My interview was yesterday, we spent around 10 minutes talking about video games, anime and novels :) I don't expect to be accepted but I think my interviewer was dope since he also seemed to like video games. @@abe9112 they rejected me :') As I said most of the important questions like why do I want to go to a UWC school or what are my future goals, I felt like my answers didn't reach the interviewer. Another thing you should consider Before your interview Ask yourself why should the interviewer pick you over your peers. 3 of my friends were accepted and I've realized that all of them are people who will benefit a lot from a UWC school and the school will benefit from them. The comitee knows that I have goals I want to achieve, and the thing is, I can achieve these goals without going to a UWC school. Ofcourse, attending a school like UWC will be easier for me to achieve them, but I'll still be able to manage without the UWC experience.

My higher level subjects are History, English Language & Literature, and Global Politics. My standard level subjects are Mathematical Studies, Biology, and French B. You have a total of 7 subjects (because every student has to take Theory of Knowledge in addition to these subjects). You have to pick your subjects from different groups (e.g., sciences, humanities, languages, math...)
I am considering History and Global Politics too. Also, I wanted to ask if we didn't study a subject before, can I still take it as one of my six subjects (at least at standard level)? For example, I currently don't study biology but am interested in taking it if I can. Will I be able to study it? Thanks :))))))))
Tanya Khem Hi! Some IB subjects have prerequisites like having studied the course before (Bio is not one of them). You can check the IB’s subject guides for the prerequisites for each course. But don’t worry too much about that, your school will usually tell you what you need for attending a course. If there are prerequisites for a subject and you do not meet them, you can ask your school to make an exception but it is rather unadvisable to do so because it will be quite hard to catch up on all the content by yourself. Hi! There were two interviewers, but only one of them asked questions and the other one was a silent observer. They were very friendly and tried to make it more like a conversation rather than a formal interview.

Hi! They tailor the questions to your application and the reasons you gave them so the questions they asked me will probably not help you guys a lot. My advice is to just take a look at your application again and to simply be honest about your reasons for wanting to join UWC! Good luck!

Mena Mohammed If you apply through your countries committee, they chose the school. The only way you can apply directly to one of the schools is if your country doesnt have a national committee. You can let them know your preferences though.

Do have any say in what college you attend? I live very close to Atlantic college in Wales and I’d really love to attend it but I know you apply to uwc in general and I’d be open to going to one of the ones in Europe but I don’t think my parents would want me studying too far abroad.
Hi! They gave me the option to indicate my preferences and also to voice concerns over any colleges. However, the selection committee makes the final decision about which college to recommend you for. If you do not want to attend certain colleges and have valid reasons for it, just honestly communicate it in your application/interview. I think that no matter which college you end up going to, you will always think it is the best one. And trust the selection committee, they have years of experience and a good sense of who matches which college.
Hi! We took an IQ test but it was not a very important component of the application process. There is no language test in the German selection process (or at least there was not when I applied) since your English level should not decide whether you can attend a UWC or not.
Hi! I was part of the student council and was also the head girl of my school. I also played volleyball, wrote for the school magazine, volunteered to help underprivileged children through tutoring, and participated in debating. But to be honest, I think that it is less important how many extracurriculars you have than that you truly like the ones that you do participate in. So as long as you have a good reason for being part of that particular club, you should be fine!

Do have any say in what college you attend? I live very close to Atlantic college in Wales and I’d really love to attend it but I know you apply to uwc in general and I’d be open to going to one of the ones in Europe but I don’t think my parents would want me studying too far abroad.
Hi! They gave me the option to indicate my preferences and also to voice concerns over any colleges. However, the selection committee makes the final decision about which college to recommend you for. If you do not want to attend certain colleges and have valid reasons for it, just honestly communicate it in your application/interview. I think that no matter which college you end up going to, you will always think it is the best one. And trust the selection committee, they have years of experience and a good sense of who matches which college.

Hi! We took an IQ test but it was not a very important component of the application process. There is no language test in the German selection process (or at least there was not when I applied) since your English level should not decide whether you can attend a UWC or not.

Hi! I was part of the student council and was also the head girl of my school. I also played volleyball, wrote for the school magazine, volunteered to help underprivileged children through tutoring, and participated in debating.
But to be honest, I think that it is less important how many extracurriculars you have than that you truly like the ones that you do participate in. So as long as you have a good reason for being part of that particular club, you should be fine!
