There was fault in both sides. Activision undermined bungie's creative direction. They had Marty working on the destiny soundtrack. Activision made an E3 trailer and did not use Marty's music. Marty made that public on Twitter and it pissed off Activision. Several events afterwards ensued and Marty had displayed problems with authority and slacked way off and was not working well with the sound team and not meeting deadlines. He started dragging the whole project down and so Bungie had to fire him. Bottom line is that Mart O'Donnel is a loose cannon and Activision is a control freak. It wasn't going to work.
