@FlameBen dolby is on when you use earphones, for a virtual surround sound using dolby tech, and if no the picture browsing was a bug in the beta or test version of htc ui, it has been debugged so htc customer service & phone shop's here in the uk that are testing them already :-) they recieved them today and say they are very impressive. cannot disclose which phone shop as it could land them in bother
@ketmod I have someone say they've seen one instore in PHONES4U in Bracknell on Saturday just gone. I don't THINK they'll be instore ie t-mobile (who have me down to call as soon as it comes in) and Vodafone until this Friday at the earliest....
@noobass456 The iPhone 4 has iTunes (a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it) and the speakers are good, and i'm assuming the spearker quality isn't bad either. The Desire HD has SRS and Dolby Digital for phones, which apparently makes the earphone quality really really good, as far as external speaker goes i can't say but i know that i never use the speaker (except, of course for incoming calls).

Does anyone know the difference between the htc dhd and the iphone 4 in terms of sound quality? As in when earphone are plugged into both. Is the sound quality the same? iphone is also well known for its music player.
@WebShareMusic I'm in the same situation. The fact is that iPhone is more popular and you have probably tried some of your friends'. And HTC Desire HD is not so common today. I think I'll wait a little longer to get some real experience with Desire HD by people around. As for DHD i don't like its size, it seems a little jerky in scrolling and they say the battery is one of it major flaws. As for iphone, well, is so expensive, you have to pay for everything, use only apple software... :-(
It would have been nice if you could have showed us google earth on it soo we can see what the new prossesor/graphics chip could do otherwise a nice video.
It would be cool if you didn't hold the phone at an angle that makes it catch as much light as it does in the video. Otherwise a very cool hands on video. Thanks :)
@aronn635 It's same amount as colour as the iPhone4... this camera makes it look dull and shit, but believe me it's perfectly clear and colourful in person.

one plus for anyone torn between iphone and htc is anyone remember the terrible lag iphone has when going from camera to gallery? it is unholy how laggy and slow that is, it can only get better i guess with both phones as they release newer updates and os but stock the htc is far more sorted hardware and software wise. but at least you can be different from the isheep :-)
Does the desire hd lag? Cause I have been reading complains about it lagging quite a bit. And the apparent fix is to turn on the usb debug mode.. Also is there a App Killer, so that I can turn off apps running in the background?

@wallacemitch ordered it from dial a phone as on orange its special offer , free handset, 1200 mins unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £32.50 per month it is a pretty good deal, i pre ordered it so i wil get it tomorow morning

I used the iphone 4 for 2 weeks. it gets really boring after a while and speaking of 250,000 apps on itunes. Only 1/3 of those are really useful, other than that GARBAGE! HTC has a spectacular database. This phone is expensive I admit but I'm forcing my budget and buying it and using it for years! Maybe till Iphone 7!
