This video shows you how to take your primary clutch apart on all Non-Turbo RZR's and Rangers except for the New Body Style XP 1000 Rangers and 2020 Ranger 1000. Also how to install the Huntterworks HD bearing in the models they fit.
How this channel doesn't have hundreds of thousands of subs blows my mind . Such great content!!!
I thought we had a lot of subs until you said this!!! LOL
Thanks for all the videos. I love the tools you sell for taking the clutch off and apart. Great job, the quality shows.
Hey Todd.....question on aligning the sheaves when putting back. When torquing the movable sheave back down to the 300lb, do you have to be concerned with the sheaves matching back up to where they were before disassembly? Thanks!
No, just align the X's on the parts you took off when you they go back one and let it be where it is
@@Hunterworks Thanks for the quick response!
@@FreedomIsntFree2023 No problem
Thanks for the video Todd! I have a 2017 rzr 900 EPS that has the 1 way bearing and spacer. Your spacer slid off easy. Does it shoulder up and solid when completely assembled or does it have some side to side on shaft like the 1 way bearing does?
once installed, it does not move
Hi .. I have a 2015 Polaris ranger crew 1000 diesel.. do you have any videos for the clutches
Sorry we don't, never seen one of these before. We skip all clutch issues and go straight to the duraclutch we sell since this clutch is so problematic
Did you say your against replacing the buttons and rollers? if so why? I'm putting a new secondary on my 17 1000 and was gonna rebuild the primary with a kit from epi WE210920 if its any good. I also purchased your std white washer to install when i do it.
Not just buttons, just against rebuilding a primary, most times they don't last and you are right back in it.
@@Hunterworks I guess i should just pull it apart and clean it then? and not buy that rebuild kit.
You said you were against replacing rollers. One of my rollers is bad and is causing the weight to stick and keeping the primary engaged. I was going to buy new rollers and buttons and get a Dalton clutch kit but what would be the better option if its not good to replace the rollers and buttons?
Replace the primary and get the dalton kit
why are these two black washers on either side of the needle bearing. What function do they have? What happens if they're not inside
To stop metal to metal contact from a spinning bearing on a part not moving, without them the bearing will chew itself and the back half of clutch up
Hi guys, great video.
Cscotch
Hi guys, i don't have that spider nut tool , and I'm planning to replace the buttons the hole kit, so does my polaris sportsman 1000 xp 2016 have a spider looking nut? I never had the chance to open it up and check. Thanks in advance
We have never opened a sportsman up either, we assume it would though. Not sure if our tools work on ATV's, just the UTV's listed
Hey there can someone please tell me, if I clean the clutch system in the vehicle with brake cleaner and the scotch pad, basicly to replace the belt, is it a good idea to lubricate the shaft that the primary clutch rides on ? I just feel like the brake cleaner dried everything out but I think the wrong lubricant product could fling onto the belt or just collect the belt dust.
Thanks for any advice, great videos.
The shaft the clutch rides on is the crank, it should be dry
@@Hunterworks Agh great thanks for your reply, and is that the same for the sliding bushings etc in the clutch itself ?
I did a quick google search before I got your reply and some of the forums mentioned you recommended a dry Teflon sometimes but I’m not fully sure where they’re using it from their conversations.
Thanks again for your help.

@@Hunterworks Great thank you man I’ll watch now.
You mentioned 200 + foot lbs. Is that correct?
I do not recall any 200 but the spider nut is 250 and the spider is 280-300
How you doing sir I'll try to be quick I got a questionI blew a belt on my 570 sportsman I took it off cleaned everything up put the new belt on but the clutch case cover around and started here in a lot of clicking. the pins for the waves are rolling two of them are snug one is really loose I was told to put a rebuild kit on it my buddy said I didn't need itbrought it home put the clutch back on put the belt on start it and it's when clicking even louder. I don't have power braking so my bearing rolls front to back, but also it moves left to right is it supposed to do that if you can help me I'd appreciate it
There should be some movement left to right otherwise the bearing will not roll, the amount it moves is the possble issue
Ok thank you
Where can I find torque specs for my spider nut on my Polaris General
I think its 250.
the spider is 290, the castle nut is 250
Why are you against replacing the rollers and buttons
Because as a general rule, new parts in a old clutch do not last long and I get email almost every day supporting this. If you have the tools already, then give it a whirl
@@Hunterworks oh ok that's what I thought I always heard there's a 50 50 Chance you're going to break ur old clutch just trying to take it apart lol
@@bryonsparkman1386 That part is not true
@@Hunterworks since I have ya here any advice on a stuck primary not wanting to come off I haven't tried anything yet just put the puller in and it won't budge
@@bryonsparkman1386 One make sure good puller and not bending, then put under load with an impact and hit the end of the puller with a hammer pretty hard several times, the shockwave normally will make it pop off, after that get the cutting tool out
Do you have those tools available for purchase yet?
Been available for a couple years I think, go to our site
Hunterworks Inc. yeah my bad I found them a day later I didn’t realize you had those tools
Man and i used to hate my x3 clutch for service it,but Polaris clutch really sucks.
I agree, they all suck
