Yeah, I was surprised to hear that comment. I'm like, "That's news to me! Source?" Kevin Bacon downplaying Ft13, I get. But by all accounts Depp enjoyed ANoES and even came back for a cameo in #6.
Kylie Great breakdown of the comments from the Nightmares on elm street franchise. There’s a lot of older horror fans who hold a taste nostalgia who sometimes don’t see that certain horror remake especially innovative ideas can evolve, adapt to modern times. I’d read the article which yeah Quentin dad was played by MR Krabs Clancy brown. That is a crazy fact!
I agree with your comment about older horror fans. They also tend to get upset when one calls out problematic elements in older movies. As young horror fans we are seeing it in a different light, and it's nice that the world has changed so much that someone today can point it out and know that certain elements are problematic. And it doesn't mean we don't enjoy the movie.
I loved this video with you responding to comments. “Nostalgia shouldn’t keep you from enjoying new things “ 👏🏻🔥🙌🏻 big 3 is coming to an end but on to new thangs 😎💚
Clancy Brown aka The Kurgan from Highlander(THE greatest film EVER made!)& Viktor from The Bride(1985 retelling of Frankenstein), as well as the woodshop teacher on The Goldbergs
I think the homosexuality angle in number 2 is overplayed and exaggerated by the maker(s). I think the dance is more of a clunky risky business reference than anything else. The only really overtly homosexual scene is the coach and s&m bar - which was mentioned by grady as playground gossip earlier on, that the coach cruised s&m bars - which is why jesse dreamed the scene in this way. I think if anything the movie is a study of masculinity - of transitioning period from child to an adult male - which covers anxiety about discovering the sexuality, desire, power dynamics and violence both within oneself and the world. Amazing channel btw - I hope you get to write or direct now you're graduated, you have a really interesting and fresh perspective. Best of luck!
That was great video and really fun to see different opinions on the films and your response back to us! I love your content! Also I am really honored and grateful that you shared quite a bit of my comments, especially the one about Nancy because she is a Queen Badass ❤️ and the one on Dream Master because it’s underrated! As for the Wes Craven quote on the remake, I should have added more context instead of just the quote. I found the quote really interesting and sad to hear. I really love Craven. I actually have mixed feelings on the film itself overall and agree that Jackie is a good freddy and that Katie would have been great as the lead And I am not against it or anyone liking it by any means Or the film being remade... But I watched “The Never Sleep Again” outtakes from the documentary and heard Wes say that quote and get really emotional. I found it interesting and sad that he wasn’t completely against the film and even offered to get involved and didn’t get too and so that’s how he felt about everything. Sort of a missed opportunity...I had no idea his thoughts on it and that was the first time I had heard him Say anything about it and till I saw that. That’s why I shared it because I just found it interesting how he felt and how he wanted to be involved in the making Of it. But I 💯 agree that everyone should like something because of how they feel about it themselves and not what others say! Also, I have no problem if you use my name when sharing comments, I love commenting on your stuff!
Awesome thank you so much! And thanks for providing some context for that quote, it was interesting. I didn't actually know prior to making that review that he was so emotional about the remake and it's definitely a missed opportunity that they didn't even consult with him at ALL. The remake probably would have been better if he had, and definitely less hated hahah
@@HauntedHippie yeah it’s definitely a missed opportunity I think it would have been better and probably gotten more support that way. Like how the “Hills Have Eyes” remake did. As for what we got, It’s pretty creepy and I think Jackie Earle Haley definitely made Freddy scary again! I just wish they would have cut back on recreating some of the same shots and continue doing their own thing like the micro naps idea!
Dudeeeeeeee when you said the thing about old horror fans telling you you couldn’t have enjoyed it much cause you weren’t born in the 80s I FELT THAT, like damn I can still enjoy a movie years after it’s not my fault I wasn’t born then 😂😂

I know right hahaha I can't keep control of my hair. Huh wow, I feel like there is sort of an unspoken beef between Dodgers and Yankee fans so I'm glad you were happy about them winning :)
@@HauntedHippie Considering the fact that they originally came from Brooklyn back in the days of Duke Snyder and Jackie Robinson before and after winning the 1955 World Series coincidentally against the Yankees. I have been expecting the Dodgers to win one since they beat the Oakland Athletics and Kirk Gibson’s game winning HR in Game 1 of the 1988 series.
