- I've never used Flex Seal before but I've seen it on TV and they make some pretty bold claims about their product. Today an ordinary man with modest DIY skills attempts to repair a water table using Flex Seal. The question: Does this product actually work in real life?

I love doing stuff with my little nephews and niece that they’ll remember forever like my parents, big cousins, aunts and uncles used to do with us.
I had a tire on my truck that had a big chunk of rubber that had come out. It was on the edge and the wires were showing. I had no spare tire and I was outta town. All I could find being way out where I was at was a tub of flex seal it was all most gone. I had just the right amount to feel the whole up. I put it in and I never did anything else to it. It's been now over. 2 years and it's still holding. Know one can believe it. All my friends are talking about it. I will always keep a tub in all my vehicles this would make a real good commercial better than a chicken one in the boat
I can’t believe your grammar
Let me see a picture of it my brotha

Fake
Any chance we can get an update? How did it hold up, four years later?
So, bottom line: it worked!
Had a pinhole leak on washer fluid resivore on my truck 2 coats on it. Held for about 24 hrs. Stuff sucks.
I had a gutter that leaked even with calking. One can of this and no more leaks. In my case, it worked as advertised.
Big Wheel Break is awesome! Hahaha. We have some too. 😁
Replace the radiator in my 06 Impala.. noticed a small leak in a transmission line.. After a few coats and a few hours of waiting ! No more leaks 🎉
Dude those lines are pressurized. Did it hold?
It works well, but like any sealant or glue or paint “you must clean the surface thoroughly and let it dry completely, ruff up the surface with sandpaper before applying”. If you had bad luck with this product assuredly you didn’t ruff up the surface, some containers are made of materials designed to not allow stuff to stick to them, like the plastic a bottle of super glue is made of. “Ruff up the surface at least”. 👍
Have an aquarium and I mistakenly deilled a hole through the side of it. Two coats 24 hours apart and no leak.
It's pricey, the spray version is very thin, the stuff in a tub must all be used. It doesn't store without hardening. If you use a small amount you may just as well throw away the rest since it hardens in the tub after first use. Would I but this again?.. No
What about the kind that comes in a spray can like spray paint?
I don’t think you applied it thick enough, especially around those major cracks.
JB Weld makes a product to stop leaks. Used it before on main water line (copper) in an industrial setting.
If you hadn't pushed down on it first up, it probably would have been ok., but the whole plug kind of area needed a plastic weld first! Cheers. Good video though. Kids were having fun.
That's crazy the commercial say instantly
Really? It's gotta dry! Instructions on can say let dry 24-48 hrs before second coat if necessary. IT works, bottom line.
I loved this, thank you for your work
I would have sendwiched a masking tape or a piece of paper (covered on both sides with Flex Seal) between the layers of spray. It's a good product.
If it were good, you wouldn't need the tape.

Can I use for the inside bottom seal of a 90 gal aquarium
Big storm heading into Cape Town overnight, level 8. There's a leak in garage roof over electrical box. Cant get onto roof..ladder too short. Used spray to coat roof on inside...will edit post if it works or not tomorrow.
Any news
Nice cause I want to make a deck but get this I was think of using a low profile bed frame and adding a thing wood base then put flex on it for waterproofing they cover it with fake grass or patio rug and patio chairs or something like that
The white flex seal is much, much runnier than the black flex seal.
Do you think it would work as soundproofing, if sprayed over sheetmetal? Would it take a few coats?
Dude Daniel! I bought a container of the stuff for 34 bucks on clearance and I was looking on here what I can do with it and I found you how wild😂
Can’t wait to see what you do with it!
The problem I had with the caulking, and glue was that out of 3 different size products all were DRIED up! All 3 purchases from 2 different big box stores. Never buying again.
Return it and get a replacement or refund.
Calm down there cowboy 🤠
I have used it on an air mattress before and it works well
You empower me to buy the flexseal spray, I’m trying to fix a Rubbermaid tank, I hope it’s strong enough to hold the heavy water, but I’ll double coated or triple coated if I need to, also, I only needed to do a few sections, so hopefully my bottle will go a lot further thanks for this video. Glad I didn’t get the paste or paint or whatever. I’ll subscribe just for you man.
2 coats it looks 👀🧐👍 👌 great 👏🤔 can you make a small bird bath with card board they have it in the can like 🎨 🖌 to brush it on 1 coat or 2
Do you think I can use this to seal tarrotto pot? Does it have a strong smell like all paint have? Is it have any toxic chemical in it? Don't want to poison my plant.
Great work
I purchased Flex Seal paste in a quart size plastic container, $29 + ST. Problem was to seal leaks about 1/4" around the edge of my deck above my kitchen nook. My experience: when weather is around 40 degrees it does not stick well especially to aluminum flashing. I had to wear rubber gloves and with my finger press hard to have stick. I found that it had a tendency to roll over itself and not stick. Also, it is messy, have a lot of acetone handy to clean your tools, hand, clothing, etc. Does it work? We have had a two down pours and I need to get a few more to see how well it does. My take: if your need can be served with roof tar, it is a lot cheaper and easier to work with than this stuff and in my case, it would have worked just as well. The ad shows applying under water conditions (the basement window shot), I am very skeptical of that given how poorly it was adhering to cold moist aluminum flashing and lumber.
like paint 1 coat is not enough I would spray inside and outside if it leaks the flex seal is not worth $25.00 a can
If there is too much pressure it doesn't seem to be as effective
How many cans did you use ?
Just one can
Is it still working?
thank you for this review and the kids are well behaved was that a red wagon ???????🌈🌞👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🧐👏👀
Question: I need to use Flex Seal spray on a rooftop tempered glass dome. Given how close the glass is to the roof, I have to tilt the flex seal spray can almost 90 so the spray nozzle is low enough to get the sealant where it needs to go. But then the flow of sealant stops because of the tilt. Anyone know of a solution? Is there a long straw attachment (like a WD-40 can) that could help?
I would just use newspaper and masking tape to keep the spray off locations where you don’t want it
the little 👦 boy is so cute 🏃♂️ running with the bicycle 🚲 yet he is having fun one day he will sit on it 😄 🌈🌞
OMG 😲 😱 the little 👦 is drinking the 💧 water I like the white you can see when it get dirty
I wonder if this would work on screens on porches....even better without visual obstruction using the clear color version....have you tried it?
I have not tried the clear spray
would you recommend this for a skylight
monter mike flex sealed large Legos together like a small boat this guy 👦 he says he can't swim truth or not I don't know he sat in it the stuff made it 💧water proof good luck 😉
Hi

LMAO @ “the TV ‘mercial…” 😂
...
Bullshit, the only word that comes to mind
Hell no it doesn't we bought this and when we got a leak in the ceiling in the attic we sprayed this and a few months later the place where we spayed rotted and had to pay to get the hold roof done for everywhere we sprayed it rotted the ceiling and it was a mess
If its an attic roof you have to put it on the outside of the roof. Common sense tells you that if you have a hole in your roof and wood is porous that water is going to find its way through the same hole since you didn't repair it from the outside. That goes for any sealant. Roof tar, Silicone, chaulk etc.
This crap does not work at all what a waste of money
BS - Won't last long - Use a real product like PANSEAL
www.dynesic.com/product-page/panseal-gallon
How do u know
@@SpiritofaHandyman a gallon of panseal from the panseal site is $199 ! Really? no thanks
Actually according to further research if you apply it correctly it can last up to 30 years. Very reliable product
Perhaps for a mission-critical application I'd agree. But for the kid's play tub Panseal is not worth it. Interesting product though, 2-part epoxy basically.
I thought the black flex seal was pretty lazy on its own until the white flex seal helped it 😂😂😂
Your comment is nasty.
Men flex seal is great. About a month ago I got a hole in my radiator. Didn't feel like buying a new one cuz they're like $200. Got me a $15 can of flex seal coated that thing like 13 times. Let it dry for 48 hours. Haven't had a leak since you're talking four or 500 lb of pressure in that radiator. So yeah stuff works pretty good
I have a bathtub and a very stout 13 year old. While in the tub she shoved herself with her heels and it caused a big hole in the bottom end of the tub. I used flex paste to repair the hole. It has never leaked and has held up so far as it was almost 2 years ago. I have also used it on a refridge after it was badly dent. I repaired the dent with this product. One of those textured finger print resistant ones. I dabbed a plastic bag over this product to texture it. Almost disappeared. This product will dry out quickly in the jar.
Might be good as an undercoating protectant
What do you do with a water table?
you play in it. it's just a raised pool for children to play and learn how water works.
