    My problem with Star Wars is that it’s gotten too political in fan discussions, left or right.

      I agree, it's gotten too political in the agendas that's Disney and Kathleen Kennedy are shoving down our throats.

    Disney screws up everything they touch! Now that they own The Simpsons, I expect it to sour very soon! Thanks for the time you put into this video! 👍💚

    Love this essay! Probably the most Honest essay about Star Wars and Agendas that Kathleen Kennedy and her WOKE group put into Syar Wars. I was There on opening Premier in 1977 of STAR WARS and yes its Political but not pushing an Agenda back then. If they wrote stories that didn't push there ideas of Politics and wrote stories like the original ones. They would be big Successes and I don't want anyone thinking I'm talking about skin color that has nothing to do with the agenda I'm talking about, I don't care if they use Black's Latino, Native American, India Indians, Asians ect... I'm talking about thinking they need to please every group of people out there MRS KENNEDY YOU DONT HAVE TO PLEASE THE SHILLS! Have a Great Script that's about STAR WARS Origin Story and it will be a HUGE SUCCESS!
    ANnd For The Person That Says 99% Don't know what WOKE is Please explain sense you obviously do?

    The idea that the SW fandom will go back to enjoying new SW again is long gone. It'll never happen. Why? Cause no one hates SW like SW fans.

    Star Wars has always been political tho. Saying that "they're shoving politics down our throats" is a strange statement to make when the franchise literally has "war" in it's title and focuses on various political themes. It seems like most fans either misunderstood the messages or simply ignored them cause it didn't add up with whatever they made up in their head. Same with how "fans" label everything to be "woke" when 99.9% of them don't even know what the word means. Wanting a good product isn't bad, but harassing someone or being a downright dick isn't a good look imo.

    • @McKeinMull
      @McKeinMull  Месяц назад +1

      Star Wars has its own universes politics and yes they can make political messages from a generally neutral position, but that isn't what I'm talking about what I am talking about is using these franchise to take a very non neutral position from real world politics and then shoehorning their personal political agendas into Star Wars that has a broad audience from all over the political spectrum, I don't think it's smart or good to appeal to only those that align with your political beliefs and isolate everybody else. How am I harassing or being a dick by simply stating my opinion on this matter?

      @_Dar_29 Месяц назад +2

      @McKeinMull I didn't mean you specifically and I apologize if I gave off that impression as it wasn't my intent at all, I was mainly talking about the people who would look at a character like Reva and say that her inclusion is political due to her skin color, even tho the character would've remained the same regardless of who would've played her. There's just a lot of pick and choosing happening in the community where some accept certain political ideals being portrayed yet would get upset at other ideals that don't match their own OR would call something an agenda even if it's just a person existing. Sorry again for the confusion and the long ass paragraphs, take care man.

    • @McKeinMull
      @McKeinMull  Месяц назад +2

      @_Dar_29 Oh okay, your good man, thank you. I agree, I didn't see the problem with Reva being portrayed by a person of color, I don't fully understand the criticism there. I also agree that people who align with whichever agenda or political ideal they are leaning towards won't mind while the opposite would. Hence why I suggest that Lucasfilm takes a political neutral position rather than aligning with either side, and it can be done George Lucas did it in the prequels and Dave Filoni did it with Clone Wars.

  • @Pomoscorzo
    @Pomoscorzo Месяц назад +1

    The divide already started with the prequels. You can basically do anything with Star Wars - fans don't mind female protagonists, PoC or even beloved characters like Han Solo getting killed. The only thing you can't do is portray the Jedi as anything but heroes. The minute a Jedi or a group of them is portrayed as flawed or at least humanized, an outcry goes to heaven.
    I wouldn't want to produce Star Wars. It must be a wonderful canvas to work with, but all of the hate coming from the fans must be a nightmare.

    • @McKeinMull
      @McKeinMull  Месяц назад +1

      First, thank you for watching and leaving a comment, I really do appreciate it. Fans problems with Disney Lucasfilm showing corrupted Jedi in for instance The Acolyte, the reason it was a problem to a lot of fans is because we've already explored that in the prequels and TCW. They had a chance to show the audience the Jedi through a different lens, show them at the Jedi were once at the top of their game and were at a time uncorruptible, but we just got more of the same. Thank you for taking time out of your day to watch my video and leave a comment, I genuinely do appreciate it.

      @Pomoscorzo Месяц назад +1

      @@McKeinMull Maybe the studios will finally wise up and show the audience a film or tv show where the Jedi are at the top of their game. This might stop the hatred. Or it could be too late.

      Maybe, and I hope they do, but so long as the keep the current people in charge in their positions, I unfortunately doubt they will. But, we can hold out hope. 🤞

    "the force is female" was a Nike campaign that Kathleen participated in, not a direct message. Please do proper research next time cause things like this get crudded in misinformation all the time.
