    I'm thinking about investing in a happy planner next year because I'm taking online classes in the spring. I like the planner style I've been using for the past 2 years but feel like I'll need more space to stay on top of assignments/ deadlines. I track so many things: work schedule/events, habits/tasks, finances, gardening, leisure/self care, and small thoughts/notes about my day. I loved what you did with the teacher layout. I realized the color block layout is the exact same without the need to customize as much. If I do decide to get a happy planner, I think it will be a big size with color block layout. Thanks for making this video. I hope there's cute styles on sale near the end of the year.

    I am pretty new to the Happy Planner and I’ve found your video more helpful than all the others, and I’ve watched A LOT! Wish I’d found your Chanel BEFORE I’d bought any planners or layouts, but it’s been very informative, thx so much 👍🏻 I think it’s made me realise I really like the wellness planner the most, maybe followed by the monthly, which sounded a bit strange but I now see is awesome! Thx soooo much again and hi from Australia xx

    Thank you so much for doing this video, it was so helpful to see the different styles! I want to start consistently using a planner, but I've never been very good with sticking with it because they just aren't customized to me. Plus, planners are generally kind of BORING! I love the idea of the Happy Planner and being able to make it "pretty" and totally make it my own. Now that I've watched your video, I'm actually leaning toward the dashboard layout. Thanks again!

    Love this video thank you for your clear explanations. I am a vertical planner I like to separate the sections into morning, afternoon and evening. If I have appointments I will put it there. I think I am just too used to the vertical, my first planner was vertical( There wasn't many choices back then ) I also use the teacher planner , as a teacher I love it the only thing I think it's missing is the weekends. I would like to have some space to put my weekend plans into it. This year I have bought the color block layout in the homeschooling planner to try out for teaching. I love the color blocking it's easier to see the different subjects and periods. I love that it has a weekend section finally! I have also gotten a faith journal to try out. I would love to try a lined vertical next.

    Thank you very much. I am trying to pick my 2023 planner. I had used Dashboard from a recovery planner, although I am not in recovery & did NOT LIKE IT at all…I found decorating it difficult & the topics on the left were not applicable. HOWEVER, your presentation of a dashboard has me reconsidering it. I have been using in 2022 the lined vertical layout in Plan a Happy life with the top box being shaded made me nuts because it had to be covered to match my themes in decorating. I love decorating with a LOT OF STICKERS, so a vertical without lines and no shaded boxes might be an option. Your video certainly helped me cull through & understand the various formats.

    My first planner turned out to be color block. I didn't know what I was doing when I ordered it. Haha. I learned to just ignore it but I will be really glad to start next year in a regular vertical layout with no color blocking. I will miss the grid space at the bottom of Saturday and Sunday, which I use for weekly habit tracking, but I'm making a half-sheet insert that I can print to replace that section. I'm just excited to get into a new planner!!

    When I was little they would give out the free planners or agendas when I was in elementary and middle school. Ever since then I think I just got used to using the horizontal planner so that one is definitely my favorite. I've actually wanted to try bullet journaling at one point but I just don't think making a spread from scratch every week is realistic for me haha.

      I know this is a few months old - but it was a dashboard layout that really solidified my passion for Planners and Planner supplies, lol. Prior to that I felt like I didn’t really “ belong” To either of the other two predominant styles. And I agree 1000% on color blocking! I’d like the principle of it, it just makes decorating so much harder. I wish, instead of blocking or shading, they would’ve just alternated the boxes with maybe a grid alternating with plain paper and that would have made it more palatable for me…. But even then - dashboard is the only way to go :-) lol.

    I used the vertical in college. I just separated it by time of day and then color coded my classes, work, and home items. After I was done with school, that method didn’t work as well for me. I’m going to switch to the dashboard to see if that fits with my life now.

    I really want to try the dashboard layout. I’m a lister but I don’t have many to do’s that are day specific. I just haven’t found any that are neutral enough for me. I can’t deal with the colored box so I’m currently sticking with my vertical. Verticals can be hard for beginners but I find the horizontal layout to be the harder. I tried so many times and different ways but it just never worked for me as a planner. I currently use a one as a faith journal. I will say that the layout I can’t stand is the color block. The blocks were just too small and the colors just made it seem like the spaces were running into each other and sometimes it was hard to delineate one block from the one next to it when I was in a hurry. I couldn’t even use it for more than two weeks, 😅.

    • @AshleyAnderson
      @AshleyAnderson  3 года назад +1

      I’m not a fan of the color block either on the Dashboard but when I had a one that had it, I would take HP note paper and cut it down to size to cover it up. And when I would cut the paper, I would make enough for a couple of months and keep them in a pocket folder until I needed them.
      The horizontal was hard for me too until I made the sections but I love that you’re using it for a faith journal! It’s perfect for that!
      I agree...not a fan of color block lol 😂

    I honestly wasn't aware till after watching this how many different layouts there could possibly be for the Happy Planner. I liked the Dashboard planner layout but I really kinda feel more in favor of the monthly just for the sake of how I end up planning and just how much I end up forgetting about my poor planner and feeling like I've wasted space by not utilizing it properly.

    • @AshleyAnderson

      I use to do the same thing! Setting alarms to check my planner helped a ton and if you can, make it to where you HAVE to get in your planner... so like, is there something you could write in it each day or week and only have it in your planner so you have to check it? That may help some! Don't fell bad though-it's hard to get use to checking it all the time. Also, if you can, leave it lay open in a common area of your home so you see it when you walk by. Hope that helps some! :)
