We don’t follow anyone blindly. We need textual proof permitting it or not. But this shaykh wouldn’t be speaking without evidence to make it up. You’re smh may be against the religion

@@Deleted-oc4ou I am a Muslim and my dad was an Imam.so I know what I am talking about. My mom has locks as well. This sounds more like his personal preference bc there is no Islamic texts that I have ever seen or heard of that forbids locks. If this ahk has PROOF that locks are haram or frowned upon by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) then he should present it. Those are rules and criteria by which Muslims use to make proper decisions. Quranic texts and/ or Hadiths. Thank you very much.

@@kimalonzo4912 you’re right “the proof of burden is the one that makes the claim” and everything in the duniya is halal until there is a legislation proving otherwise. I myself will look into this. But I will say this, we know that the messenger of Allah peace be upon him said either cut your hair or leave it when he seen someone with half his hair cut. Maybe like a mushroom haircut. But the locks entails that the hair is burnt, correct. This is a custom of a people that the muslims don’t do so we don’t want to follow or imitate the non muslims. Also perhaps when it comes to making wudu…anyhow JazakAllahu khayran I will look into this for myself. May Allah guide us to that which is correct

@@Deleted-oc4ou That is true about cutting one's hair when hairstyles consist of half of the hair being cut and the other half is normal. However different hairstyles such as plaiting or braids was deemed acceptable so long as the water can reach the scalp for wudu. Locks have nothing to do with any of the aforementioned prohibitions unless the locks are so matted and unkempt that water cannot reach the scalp. Unkempt hair in general is not acceptable in Islam.

That is not a proof. If half of the world is fornicating, does that make it okay?
