This usbhost module doesn't let me sleep at night anymore. :) How many problems and how much stress ...... . there is always something it doesn't find during compilation for example "usb class". i will try again everything following also your video hoping to solve it once and for all. :)

i have an OEM host shield, but a knock off Arduino, points are soldered but still failed to write unless i remove host shield. can i program without host shield then attach and use? im assuming not as the host shield needs to be programed with? as iv tried and it dosent seem to work and the LED dose not Light.

I bought a USB host shield and soldered it myself. There was no power at all
I tried to charge my phone with it, plug in my mouse, etc.
Then I bought a pre-soldered one from ebay and the solder looks good.
No power either. Trying this on an Arduino Leonardo

There is the problem!
Those shields are made to work with Arduinos with the ATmega328 inside; They dont work with the Leonardos.
