This was brilliant
Great story but I have questions. Why would they build a robot with an AI and not give it basic information/directives to initially wake up with? Why would you build a robot with an AI but no way to communicate? Isn't that the whole point? And how could they see all the strange readings/alerts on the machienes and not recognise it as thought process? Shouldn't they have been expecting it? I think the government have been giving money to dodgy people who don't really know what they're doing and I'd like to see Dr Stein's credentials.

Maybe all the reasonable and competent scientists refused the job because they thought building artificial people for war was kind of a dick move.

Had me right up to the end there when he finally said “Dr. Franklin Stein”. Ahh shoot. Almost made it haha. When I heard the last name at the beginning I was waiting for that to drop. Just rolled my eyes and laughed.
Fortunately it was just a funny little passing thing. Didn’t take away from the story. That was quite a good story. I really enjoyed it. Great job, everyone involved.
