Watching your video made me smile. your attention to fine details is outstanding. Now, I am by no means a Phantom expert, as I worked Tomcats. that stated, on the F-14, the brakes are painted white, but get weathered quickly, even after a wash job. With that in mind, your work is quite close to the reality. As to the landing gear, between grease, hydraulic fluid, and basic grime, the white is difficult to clean. Amazing workmanship, and inspiring attention to detail. Thank you for sharing this experience. AT2(AW) USN VF-101 Grim Reapers.
Very nice work on the landing gear, gear bays and gear doors. I remember them as being a dirty mess. The aft part of a Phantom with all the different metals, high heat, burned fuel, etc. I remember was also a dirty mess. What I remember most though is cleaning the surfaces. Fun times. Great build. Thanks for explaining. I have a number of various Phantom kits in the stash, mostly Hasegawa and a couple of Academy 1/72 scale kits. Have one Academy 1/48 scale that I started but put it away for some reason. I do have the Tamiya 1/32 scale F4J that I have completed as VMFA-AW-451. The Warlords, she is a huge model. She is over 10 years old and still is top shelf in my display cabinet.
Thank you for your feedback. It is always nice to have someone, who actually came in contact with the airplane, share his opinion and experience. Happy holidays!
Hey now, between The Final Countdown, GI Joe, and Top Gun, the Tomcat was my dream job, until I found out that "if it ain't leaking, it's broke." AT2(AW) USN VF-101
That looks nice, but two things: the area you’re finishing is titanium on the real F-4. Titanium has a distinctly orange cast to it, not blue. Second, all that beautiful work on an F-4B needs to be completely covered with a thick layer of black soot to be accurate.
I appreciate the feedback, I don't know if you noticed but I had an image in the video showing the blue section... failing to represent that effect is totally on me but there is definitely blue. Also I get that it is covered in sooth but sometimes I would trade realism for visuals :)
In my opinion, the heat effects on the bare metal make or break a phantom build. Yours is one of the best I've seen.
Thanks mate 👍, I agree, but those effects are pretty much hidden when the model is on it's legs unfortunately

Thank you for your feedback, it's always nice to hear from someone who actually was in contact with these machines!
Red, White and Nozzle elements on the Phantom are always the most challenging!
Good work!
Thanks mate!

Absolutely amazing.
I never thought to use oil paints as a pre-shade... I'm going to try that now!
FYI, the oil paint needs to properly cure, otherwise laquer paints will most likely melt it.
The metal work looks great. A lot of masking for sure ! The final look is very realistic. Can't wait to see the final build video !
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful work. Love the exhausts. That dust interior looks great.
Thanks a bunch!
Amazing, as always. Looking forward for the seats, it'll be legendary
Coming soon!
@MMScaleModels Ok... I didn't want to buy this model, but inspiration comes watching your videos. Let's see if finally i get this beauty from Tamiya
This is one of those kits that must be experienced IMO.
Great work as per usual. Next time try highlighting in yellow if spraying red to avoid the pink effect.
I tried with yellow, on a side piece. It gets into the orange, so that's why I chose to repeat with buff color.
*Amazing work, you've so much patience for masking and use the good products at the good time. Painting a Phantom requires a lot of methods.*
Thanks mate. I agree, this generation of airplanes is probably the most demanding era in terms of techniques and materials.
Stunning... knocked it out the park
Thank You 👍
The F4 THE fighter of childhood in 70s. Even the F14 with Tom Cruise couldnt change it. F4 awesome sound and looking sooo angry 😊

Yeah, I am split between this and the Tomcat, they are both awesome :)
You, sir, are an artist!
Thank you 👍
Nice work and nice tutorial 👏👏👏
Thanks a lot 😊
Love your work!
Glad you enjoy it!
Me too, got hook on him with his F4U Corsair build.
Thanks mate!
Superb! 👌🏻👍🏻👏🏻

They were smokers, weren't they
Cool
Thanks
БЛЕСТЯЩЕ !!!
Thank You!
excelent👍🏻
Thank You!
You should really thinn down your paints more, it’s way to speckling and you will have a much better time painting.
Yeah, I know 😁. I do thinn them, but sometimes, in the beginning, it is not the case... and I get it on camera.
Nice work othe model. But I do not like the AI voice-over. Sounds strange. Why not keep recording your voice. It was much more authentic.
I am a bit puzzled, this is my voice... narrating.
@MMScaleModels that's Strange. Because I hear a German voice-over.
Oh, well that's the automatic voice over from RUclips. You can turn it off.

I don't know if it is the translation or something, but I don't understand what you mean
