Fighters have very different stories though. Honestly I don't know Yans story but he comes off as a crazy ass person and like a legit fearless fighter. There's plenty of fighters who admit they go into fights scared as hell. Cowboy has said it many times. There's fighters who came from wealthy families (example: cowboy again and bj penn). And there's fighters who got into fighting because they see it as a sport, like Wonderboy. I'm sure Yan and Wonderboy had a very very different upbringing.

Dude Yan is a really nice guy. If you watch his fight against Cory Sandhagen you can see that he often wants to touch glove/give respect to Sandhagen (who is too focused and lets him hang the whole time). Many are polite after the fight but to be a nice guy inbetween rounds is cool to see
