Just curious…why do you give them this thick porridge? They would not get this thickness from their mother’s breast. Other care facilities like the “Vervet Monkey Foundation” may be a good source of information for you.

I DONT understand why the doctor would tell you to just give that little bit of pedilyte. i understand her tummy is small but if your baby has to be on a clear liquid diet for 24 hours , for whatever reason, every meal in that 24 hours is pedilyte. you dont just skip the bottles , you give her the pedi water and not tap water. . you should give her the water before the food because you need her to drink more water right now. . you should ask the doctor again about the pedi water because you could have heard him wrong about the amount .. i have never heard a doctor say ONLY give just 5ml .. the doctor usually says , let them drink as much pedi water as they want to satisfy the dehydrated feeling. and the diarrhea is good reason to fill that bottle up with pedi water and let her drink before she eats.. she may not really want to eat , but she is hungry but you dont offer her the water first.. this is good water with all kinds of vitamins and minerals in it.. if you had nothing to feed ruby but the pedi water she would be fine for days as long as the bottle of pedi water was available for her to get to whenever she wanted a drink or felt hungry... not going to say tryst me , but i will say i would never suggest something that would harm any baby or that i would not do for my babys myself.
