Here's my opinion on artistic cheating: directly tracing and copying every single aspect of someone else's and then passing it off as your own work is cheating. Just tracing on it's own, if left as is can be seen as cheating to some. Tracing and reference can be used if you make it your own, because that's not you copying, it's turning another piece of work into your piece o work. This is why if I reference or trace, I don't copy the whole thing, I use little pieces that I like, and then massively fail to copy that onto some half done piece of dragon I've been working on for half an hour and am about ready to give up on. Don't you judge me. I'll show you people whatever I want, so shush.
