@@ananiahbhatti1600 Look for benzocaine gel at your local pharmacy. Rub it on your canker sore using a clean q-tip or your washed finger. Put brace wax on the wire/bracket that's causing the irritation and the 2 adjacent brackets to help keep it on and to make sure those aren't causing the sores.

@Nikki Namikaze-Uchiha-Hatake No, like I fell down a hill and the roots of my front teeth died. There’s no teeth. But since as I could technically eat some sort of food they said getting it fixed would be cosmetic… like eating solids isn’t important 💀
Only thing they paid for was my dentist to straighten my teeth back out.

I was destined to have a severe underbite, but thanks to early intervention, several surgeries, braces, experimental head gear, and great doctors, after 6 years, I had a normal "bite". I am so thankful to my parents for investing the thousands of dollars in gifting me a normal bite and appearance. It was super painful sometimes, but worth every moment.

    Edit:
For everyone who replied to my comment, thank you all for the support and love ❤️. My surgery will be done by the end of the year and it’s known as SARPE. For those who don’t know what that is I will try my best to explain, the surgery will be preformed on my top jaw because it’s to narrow they will use a machine to saw my bone in half and my expander will push them apart. I’m terrified but it will make my smile beautiful 🙏🏼. Love you all ❤️🥰
    Edit #2
Hello loves so I had the surgery on September 7th 2023 basically two days and let me tell you loves my experience. So after I woke up from surgery I had little pain but went back to sleep until I woke up in a different room that’s when the pain started to come bad (for those having the surgery PLEASE don’t be scared to feel pain it’s part of the journey) . Its already two days since my face got very swollen. It’s very hard to drink, eat, and walk, my mom gave me a cane to walk around the house. Please if you have any questions you’re more than welcome to ask 🙏🏼❤️

At first I didn't understand. Then I pulled my lower jaw back until it didn't touch my teeth and tried to bite something. There's a gap that doesn't allow your food to grab the way it should. Back teeth are a shearing force but front teeth are made to section food off and you can't do that with this condition I realized. SO glad she feels normal and is happy. Well done the doctors, God is good.

I’m so happy for her! I had major maxillofacial reconstructive surgery cuz I was born with an underbite that would have developed into TMJ if I didn’t have surgery. Kids made fun of me in school, called me names and wrote “Dino chomp” on my posters when I ran for Freshman class president in 8th grade. My top jaw was cut in the back, shifted forward and down, bone grafted under and around my nose, and my lower jaw was cut and shifted back. The sad part was I didn’t care about the risks of the surgery - I was 16. I just didn’t want my classmates making fun of me anymore. Even though I was pretty, I didn’t believe I was because of how these kids bullied me, and I developed body image issues that still persist today (age 34). I hope kids today know and understand how bullying like this changes another kid’s life forever…I still don’t know what it’s like to be able to dance in front of others without feeling self conscious.
This woman is so brave, the recovery process is gruesome, full of setbacks, and she is obviously a resilient woman who deserves her best life! Congrats to her on overcoming this! ❤

I have an anterior open bite but have never been a surgical candidate. It definitely affects many aspects of my life. TMJ is severe and chewing can be incredibly painful.
I have dental cleaning four times a year because I can't break down plaque normally, I wear a mouth guard enforced with steel mesh to help relieve pressure (without the steel mesh, I snap the mold while I sleep.)
If I could have done this at 21, especially knowing what I know now, I would have jumped at the chance.

I know and pray that you will look into surgery if you need and if headgear or distraction devices are not enough. It is being done more and more often and less dangerous.
Insurance e wise- pick the right one for the surgery/ go on forums, find out what needs to be documented from your doctors etc and be prepared for at least 6 months to a year process of getting materials together, being denied, contesting, etc.
It sounds like she needs it it’s just a matter of what insurance and important to find the best doctors - ones who do this at least 30-hundreds of times a year. Not one or twelve…
You have time but do your research for the insurance and dpc.
      Guarantee you it will happen.

Open bites are no joke. I never thought I could fix mine without surgery, but I went to 4 different orthos and finally found one that wanted to try to fix my issue with a simple palate expander despite me being 24.
My dentist laughed at it when she saw it, and assured me there was no way it would work and I would need surgery… but within a month and a half, my upper palate was expanded with this simple approach! And I’m now about to be 27… and all done with invisalign and a new, functional, amazing, HEALTHY smile and bite. I could not be more grateful. Easily worth 5k.

What an incredible result. I also have ICR. We found a mix of retainers, brackets, and rubber bands that gives me near-complete symptom relief and let me avoid jaw surgery (at least for now, hopefully forever). Before that, it caused bite issues that made almost all my teeth insanely hot and cold sensitive, my jaw and teeth hurt all the time, and my ears rang constantly. We only caught it because another family member also has it so I went back to our childhood orthodontist to get checked. I once had emergency dental work that made the retainer my rubber bands hook to not fit, and my symptoms returned almost in full in the 2 weeks it took for me to get into the ortho's office and get a new one made. ICR gets a 0/10, would not recommend.

My husband as a child rode a skateboard into a gutter face 1st on accident. Surgery, jaw wired shut. It was such a mental feat for him. Great job by this young lady. !!!

I also had this surgery. It was an experience I would not want to go through again!

Girl. I have more problem than your teeth alignment and jaw alignment. You're still lucky. Hope the surgery went well.
