Hi have questions. Context: BFF lives in Studio -300 sqft. Already found him a queen loft bed on Craigslist for free and installed, also made him a pegboard rack thing that pannels the previously exposed back of the refrigerator to hang his pots, pans, and ladles from. Now I'm on a quest to help him win counter space. His current kitchen set-up includes almost this exact countertop just doesn't have the white racks underneath or on the side (www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sunnersta-mini-kitchen-s29393399/), and a full size portable dishwasher with butcher block top that I found on Craigslist for free again. Anyway, I originally found a butcher block floating island on Facebook MarketPlace for $10, and got it to refinish the block and eventually repurpose it as a leaf to the portable dishwasher for overhang seating and extra counter space, but I have a major issue here... The weight! It'll tip it over if th dishwasher isn't full! Additionally the dishwasher is too tall to fit under the stainless steel countertop and I'm starting to wonder if extra counter space/overhang seeing wouldn't be a bad idea to have tucked away underneath. So now, I want to make a make shift sit stand counter with locking castors that can be adjusted easily to store under the stainless steel counter, pulled out and adjusted to the height of the portable dishwasher butcher block top or stainless steel counter for extra counter space and adjusted for seating if desired. I'm learning a lot. I want it to be a manual mechanism to adjust it to keep costs down and longevity in its integrity. How would you recommend approaching this?
Abigail Rommel that is a great thing that you are doing! There are a few different ways of making something like this depending how n the tools that you have available. Can you weld? Or are you looking for some kind of mechanical device that all ready exists that you can repurpose?
@@DoingitWithjason I do not know enough about welding, but I’m good at Jerry rigging/repurposing pre-existing fasteners and whatnot that you can find in the hardware store. Hi I just wanted to share an update. I ended up helping him find a countertop sized portable dishwasher. It fit perfectly underneath the sink. And then we set up this sort of command hook thing to hold the hose up so that the water doesn't just dispense all over the floor the minute you take it off the faucet. Then we got a baker's rack that fit his microwave underneath the counter space of the baker's rack. I spent under $100. And he is pay me back by selling the full size portable dishwasher for $100! that full size portable dishwasher I got for free off Craigslist. So I'm pretty happy.
I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up ruclips.net/user/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.
I like the gold thing. Sometimes you just have to walk around the hardware or automotive store for the thing that inspires you, that thing you didn't know existed and there's probably something better out there but this will do the job. Totally not using it for its intended purpose but it works.

That's awesome would like to apply your skills to make adjustable rc car ramp.4 foot by 4 foot up to a 45 degree angle with slight bow on ramp for lift .16 inch high point lowered 6 to 8 inches. TY an y thoughts?
Is there a way to use a crank mechanism for something like a baby gate that would crank to expand and lock in place? Im using pressure mount bolts currently but I think a crank system would not only look awesome but make taking it down and putting it up so much easier
@@DoingitWithjasonokay so any pulley kinda thing that's suitable to fit that adjustable link 👍 I was really in need of a drafting table thanks for this video
@@DoingitWithjason I see. Thanks so much for the reply Jason. I have asked a carpenter to build me my own lil diy drafting table , but unfortunately he couldn't find an adjustable tilting lever or hatch or whatever it is available at any hardware store near our place for the table to be adjusted securely. Do you think hook and eye could be alright as a substitute in case I couldn't find the proper materials?
@@DoingitWithjason Thanks for the big help Jason 😀. I don't know🤔 if I could get that type of material here as I live in Asia. Ordering online has given me a lot of problems lately . Guess will hafta try to look for somethin' as close to the link you've provided. Appreciate it, Thanks again. 🙏😊

Uh...that's a tilting table, not a lifting table.

I enjoy how the wheel has an industrial aesthetic while also being something I imagine to be pleasant to use. Awesome work!

Due to irreparable top and sewing machine
Thanks! The wheel is super smooth and definitely a joy to use.
So cool! Subscribed! I am disappointed that it's not an adjustable height desk, as described, though.
Wonder if it would be adjustable height desk complete game changer
Super cool table. Thank you ❤❤❤
Woah this is awesome! Im going to try use this method to make a sit to stand desk!
Awesome
@@DoingitWithjason are you going to do that?
Awesome video! Would you love to see you make a standing desk using linear actuators. :)
what an awesome mechanism!!!
Actually mindblowing.

Have you made any convertible coffee tables to dining tables? Hopefully not weighing too much since it’s for an elderly person?
So cool! I love this!
How can we make height adjustment table for various uses like on bed and regular height , Can you sort this out for me
Is there a way to use a crank mechanism for something like a baby gate that would crank to expand and lock in place? Im using pressure mount bolts currently but I think a crank system would not only look awesome but make taking it down and putting it up so much easier
wait wtf how does you lock the pully in place so it doesn't turn after setting tilt angle?
adjusts tractor implements. Will survive desk work? Yes.
My new idea put a table in house that I can adjust for fun time :)
Doing it With jason, what is that mechanism called that rod thing ? Please let me know ASAP. Thanks in advance
How wide should door frame be?
you said the pulley is from a band saw what would be another option for people who can't find that?
I would say scrap or junk yard.. basically any place selling recycled metal.
@@DoingitWithjasonokay so any pulley kinda thing that's suitable to fit that adjustable link 👍
I was really in need of a drafting table thanks for this video
Yep, especially older automotive or tractor pulleys
Ah a good thing. I need a gold thing. I ca only find grey things. I’ll keep looking 😜
Here is the exact gold thing from the video. Sorry for taking so long to find it lol.

your website linked above is not working are you still doing custom furniture?
Yes I am. Try doingitwithjason.com
Is there a lil bit of cheaper material to substitute if I couldn't find exactly the same materials you used for adjustable tilting of the table?
Unfortunately this is the least expensive way that I have found to do it. It actually wasn't all that expensive

That turning mechanisms really gives it a industrial look. What is the name of that gold thing? Thank you in advance
+uncle juan It's called an adjustable top link, for a tractor I believe...so most tractor supply stores should have it!
Thank you jason! i appreciate you taking the type to reply!
How much did you charge to build this table
Somewhere around $2500 I think
@@DoingitWithjason thank you bro! Nice build.
Nice 👍 job mate
haha, great DIY, and very funny :-)
I wonder could you make a motorized version?
subbed. btw.
Thanks for subscribing! Yes, I can definitely make a motorized version and am planning to, just waiting for the budget to allow 😁
What the heck!? Cool stuff, I want 1!
Nice job!
Where can I get a pulley like that?
What's that gold thing??
hahahaha! Man you have a great sense of humor and the design is great!
John Harper Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It definitely came out better than I hoped for sure!
Killer table dude! 🤘

Oh. "Gold thing". Awesome. I've finally found the name of the mechanism I've spent the last ten minutes looking for
I have it pinned on the top comment 🤷♂️
Ain't nobody here to read comments
Love the table Jason
Thanks! I appreciate hearing that! It was a fun 1
Can ya do how to make a crossbow out of pencils and other simple stuff

Doing it With jason ohh wow. Looking forward to it 👍
Height adjustable table for a software developer :P
PLease build it or share some idea
This isn't adjusting the height, only the tilt
Does it wobble when raised?
+David Gabor Not at all! It's very sturdy
Wow you are really amazing..
Thank you so much 😀 you are too kind
Very cool. But it got me thinking "hydraulic car jack" instead of "gold thing".
Absolutely! You can substitute the gold thing with pretty much anything. I've even used cheap trailer Jack's from harbor freight
Kick-Ass Idea!
Thanks!
2:07 soo cool!
"adjustable table" is rank 6!
Well hot dang! I guess I am learning lol
Lol, what a channel name
Not what I was looking for and made me uncomfortable.
Please send the dimensions of this table size etc
it’s just a
tilting desk!!
Not a height adjustable desk. A tilt adjustable desk
If I say I want you to build me a chair would you build it
Absolutely! And if I say I want you to pay me for the chair would you pay me
that's tilt, not lift
not a lifting table is it!
So... It's not an adjustable height desk?
Thanks for the clickbait.
Adjustable angle - NOT adjustable height!
Pretty sad knowledge!!
