Fun Fact: In the fight against Arkham, a second player can play as Vergil. This is also true with the Doppelganger style where a second player can play as the Doppelganger.
Since Super Dante has infinite Devil Trigger, if you play as Super Dante with Doppelganger style you can play through the game with a second player :)
(Also I just saw they've added a co-op feature for the Bloody Palace in the Switch port of DMC3)

Oh DMC3 Vergil, almost blew my shoulder out the first time I beat him.
42:47 you can deflect his moves, you just dont do it or know how to. Everything Vergil does you can too ( except for those warping sword slashes because don't have that sword.) . There is aloooot you can be doing. Its difficult for you cause the game is expecting for you to have a varied moveset by now outside of just the basic sword attack and trickster warp.
You can also deflect his attacks by swinging your sword the same time his reaches yours but that's much harder to do reliably without getting his moves in muscle memory, so I wouldn't advise that but its also an option.
If you kill 100 demons at the end you get a special ending :)

5 enemies short of bonus cutscenes at the end. You did really well on your first playthrough. Now on to 4 my personal favorite, cant wait.

I binged all of your DMC3 videos and I can't believe that you managed to finished the game without mastering the core mechanics of the game [Lock-on enemy/Switching lock-on enemies]. That feature allows you to perform way more moves and combos besides locking onto more dangerous enemies.
You are also one of those people who actually gets invested in the game unlike those people who are just playing the game for the sake of views.

I know I'm mega late, but if you killed 100 demons in the credits you got a scene that shows what happened to Vergil in Hell.
trust me when you fight arkham when in DMD mode you will feel depressed when you first face it, but, when you have memorized every move and already know the tactics how to beat him you will say "hah so tiring"

Good job on beating vergil. My advice to if you are going to replay this game in the future is do all of the secret missions so that you have 2 full life bars. And as for your vergil fight, it took a while for you to notice the patterns of vergil. The next time you fight vergil again is to always delay your 3rd strike that way vergil will do a block motion and once he do that attack him again to make it an infinite loop.

Tips for this episode
1. If u manage to defeat all of the boss in mission 18, u can get a blue orb shard
2. Against Arkham, best to bring cerberus n agni&rudra. Bring kalina ann as well with ebony n ivory but they wont do any damage to arkham anyway. Agni n rudra best to clear out the minion n cerberus to do damage against arkham
3. Against arkham with vergil, Vergil will follow the combo u make with dante. U will understand more of his combo if u play vergil story. U have to call vergil more frequent as vergil sometime will do his combo without hitting anything. Also, 2nd player can control vergil in this mission. Idk if the feature still available in ps4 but in ps2, u can definetly do it
4. The last mission, I dont have much advice for u. Just, evade all of his attack n attack when u have chance
5. At the credit scene, kill 100 demons n u will get secret ending scene
Congrats on finishing the best DMC game. In DMC4, u will notice that the combos r easier to execute than in DMC3. Also, DMC4 Special Edition allows u to play the story with Vergil, Lady n Trish but the main story focus on Nero n Dante. I'll be waiting for the episode.
Addendum to Ryan Crafer's tips:
1. If you're not interested with the blue orb shard or you just want to finish the stage quicker, you actually only need to defeat 3 bosses. Although I can't remember which, as I can't remember as of this writing.
2. Kalina Ann is also excellent in clearing out the fish/eal monsters that arkham sends after you.

4. From what I remember, the rule of thumb when tackling vergil in all of his boss fights is that avoid trading with him if possible, attacking only after he finishes his combo preferably when you see him sheath his katana. As for when vergil is in Devil Trigger form, I'm also not sure since he doesn't flinch when you attack him while he is in DT form. I guess same rules apply just also be in Devil Trigger but attacking only in short burst and be prepared to dodge since he has less recovery in between attacks.
@@Spectre1301 If Vergil is in DT, your best bet is too JC the shotgun over and over to quickly kick him out of DT. Other than that, royal guard and as you said, REALLY short bursts of attacks.

I do get what you're saying with the repeated boss fights -- it was a common criticism in DMC1 too.
For DMC3 however, Vergil's not really your typical "boss" character -- he's set up more as a rival or a foil to you.
You get stronger and learn new tricks, but so does he. You get new weapons, he gets them too.
Also, search up the extra cutscene you get when you kill 100 enemies at the end; it shows what happens to Vergil after he falls into the pit.

@@eminiclam I just wish they'd explore more of game mechanics and stories. Coz they often fail to connect the dots between 1 and 3, even after the ending of DMC 3.
It's kinda sad how they fight alongside each other and made each other feel nostalgic, but then they fight to the death.

Awesome! Congratz on finishing DMC 3, hell of a ride wasn't it? I'm glad you're enjoying the series so far, while a good number of gamers know the DMC series I still feel that it doesn't get the attention that it deserves compared to some of the more popular games.
The combo you haven't done yet for Rebellion is called Danse Macabre and is an extension of the Million Stab combo executed by rapidly mashing ∆ while executing Million Stab. I've always found it to be the hardest move to execute.

Congratulations on completing DMC3 Alyce! This is why so many people recommend 3 over the others. Despite how old it is it holds up incredibly well, and it's just plain entertaining. Hopefully you enjoy DMC4 and 5, but you're beginning to see why people adore this franchise.

I played this one it first came out on PS2, and I still remember how hard that Vergil boss fight was. You did a really well overall through the whole game, I Really enjoyed this playthrough! Can’t wait to see you play DMC4! Oh and as you seen from some of the comments there is a secret ending if you killed 100 enemies at the end, you could probably just RUclips it thought if you want. Maybe add your reaction to it to the beginning of your DMC4 playthrough.

Nice playthrough👍. Looking forward for DMC4, the place, soundtrack, enemy, is more like angelic theme (but they are still demon lol) that makes the sweetest DMC series. Btw Divinity statue soundtrack in DMC4 so epic heavenly.
You do honestly have the Rebellion down as far as attacks go, but you'll still need to combine it with the other weapons to REALLY boost the combo rank higher
Why wasn't she using other weapons? I've watched a few videos but all I see her use is Rebellion and E&I

@Alyska in DMC4 the styles are all equiped at once so you can change them when in battle and Rebellion Combo B changed not the input

Vergil have 3 weapons And 1 firearm.
1. Yamato the katana given by sparda. Yamato also can cut the dimension. And special power of Yamato is separate demon from human body. Just like vergil doing at DMC 5.
2.beowulf u also know it..
3. Double edge(combine of Yamato and sparda sword)
Vergil's firearm : summoned sword
And the last is vergil fight style is dark slayer (like dantes trickster style)

The reason you're getting our butt kicked by virgil is because you're too predictable with your attacks.
Just spamming YYY and stinger, that makes it easier for vergil to perfect block you.

Jumping is an universal dodge in the series, so you don't need Trickster all the time, the same applies to all the other games on the series

After finishing all hard modes you van play as vergil and lady too
So a little tip in Vergil's 3rd battle use Kalina ann to do extra damage.

After he decides on the name for the shop in the end there also an extra cut scene you skipped on what happens to vergil when he stays in hell. Basically mundus appairs before vergil. Vergil being wounded from fighting dante decides to fight him head on. Quote if my father can defeat the prince of hell then so can i....but loses and Mundus possess his mind and turns him into nelo angelo as you know. Hope u can find the extra scene

Not gonna lie. It was also emotional for me too.
2 things for when you play 4.
1. Don't turn on automatic mode when it asks you. Its just super baby mode. The only people who should use it are people who are physically disabled and need the extra help
2. Try to taunt more often. The taunts in 4 (also 5) are insane

Auto assist is a liability most of the time.
Also, switch weapons more. Use other styles than trickster. Dont just use the basic combo. Learn boss' attack patterns and exploit it.
Hey you missed the secret ending if you kill 100 monsters you unlock a secret ending which shows you what happened to vergil if you have a save of mission 20 rewind it you need to watch that secret ending before moving to dmc4 anyway nice video keep it up :)
Firstly u have to only fight regni and rudra and ice dog boss and the next one to make a circle
If only she got to experience the original difficulty of the ps2 version. Vergil in devil trigger does huge amounts of damage and stays in devil trigger for much longer.

The only difficulties that remain the same in both versions are Dante must die and heaven or hell.

@@arsalanonlineofficial Yeah dmd is pretty insane on dmc3. Turbo mode makes it even harder aswell. Certain attacks become borderline impossible to react to with turbo turned on. Heaven or hell was a breeze though if you ask me. The only annoying parts on heaven or hell where the spikes in missions 6 and 17 or any part that involved environmental hazards. You can just shoot all the enemies since they all die in one hit.
Conor1997 turbo mode is cool but is honestly a nightmare on DMC 3. It’s pretty much necessary for me on dmc 4 and I ain’t played 5 yet coz I can’t afford it and I’m saving up for a new arcade stick for tekken 7

Aww man...you didn't manage to kill 100 enemy during the credit. Kill 100 enemy will unlock secret ending that show Vergil try to challenge Mundus, which pretty much explain how he became Nelo Angelo in DMC1. Still great vid

I don`t know if you know, but you can play with another person when using doppelganger style or with Vergil in that battle. The second player must press start... It is a cool easter egg.

Now that you've been fully initialized into Devil may Cry, I highly recommend on top of playing DMC 4 and 5 that you should also play Bayonetta.

If you defeated a hundred enemies you get a special cut scene in how Virgil ended up being the knight in the first game just to let you know
honestly,the first two Vergil fights were easy even on very Dante Must Die,but then the last fight comes,where you die in about 3-4 hits and the second he gets you in a chain your fucked

Good job ! The final Vergil fight is considered as one of the best in the whole serie. DMC3 as a whole is. I hope you enjoyed it a lot. Getting to hear that BANGER during the credits feels so good.
DMC4 has the highest skill ceiling, and Dante will be kinda hard to play in this game. But it will be alright. It's also easier to pull off a combos.
Since you have SE, you will also get enough to buy every specials moves for everyone ( DLCs + Main ) / weapons before even starting, which is cool, you won't be limited. I would say that activating Turbo mode for that ones DEFINITELY gives the best experience too. The fluidity is soooooo good in this game.
SE also happens to unlock DLC characters, but they don't give you a story unfortunately. So I guess it should still be the normal one for the playtrhought, but on the side, they are fun.
