Toby brother I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you. I have a story and don’t even know if you see these comments but you helped me immensely in 2004. I was a member of the 45th Inf Bde from 2000-2013. In 2004 I was deployed to Kabul Afghanistan at Camp Phoenix and you and Ted Nugent were doing a morale tour of the country at that time. You were only supposed to do a meet and greet with us but when you got off the bird you saw the Thunderbirds on our shoulders and told Bagram Airfield that you’d be cancelling their show for that night. We had some guys who were songwriters and had their guitars and small amps sent to them. So they brought out a flatbed truck with their gear and you and Uncle Ted did a show for us. I had been on a patrol and we got back as you guys were getting started. I’ve some video and some pics. The. After you guys sang for us for three or four hours you stayed up even later making sure that anyone and everyone who wanted autographs got one without complaint and to the time to talk to us. You and Ted provided me a little bit of respite even if it was just for a couple of hours. And it doesn’t hurt your case that you’re a Sooner fan as well. Funny story on top of that. The first time I saw you in concert I didn’t have a clue who you were. I saw you with Rick Trevino and Sawyer Brown at ORU’s Mabee Center back in the mid 90s. Years later it was a shock to find it out. So again brother I want to thank you for all you do for those of us who served or are still serving. If by some chance you do read these and would like to see the short videos I took let me know.

Toby brother I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you. I have a story and don’t even know if you see these comments but you helped me immensely in 2004. I was a member of the 45th Inf Bde from 2000-2013. In 2004 I was deployed to Kabul Afghanistan at Camp Phoenix and you and Ted Nugent were doing a morale tour of the country at that time. You were only supposed to do a meet and greet with us but when you got off the bird you saw the Thunderbirds on our shoulders and told Bagram Airfield that you’d be cancelling their show for that night. We had some guys who were songwriters and had their guitars and small amps sent to them. So they brought out a flatbed truck with their gear and you and Uncle Ted did a show for us. I had been on a patrol and we got back as you guys were getting started. I’ve some video and some pics. The. After you guys sang for us for three or four hours you stayed up even later making sure that anyone and everyone who wanted autographs got one without complaint and to the time to talk to us. You and Ted provided me a little bit of respite even if it was just for a couple of hours. And it doesn’t hurt your case that you’re a Sooner fan as well. Funny story on top of that. The first time I saw you in concert I didn’t have a clue who you were. I saw you with Rick Trevino and Sawyer Brown at ORU’s Mabee Center back in the mid 90s. Years later it was a shock to find it out. So again brother I want to thank you for all you do for those of us who served or are still serving. If by some chance you do read these and would like to see the short videos I took let me know.
