Love your videos was thinking about picking this light up I already have a lot of lights though should I Branch out and get a fenix will I be dissatisfied
I hit subscribe as soon as the voices kicked in. Best review of this light ever! Purchasing one (or two) in the (fingers crossed) Black Friday sales next week....
New sub here, your passion for gears is making me want to get back into it again. Your reviews are not only highly informative but very entertaining. Keep up the good work, brother!
Holy hellfire missiles Batman!!! Fantastic video my friend!!! New subscriber here! Shocked that I have never had your channel pop up in my recommended videos…. Just purchased this Perun 2 along with a bunch of other Olights during the Oday 2022. Olight has been my EDC for many years now. I hate spending money on Chinese products but they are the best that I have found.
Those voices were incredibly comical, a great review as usual. Is it just me that thinks that the proximity is a waste of power and should be optional? It's so dystopian; it is like "thou shan't hafian light" Going with your general theme of headlamps, I think you'd like the Silkhunt H04 RC (RC has magnetic charging). It's basically a perun without the proximity sensor and the UI is customisable. (Welp, I sound like a salesman. I did not intend to even mention the H04 RC.
Thanks. Everyone feels the same about the proximity sensor. We all wish there was a way to turn it off like something simple like pushing the button 4 times while the light is off to turn off the proximity sensor the light will flash 3 times. That would be a great option but unfortunately it isn't an option. On thr bright side "pun intended" olight usually listens to it's customers so they might take this feedback and use it in their next perun style headlamp. Although I think the headlamp game might change with then soon. I heard they're finally working on a headlamp with a red led mode. 😎👍🏻 I'll keep everyone updated of course. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you liked the voices.
@@PreparedGuy It is cool ! Lol ! Fireflies make good lights , and at a good price for what you get ... Just ordered their E12R. Check it out ... Pretty impressive 👍 Cheers I'm always checking your video brother , good job and thank for taking all that time to produce them ! 👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪
The 800 lumen mode is just a step down unfortunately that's why I didn't elaborate on it because it wasn't an actual option it's more or less a default stepdown. I personally think that they should have made it an option as well.
I wondered the same thing. I typed in that question at a Friday 12:30 pm Olight Flashlight Friday show. Sean answered that to get high enough drain and performance they had to go with a 4000 mAh battery. I think that is a reference to the C rate or discharge rate a battery is capable of? I don't know if I am completely convinced. I don't see any numbers on the battery that support that and pulling a 5000 mAh Olight battery from a Seeker 2 Pro, I see the number ORB-217C50; other numbers are 3.6V 5000mAh 18.0Wh and the 21700 battery indication. Pulling the battery from the Perun 2, I see the number ORB-217C40A; other numbers are 3.6V 4000 mAh 14.4Wh and the 21700 battery indication. Both weigh 2.5 oz on my postal scale. Even if the 5000 mAh battery weighs less than a tenth of an ounce more, the weight is so close, both measuring 2.5 oz, that would not be a reason. I imagine the 5000 mAh battery costs a bit more to make, but considering they could get longer runtimes for bragging rights, and already supply it in numerous flashlights, that provides some support for Sean's assertion. Perhaps someone that knows more about batteries can weigh in on this topic. Oh, I did briefly try the 5000 mAh battery in the Perun 2. It seemed to run fine.
Unfortunately as far as I'm aware there is no way to turn the proximity sensor feature off. In fact the sensor has a slightly longer range than the original Perun but this depends on the surface type that it comes in proximity to.
Go with the FENIX for the red light and shorter runtime and lower lumens, or go with Perun 2 for more lumens and longer runtimes. I mean those are the obvious differences beside the proximity sensor and magnetic charging on the Perun 2. I would go with the fenix to be honest because of the red led option. I like red leds on a headlamp.
See now we got somewhere 🤣👍 glad I could be of assistance. Always go with your gut instinct when it comes to the flashlight you want for your load out. 😎👍
@@PreparedGuy problem I am having with my Fenix headlamps is that they regulate down pretty fast and run out of battery quicker than I would like. The headbands are amazing though. I was using a cheapo sofirn headlamp and it destroyed the Fenix in a comparison. It was brighter for waaaay longer? My OLIGHT baton 3 pro seems to be pretty consistent so I was wondering how the Perun 2 might be for runtimes? I need a headlamp for work and it would be nice to have something last for an extremely long time with high lumens. For now I will switch back to my sofirn $20 headlamp.
No and it's also 2 years old. Also don't hold your breath on the perun 3 either. That won't have a red led either. 😞 I think a red led should be standard for any headlamp. So no fun.
The review content for the light was really good, but I must admit that when the voice actor sampler segment started, I nearly closed the tab in my browser...nothing personal, just my honest reaction. P.S. I'm really looking hard at Olight's latest clover 🍀 color variant.
I try to have my own fun whilst making these videos. It pays nothing and cost a lot of time and money. If I don't have a little fun I will go insane 🤣👍 but thanks for not closing the tab and sharing your thoughts I appreciate the effort. I've got a lot of new content coming.
@@PreparedGuy I hear ya... hope your channel gets big enough to become profitable. It was not the first video of yours I've seen (I'm sure because I recognize your porch 😆), and I intend to return, too. Fenix makes some great lights. They're one of my top 3 favorite flashlight companies. You'll be happy 😊

Thanks a ton 😎👍🏻😁
Yes it was probably the best for the Perun 2! ruclips.net/video/XQol2F8QV1M/видео.html

How do you set fire to stuff now it has the proximity sensor 😪
Take your pocket clip off when when you use the head mount! Fits better and more secure as well as it’s more comfortable..
I don't wanna 🤣🤣
Got the fireflies pl-47 2.0 instead , 4500Lumen , cree xpl-Hi , 5000k ,ice blue aux LEDs , 21700 li-ion battery , anduril UI , 60 bucks Canadian !
That looks like a cool little light and a good price too. 😎👍🏻

Im looking for a primary caving light, this or the Zebralight 600 ?
The upgrade to this is coming out soon. So definitely the upgrade to this.
Damn that's bright 🌞
did ok in the fookin wildernnnssshhhhh
Always knew I was a turbo mode kinda guy. 😂
Impressive
Was waiting to see how bright it was when it stepped down 800 lumens which is what most people would want to know I would think! 🙃

@@PreparedGuy 800 lumens runtime almost 3 hours..... 2500 lumens runtime 2 minutes see where I'm going with this? ✌️
Great look Guy, why didn't they go with a 5000 milliamp battery?
That's a good question. I wish they would have used a 5,000 mah battery, that would be a longer runtime for sure.

I guess the only way for us to know this answer is to do a runtime test with the 5,000 mah m2r pro battery in thr Perun 2. 🤔 I'm on it. 👍🏻😎😁
@@PreparedGuy yes please do I have this light and heard the same thing from olight world.
The 5000mah battery from the warrior will fit this.
how do turn off the distance sensor on this one ?

Mabey if you can pull out the cirket bord you can pull out the proximity senser sorry for the selling
Fenix hm61r vs perun 2 which one is better i cant decide ...
Both seem a perfect choice but on the other hand fenix has a better build quality imo but olight has that extra 1300 lumens so im torn apart ...
