recent this is too.
Racing old chad reed old james stewart. But everyone saying hes the goat. He could'nt beat james stewart or rc on there prime and probably not chad reed in his prime.
Everyone saying RV is #2 is wild. He’s #1 by a long shot. Prime RV is raping prime Stewart prime reed prime RC prime dungey prime ET3. I mean he got to race most of the guys listed😂
Anybody that has a ginger-head kid and goes 🤔 should reevaluate after RC and RV hahaha...
My all time fav rider! So sick when he was on fire!
Crazy to look back and watch the style he had compared to what Sexton and Tomac have today
100%
Dude... look how well those super cross tracks hold up... it seems like every race this season the tracks blow out after a hand full of laps. the racing was so good back in these times.
lets see a tomac one for this year
Tomac is great but he sure aint no RV
@@carlongo he is
@@fk4410 haha no way....
Rv definitely had some of the best turn down corner speed
100%
And a lot of outside line choice, Tomac learned from RV2
The biggest mystery to me is why he started and ended 2015 so badly! It was sickening to watch him ride!
100%
He didn't want to race at all, so he went to Europe and in his words "treated it like vacation". He wasn't really training, there was a language barrier and they gave him euro specs which he hated, he wanted the bike stiffer and chassis more rigid like in the US. Kawasaki there didn't give him what he was requesting prior to leaving for Europe, nor could he communicate with his mechanic.. So big changes during the week was extremely difficult and limited, but changes in between practice and motos were near impossible.
He just wasn't as fit, hated the bike, wasn't riding during the week the way he was accustomed, language barrier, food problems in another country, and the GP style with how the tracks break down are a lot different, plus frim Saturdays qualifying moto to sundays motos, they dont touch the track so theyre extremely rough. The race he won was more of an American style track and hard pact, so while being dry and slick, it wasnt nearly as rough and it broke down similar to AMA track... a lot more tight inside lines and chop, compared to railing around the outsides that GP's are known for.. and arguably the biggest thing, he was burned out and done but coulsnt get out of his contract.. So it was either a full year in the AMA series, or GP (idk how he convinced Kawi into that) and travel the world and treat it like a vacation. His goal wasn't a world title, I think if we got a prime Villo that wanted to win GP's and had the mindset that took him to 4 straight supercross titles, we would of seen a different outcome. But yeah, I think it was just a perfect storm of issues that made his time in the GP's what it was...that back injury was no joke either, it messed him up for a long time afterwards.
@@yamahakid450f couldn’t have explained it any better lol
I know james faster rider . buT sorry james . RC RYAN BETTER THEN YOU . .
I really miss watching villopoto bulldog his way through the track every weekend
15:20 was crazy
Idc both in prime tomac would have beat rv
They raced each other lots of times lol
@@johnnyvivic8730 but eli wasn’t primed i think beast mode eli beats em all including rc just my opinion
@@johnnyvivic8730 Eli wasn’t in his prime
Probably, both the best of the 2010’s
Vilo got more champions ships he more consistently and hook up eli tomac mxon 2014 that was his fastest he ever rode a 450 and that was ryan last year too eli rode that 450 at mxon in 2014 fastest iv ever seen ever, iv never seen anyone ride a 450 like that he nearly blew it up he rode it that hard, ever herlings said it too
