Star Trek Nemesis Deleted Scene: "Where noone has gone before"

- Опубликовано: 30 окт 2009
- A deleted scene from Star Trek: Nemesis where Picard is introduced to his new first officer, tests out his new captain chair and goes to explore another system. This is an alternate ending I got from Star Trek Nemesis DVD. IMO, I don't know why the hell they deleted it, it is (better said, would be) one of best moments in entire movie.
This isn't made by me. Paramount please don't sue me, because that would be rude and mean. Thank you very much. - Кино
I love that smirk Picard gives the new First Officer after learning Will pranked him. Like
"Oh that Will...what a funny man."
I will never understand why this scene was cut. This, to me, is the best note to end the TNG era on. Bright, optimistic, and boldly going where no one has gone before.
+Robert Brown they still kept the exploding consoles though
+jednoucelovy These things must take a long time to figure out i guess. The look on that Ensigns face at 2:28 though. Priceless. Also Picard saying it was about time. These film people are nuts to take out all these good scenes. I guess they were just not dark and violent enough.
+jednoucelovy Don't worry. I'm sure they will re-invent fuses at some point.
Daniel Appleton
I am sure this is not in debate. I always loved it myself. Especially the bannister stunts. They were the best.
+Robert Brown
Rick Berman is an idiot.
I love riker's smug smile when he strolled into the turbo lift. His whole face says "too good to pass up"
"Gentlemen, enjoy!"
Yeah no kidding took em what almost 200 years to decide to put seat belts on these damn ship, maybe next we can design the consoles to not explode in people's faces
TheSilverPhoenix100 Kirk had the arms of the chairs fold down if I'm not mistaken. this would result be the equivalent to a lap belt in the 60s
But where is the fun?
And how would they do that?
Lmfao
In another time line the original enterprise had seatbelts.
I want the optimism back.
I want what once was.
Having had cancer, i now struggle more, because there is less to struggle for. I miss old trek, I miss old me.
Anyone else instantly want more TNG adventures after watching this scene??
The Next Gen Movies were all extremely bad to mediocre. Nostalgia consumers cause dwindling quality.
@Grayson Peddie What the fuck are you talking about
The novel series with the Enterprise-E is awesome reading.
Well, you got your wish, don't know how good it will be though, www.nerdnewstoday.com/leaked-set-photos-from-star-trek-picard-show-new-outfits/
well thanks to Discovery, I'd have to say you bet your ass
We have the Picard series coming out but I think the Nex Gen, DS9 and even Voyager days are sadly loooong gone
This feels like a documentary clip showing the every day simple moments of Captain Jean-Luc Picard when he's not busy saving the Quadrant.
The latest in starfleet technology: Seatbelts.
+TGGeko Warp drive apparently was a lot easier than seatbelts in the Star Trek universe.
+TGGeko
I always assumed that the inertial dampeners made seatbelts obsolete. I'm guessing some sanctimommies wrote in and were outraged that the captain wasn't in a rear-facing 5 point restraint seat.
Jacob Hoss How many times has some bridge bunny been thrown across the room from a torpedo hit or something?
The type-15 shuttle craft had seat belts in that one scene in one episode.
That's an inconsistency. The impact of accelerating to warp should be far more intense than any torpedo hit.
Commander Madden was played by Stephen Culp, who ended up playing the MACO officer Major Hayes in the Star Trek Enterprise series. He also played Bobby Kennedy in the excellent film Thirteen Days, about the Cuban Missile Crisis. Great actor.
Also Speaker of the House Jeff Haffley in "The West Wing"
He played Clayton web in JAG series, in many seasons
Bring him back in Lower Decks!
I’ve never said this before but this is one deleted scene they should’ve left in!!!! 😍👍🏻
My thoughts EXACTLY!
I disagree. At this point in the film, much of the audience was still reeling from Data’s demise. Ending with the suggestion that he was still ‘alive’ in the memory of B4 was a stronger point to end on. This clip in isolation looks like fun but edited into the final film it would have just made the whole franchise seem to fizzle out - even with the cheesy use of ‘...where no-one’s gone before’ as the final words.
yeah tbh i think that this scene wouldve been better than the scene with B4
How do you not promote one of your own? This made no sense
The scene doesn't work. It doesn't give us any new information other than that the new first officer is someone we've never met before... And who is that man? A generic looking middle aged officer with almost no charisma oozing off of him.
This would have been a terrible ending to a mediocre at best movie. They made the right call to end with B4 and Picard walking to the bridge with hope.
Hope we get to see the Sovereign class again some day, it's a beautiful ship, and I feel like only three movies wasn't enough of it!
I actually wanted a TNG relainch after the movies with the Sovereign class Enterprise!!
Looks like it finally got its due in PIC S2! Even though it was only in the background it was really great to see the big Sov again! Now let’s hope we’ll see more of it…
@@danielhaire6677 That would have been absolutely awesome.
@@corinth492 Look up the intro for Elite Force 2. That gives you an idea of how a TV show intro would have looked and it would have been awesome
Guess it won't be happening now, thanks to Worf, although he claims it wasn't his fault lawlz....give Geordi another 20 years and maybe he'll get around to restoring her...
to me , this wouldve been the perfect send off similar to , The Undiscovered Country when Kirk says, Second Star to the right and straight on til morning followed by his final captains log
Thats how you get to never never land you know! kirk was quoting peter pan :)
Actually this is a pretty realistic turnover, in the Navy we almost always mess with the new guy.
true but I doubt that would include undermining the new XO. although truth be told usually first meeting of New XO AND CO would have been held in private so that any misunderstanding not be visible to the crew
The officers on the bridge were all senior officers and command staff though.
1Invinc ok I see Worf, LaForge.... but I also see about a dozen OTHER people, I seriously doubt they were ALL the senior staff...
Steven Heckert Most of them would be senior staff though not necessarily command staff. And considering the ship was undergoing refits, some might be civilian contractors that you'll never see ever again. xD
well i think all of them have a sense of humour. so i dont think the new first officer would be mad at them. or well, atleast when they start theyre first poker round ^^
The more I see this scene, the more I wish it was kept in the film. It's much more in tune with the essence of The Next Generation.
Riker being a troll. Gotta love 'em. And the seat-belt! Fans have been making jokes about that for years XD
Fans and cast members lol I seem to recall Leonard Nimoy saying something about it once.
TMP had seat restraints.
In wonder if the captain would be fined for not wearing seatbelts.
Now they just need to get rid of the rocks from inside the consoles, and to make them from non-conductive materials. ;)
@@FiXato But the conductive rocks carry the current, how would the console work?
-Sir can you give me advice about captain Picard?
-Well he`s huge fan of Jamaharon, so you`d better come out with something in order to impress him
-Oh, ok!
The reason Picard never laughed it off is because he always envisioned Data as his “Number One”
Since this was a deleted scene, the Pocket Book novels that followed Nemesis made Worf the new first officer. And the Picard prequel novel revealed Worf got promoted to Captain when Picard made Admiral.
That one deleted scene just made up for the rest of Nemesis.
I love picard's stern unflinching disapproving gaze as he turned away from Madden.
He knew full well that Madden was set up, He didn't take any offense at all, but he DID want to teach Cmdr Madden not to be so naive and trusting the next time.
That disapproving stare is a harsh lesson!
He should have just called him "JL" Picard seems to be pretty cool with that apparently.
Yea 100% is what I wanted to comment on. Fucking shit clueless writers on Picard. Even if it's a deleted scene who doesn't KNOW JL would never fucking fly.
hdtv00 well when he resigned kind of made sense but in the flash back that didn’t make any sense, would’ve been nice too know what happened to the Enterprise
@@hdtv00 Exactly. The only person in Picard's life that he would've allowed to call him Jean-Luc is Beverly Crusher because of the friendship that they have had for 30+ years by the time "Nemesis" took place. Having someone like Raffi who is not someone Picard knows for decades calling him JL seems out of character.
@@hdtv00 you do realize that not only is he the reason Raffi got kicked out of Starfleet but he's also not the captain of the ship they are on together? He realistically can't say shit if he wants her help
I absolutely hated the character Raffi. She was not needed. No story line or backstory that meant anything to the fan base. I did like how they tried to write Raffi out of season 3, which was great Trek.
So many cuts scenes that add humanity to the movie. Plus a nugget that ties into Picard Tv show.
I hate to admit that I had never seen this before; can you imagine? After so many years of having seen every minute of every show I am sitting here watching this incredible scene for the first time. Thank you for posting. I feel like... I feel good.
Loved the look on Picards face when he called him "Jean Luc", you could just see him going Damnit Will in his head as he rolled with it.
There's another deleted scene from earlier in the film where Picard asks Wesley Crusher (who has returned to Starfleet) if he's looking forward to serving aboard the Titan. Which means that Riker is going to be stuck with this kid AGAIN. A fitting punishment for wrecking two Enterprises. Have fun Will!
Why does everyone hate him so much? I mean, yeah, he was annoying, but he grew up.
Stanimir Georgiev It's a running joke about how annoying he used to be.. Not how he has become.. :D
Did the apprentice godling bit not work out?
Any time I've seen Will Wheaton outside of character, as himself, he is actually a very awesome person. I first experienced his real persona by surprise as a guest host on the old techtv show, 'Ask for Help,' then again on 'Screensavers.' His current web show, 'table top,' is particularly fantastic. In hindsight, I wish the character of Wesley Crusher was allowed to mature into Will's true personality. It would've depicted character growth, humor, wit, & not felt so tight. I wouldn't mind seeing him play a new star trek character in a new series which is more like himself. Richard Dean Anderson & Ben Browder both proved intelligent humor works in science fiction tv shows when done well. Wheaton exudes this naturally.
Wonder if David Mack intentionally left that out of the novels...
I kinda wish we could have had a relaunch series from this point. Would have been interesting to see the Enterprise E in a series with this crew, kinda shake things up.
Deadpool agreed
These actors all wanted to move on. (Biggest reason they offed Data was because he was aging too quick for the role and just wasn't interested any more.) Though the age thing they get by with Data simply saying he modified his skin to show his age. But beyond that you're talking they had a 7 season series and 4 movies. Something around 15 years of reprising those roles? They were done. No matter how much I would have loved to see the main Trek timeline continue it would have never been with the same people and actors. And I still hate how they killed Data off.
+llamapi3 Patrick Stewart didn't really mind either way. He was fine with continuing or ending it.
Data dying was lame esp since the same actor was seen playing an identical role! Had Data died and there was no B4 and no official Star Trek Countdown comic to launch Trek 2009 movie clearly featuring Data as we knew him for years on TNG and the TNG movies meaning he looked like Brent I would be ok Brent wants out I understand that but to show us a identical android played by Brent--it just doesnt gel at all
It's not that the role was boring for him. He loved the role. It's just that he believed that he had visibly aged out of the role. It didn't think it believable that an unaging android with a child like perspective on everything, viewing everything with wonder, would be believably received by audiences with an old man playing the role. Even though data could alter his appearance at will and "age" himself, Brent Spiner didn't think it "fit" with the character to be played by an older man.
I ignored the bad press about this Star Trek outing and honestly, being a lifelong Trekker, I was thrilled! This is the best in the Next Generation movie series second only to Generations! Nemesis has that great cinematic overture that the others sorely lack, Nemesis is a true theatrical science fiction adventure! I loved it
It was a pretty bad movie. As if they were scheduled to make a Trek film, but weren't really sure what they wanted to say.
Why the hell was this scene cut??? It ends the film perfectly.
I just re-watched Nemesis earlier this week. I remember watching this once before and see it again. I am officially naming this the REAL ending to Nemesis, don't care what anyone says! So much more fitting to the original tone of the show. The way it ended in the actual version was stupid. Picard walks out of the room and then they show the Enterprise in the construction scene. Seemed lame. Much nicer to see it flying through space again with one last shot of Picard in the captains chair.
This is actually really good. I can't believe they cut this. It's much better than the ending they went with, which I don't even remember...
THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ENDING!!
***** Hell, yeah. At least Enterprise - E is going to still cruise the stars. Enterprise - A was decommissioned after, what, 2 ( ? ) missions.
Daniel Appleton What makes you think it had only 2 missions? It was decommissioned after 7 years of service - that's a showfull of missions.
Stanimir Georgiev 2 missions depicted in the MOVIES. Yeah, there could've been others btwn ST : The Voyage Home ( where it was introduced ) & ST : VI : The Undiscovered Country.
Daniel Appleton I am sure there were more. It would be quite weird to build a ship for 2 missions. I imagine the guys at Starfleet command talking: "Lets make a new ship!" And 2 missions later: "Ok that was fun now scrap her" =D
Stanimir Georgiev Enterprise A began its' time with an optimistic " shake down " cruise, then in Star Trek V, Kirk acts like it's a LEMON with warp nacelles.
Still one of the best looking Starfleet ships ever
It is funny when Pickard discovers the seatbelts and he says: "about time!". It has been a recurring question for decades why the starships in Star Trek don't have a damn seatbelt in their seats.
20th Century - seat belts invented, mandatory in automobiles
24th Century - people still getting thrown around the bridge in starships..
They have inertial dampeners
@@joabjohnstone5217 yes, but they don't serve of much when they are being thrown constantly away from their seats with any hit 😅
@@TheArtofWalls A seatbelt wont help much when the console blows up i your face and kills you 🤣
This ending is much better than the original ending. Sure, the original marks the end of Data's story and the beginning of B-4's, but this one shows that ultimately, life goes on for Picard and his crew.
New XO: "Jean-Luc"
Picard: "So, you have chosen death"
(6 years later in 2385):
Raffi (Admiral Picard's XO): "'So JL, what's up?''
Picard: Everything is swell, Raffi! Thanks for asking."
I think the only reason they cut this scene was because they decided if they got a sequel Worf was going to be the first officer.
Good sequence, but I can see a couple of reasons for being left out of the final cut. The safety belt and shoulder harness gag was very good indeed, as the lack of them in all ST series is unexplainable...
I laughed out loud watching it just now, although I've seen it before (on the DVD, I guess, if it wasn't in theaters). Did you catch Worf's glare?
Humor has always been part of Star Trek.
And the last line? "Where no one has gone before". Perfect way to end the TNG crew's movies (I don't remember if the theatrical release ended with that line).
I think that's 4 minutes well spent.
The look on Riker's face as the turbolift closes...Trolling...alive and well, even in the future.... :D
I miss the optimistic inquisitive vision of the future Star Trek used to have.
It's all burning dystopias now isn't it?
@Kampy187 It's been woke since the 60s, and I don't know about "socialist", but in Star Trek 8 Picard said they didn't work for money.
The one where every guest star was evil, particularly Admirals, and the Enterprise crew had to rebel all the time?
This wonderful scene makes the entire JL thing from STP even more ludicrous. It may have ultimately been left to deleted scenes, but it perfectly exemplifies what Worf, Geordi, and especially Riker - who were as close to Picard as he got to his crew - knew about him, and what the audience knows about him, and that little wink to us is why it's funny and a great final scene for Riker. Shame that Picard's entire character, and the Federation and Starfleet, had to be deconstructed for Dystopian Trek.
The Denab System. Ref. to Encounter at Farpoint ;)
Christoffer K: I'm like, "Deneb!? That was the first planet you visited on that ship: 'Deneb IV, beyond which lies the great unexplored mass...of the galaxy.'"
@@MKDumas1981 It essentially means that Starfleet, for some damn reason, never explored beyond the Deneb system during the entire TNG era. Like, what was holding them back?
@@gebauzchris Well...the Borg,the Romulans,and later,the Dominion^^

LOL that engineering dude's smug looks to Worf are too good
i miss the good old star trek days :)
I miss that 1990s sweet spot for science fiction which included Next Gen, DS9, Voyager, and many other shows.
That new First Officer needs a beard.
He would have grown it for season 2 onwards....
Make it so!!!!=)
Jdh87 not necessarily. What I've learned from Star Trek is that the XO must either be an alien race or has facial decoration be it a beard or tattoo.
Make it so, Number One!!
He will, in a year.
goodbye my childhood friends thank you for adding to a happy childhood full of memories
2:27 Worf gets denied again
haaaaaa EPIC!!! lol
No wonder why he left that damn ship for better things at DS9.
@@olindetroit7636 The irony being is that this film is set after DS9 and Worf had for some reason decided to go back to Starfleet and rejoin the Ent-E's crew
Worf should have been made number one following Data’s death.
Crusher should have been on the bridge, could have been talking with Geordi.
Holy shit it's Major Hayes!

You can never have enough Star Trek. I really miss TNG
Yes, I agree. This is very unique. They laughed together and had great fun working on the show. They were great crew in front of the camera and same off the camera. Patrick Stewart admited in one of the interviews, that there are very few people, who he knows he can count on everytime he gets in trouble. And those are his friends from TNG.
awww... i miss these guys. The new Star Trek just isn't the same
"Picard is introduced to his new first officer" Hes old as fuck, he was on the NX-01!
this would have been a better ending.
heh, "boout tiiime,"
it feels like the end to a cheap drama or sitcom
No way, this would have been a proper way to end, showing the Enterprise flying off. Not the cheap ass shit we got
+Scott Walsh the whole film was shit. Data dying is it's high and low point in terms of drama. It's not all bad as endings go but it's so cheap as they casually chat in the back like a dodgy sitcom.
I agree, the film was bad, but this ending would have been better
It was cut because the director had no idea about the history of Star Trek TNG. He wasn't even a fan, as he's documented as saying several times. It's not surprising that Stewart and many other cast members called for an "actors cut" once they saw the finished film. So much was missing (cut) that they felt the end product lacked the necessary ingredients for a proper farewell to the crew. I completely agree. I wonder if, someday, an 'enterprising' film student will finish these scenes and splice them back into the movie.
One can hope.
It was cut because it the plot was wrapped up, and sticking in 4 minutes of irrelevant comedy before the credits would be stupid.
How about make another movie!
@@ThreadBomb Yes, because it would have brought a hint of Star Trek TNG's optimism to the grim, depressing, morbid, sinister, callous, and bloodthirsty addition to the Star Trek universe that was "Nemesis." Gods, what a shitty movie.
Picard season 3 fixed it all
When that young tech smirked at Worf I immediately though "oh shit".
A little going away present from Captain Riker to Captain Picard. LOL! More like a gag gift.
It needs to be put back in.
ahh I want my Old trek back
Picard's little pause and smile!
The most beautiful and shapely Starfleet Ship ever 😊👍🖖
I'm confused... I live in the EU, and this WAS the ending to Nemesis. I watched it just the other week, and found this video as I was scrolling through various scenes.
Looks like it was cut from the American release?
Yeah, we didn't get this.
Where did you watch it?
And thus Star Trek just stopped. Everything since has been back to the past.
Star Trek Online comes after this.
A lot of that is because of the relationship between CBS Corporation and Paramount (which is owned by the current Viacom). They use to be one company as Viacom but when it split in 2005 CBS ended up owning the brand and Paramount the film library even though the shows had been made under Paramount.
CBS really had no interest in Star Trek until they decided to use it for CBS Access and all of the licensing agreements since 2005 mean that nothing new can technically be canon in Prime including Discovery and whatever they do with bringing back Picard. That licensing agreement is why The Kelvin Timeline and Discovery look so different from Prime- they contractually have to be 25% different. I'm not sure how Star Trek Online deals with the licensing but I'm sure they have to go through a lot to get to use the ships and the numerous Star Trek veteran actors and actresses from all six shows (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, and DIS) to do voice work in reprising their role in the MMO.
@@jcohasset23 The 25% is a creative decision, not a legal one - its so they can sell more stuff under multiple labels and lines.
Mike Gallant Not to be hurtful, you can like whatever you like, but a mediocre MMO based on startrek isn’t exactly... true canon, IMO.
Thankfully......We have something that will finally thrust itself forward into the future.
Star Trek Picard will finally detailed us about 20 years after nemesis/voyager.
Star Trek Discovery has been thrust 900 years into the future (800 some years from the tng era) so we get to see new eras in the forthcoming content
RIKER, YOU ARE A MONSTER.
He's a bit gullible, i would default with Captain until Picard himself told me otherwise
Worf should have been First officer after Data's death NOT this guy! So let's blame it on Berman!
From a canon stand point, Worf was severely reprimanded by Sisko for failing to complete a mission in order to save Jadzia from bleeding to death after being hit by a Jem'Hedar bolt. He might not have been allowed to hold a command position because of that.
oh i know! WTF??
gothatway09 Actually he did promote from within. After Tasha was murdered Picard promoted Worf to head of security. He also promoted LaForge to chief of engineering.
PickelJars ForHillary That's a true statement. It all worked out better for Worf later anyways. He became a Federation Ambassador.
Worf didn't have enough experience to be second in command of a large ship. He only had just recently switched to command division on DS9 after coming from a very specialized unit (security/tactical). His experience onboard DS9 was not even that of the XO officer (Major Kira held that spot) . He was also put on report for the incident where he failed his mission just to save his wife. He would not have been approved by the oversight board for the permanent position. The ship needed an experienced executive officer who didn't need to learn on the job. For Worf to have been qualified, he would need to do a stint as an XO with a less capable vessel, such as a transport or smaller cruiser type ship, and if he passed that, then might be worthy of consideration.
"The Deneb system, where noone has gone before"
Ok, now I understand why this scene had to be deleted.
Adrian Monk would love that Captains' chair. It's got a SEAT BELT! In an episode of "MONK", the title character is sitting in a hi-tech van on a stakeout with some FBI agents and he requests to switch seats with Natalie whom is seated in a chair that has a seat belt. Captain Picard's "It's about time" was obviously a result of many fans and fictional officers alike wondering why are there no seat belts in a ship that can travel approximately warp factor 9.4.
Warp 9.5 is not 9.5 times the speed of light it's more like 800-21000 times the speed of light
+Steven Baldi Well, if the inertial dampeners were good enough to keep them from being turned into jelly maneuvering even at impulse speeds, Seat belts should not be necessary. But we're talking Star Trek, where they haven't re-invented fuses for the instrument panels yet.
Being the flagship, I'm sure the inertial dampeners would've been good enough. I like to think that the seat belt was installed in cases where they may have needed to exceed maximum cruise velocity
+Anup Sonigra Regardless of the physics involved, it seems a moot point unless ALL of the bridge chairs were similarly equipped. Otherwise Picard would be calmly issuing orders to crewmen otherwise engaged in their own acrobatics across the bridge.
And that was the last time we saw proper Star Trek. Please come back.
That chair is captain archers from the last episode of enterprise
Really? Trip should have lowered it one more centimeter for Cdr. T'Pol-who also had trouble sitting in it. She ended up mostly standing over Ens. Mayweather.
Riker always trolling ;D
This is a piece of history right here. Its rare that you see a cam video from 2002 in such good quality.
I'm a fan of the whole franchise, but I know how you feel. This was the crew that I grew up with. I'd spent my childhood watching them on TV and in the theater. I miss the time when TNG was new, too.
Wow would have made the perfect post credit scene in a way …
Two things, first isn't Picard's "new" chair Archer's old chair from season 4 of ST:ENT? Also the HAVE been to the Deneb system BEFORE! In the ST:TNG series premiere in fact: Encounter At Farpoint.
It's the same chair.
God I miss TNG these films made me feel human & I had hope for the future, Just hope the new Picard series is up to it.
I have the feeling that Picard knew EXACTLY what was happening as soon as Madden mentioned Riker pulling his leg!
Much better ending -- agreed.
A scene about not calling Captain Picard by his first name.
ST Picard S1E3 somebody keeps calling Admiral Picard JL.
@Leo Peridot I mean it was just established he doesn't prefer an informal name but thanks for wasting time.
Love it when Worf just turns and walks away dejected.
I believe this scene was cut because at first the filming team thought there was going to be another movie so they shot this scene, but when it was revealed that this would be the last it was cut
That was actually pretty good...
Dang I never knew this existed! That was awesome!
I do miss these guys :)
Just imagine Picards next run in with an alien ship. They do screen to screen communications and aliens are greeted with the sight of Picard in what's basically an adult sized baby seat.
Who the was responsible for the final cut? A lot of these deleted scenes, like this and the Chateau Picard scene, helped the film tremendously.
1:15 - 1:35 The dirty look Picard gave to his new First Officer when the latter called him by his first name was so telling of his command style.
Then how come his ex-first officer in "'Picard'' called him JL and got away with it? There's some big plot inconsistencies.
After all that they had been through together⁉️Besides, Picard was retired , and Riker wanted to show everyone that he was fully supportive of Picard.🫡
Sort of reminds me when I messed with a seaman apprentice and had him go on a wild goose chase for the Captain's key for the ship. Everyone was rolling with laughter.
I've seen this movie 10 times, and I never get tired of that ending! - Abe Simpson
That't the one Maco dude from the Enterprise series.
I like this scene its just a shame Worf or La Forge were not made first officer!
In the novels, Commander Madden isn't even included and Worf becomes First Officer when Riker leaves.
When I decided to ignore the critics and bad reviews of Nemesis WOW what a shock! This is the best of all the Star Trek movies it is the most cinematic and exciting of the next generation series in my opinion!
Three senior officers just left. His first officer, his counselor who also had the rank of commander and his senior operational officer. Yet only one came to replace Riker. Nobody for Troi or Data. Even though Data was suppose to take over as first officer and would have needed to be replaced as senior operational officer. Apparently no need for a ship's counselor.
oh god damn it Riker. I can't even watch the moment because of how awkward I know its going to be.
Geordi looked like he was in on the joke, & maybe even Worf as well.
gd...was that really necessary?
And now we know why this was cut. The editors feared it might foster animosity towards Riker. There's also the slow pacing of the scene.
@@digitalmagick it only seems slow because it wasn't edited and there was no music.
Why wasn't Worf considered for first officer? He had been in the command structure on both Enterprises under Captain Picard and served as first officer on DS9. Often commanding the Defiance.
according to the Titan books, Picard assumed that either Word or LaForge would become #1 on the Titan under Riker. both turned him down to remain under Picard. from what I remember Worf was appointed ambassador to Cronos for a time and this first officer eventually transferred or was promoted. LaForge actually has senior over Worf due to this BUT elected to remain chief of engineering, tho he did become 2nd officer (ops Officer was at that time an engineering subordinate.)
Because he's a terrible shot. In TNG, his miss to hit ratio is off the charts - even at close range.
In the books, he was made first officer, but took the job reluctantly.
baldieman64 Ha. Worf was the clumsy stormtrooper of the Star Trek Universe. Or the Jar Jar Binks.
Don't mock Darth Jar Jar.
Very good, Jean-Luc.
2003 there at the end. Hard to comprehend. 14 years. Where does it run away to so fast.
i have absolutely no clue.
