Excellent explanation. Personal experience. We have worked both in London and in India. London has 40hr work week. We work from 9to 5.30 including break. Here we work for 9to 11 hours a day. We were much more happier and productive in London. More time does not equal more productivity. It means compromised work environment and product quality.

totally agree , recent case is the samsung issue. it has been resolved but look carefully and notice that the workers have not been allowed to unionise further. this means that the company lets you and bends for today but in the future they will ensure workers don't assemble together. this can be easily done by inducing nepotism, internal competition, seeding controlled opposition and always rotating staff. heck my company even stopped hiring permanent workers and keeps rotating temporary labors every 2yrs just to escape legalities

I am working in IT (**L) company, official work hour is 9:30hrs for 5 days. But if you come and leave on time they will discriminate you. Monthy 2 to 4 days you need to work extra on week ends. If you ask for oncall allowance they will say you to take comp off, but if you take comp off they will reduce your increment saying you are no doing any extra effort. I spoke too much policy for 3 years and i am top performer in my team and got 3 out of 5 rating which will get 50000 per year, and the catch is half the money will go in variable pay and the company trick is they never pay more than 60% of that to any employee.

it has been resolved but look carefully and notice that the workers have not been allowed to unionise further.
this means that the company lets you and bends for today but in the future they will ensure workers don't assemble together.
this can be easily done by inducing nepotism, internal competition, seeding controlled opposition and always rotating staff.
heck my company even stopped hiring permanent workers and keeps rotating temporary labors every 2yrs just to escape legalities

I am working in IT (**L) company, official work hour is 9:30hrs for 5 days. But if you come and leave on time they will discriminate you. Monthy 2 to 4 days you need to work extra on week ends. If you ask for oncall allowance they will say you to take comp off, but if you take comp off they will reduce your increment saying you are no doing any extra effort. I spoke too much policy for 3 years and i am top performer in my team and got 3 out of 5 rating which will get 50000 per year, and the catch is half the money will go in variable pay and the company trick is they never pay more than 60% of that to any employee.
